I have fallen.
The purpose of this blog is to track my progress as I shed my FoTM-chasing skin, and return to the Path of the Minja.
I have seen the light. I have seen the error in my ways. I have seen my falling. How I forsook myself time and time again, from changing Scout suits, to entirely abandoning Scouts all together. Oh, what I fool I was.
I was unfaithful. I claimed it would never happen again. But the clarity I feel now.... It reassures me, for I know that this time, my will is infallible.
This blog will be updated daily, as I recount my reunion with my former self.

Day 1 - The Journey of 1000 Miles...

It began.
I started my journey to redemption by ensuring that I could not be tempted into transgression. I deleted all my fits that were not a Min Scout. Out went the 1-second TTK Amarr Assault, followed by the professional dancer - the Min Assault. My Forge Gun fit was no more, along with my Standard Gal Assault. All that remained was 7 or so Min Scout fits. My cleansing could begin.
I began by joining a squad with Shotty GoBang and co, and we played a few Skirms. I hadn't completely forgotten how to knife, but I definitely needed some refreshing. The first thing I relearnt was to always keep moving. Several times I died whilst simply waiting. 'Finding the best position - which is always changing - is paramount', I told myself. Pretty soon, I was feeling more confident.
Something was wrong though.
I heard a whisper. 'Where have you been...?' I was so startled that I almost cut myself. Surely just my imagination.

Day 1 - The Journey of 1000 Miles...

Eventually, I created my own squad with Pseudogenes and a few other guys from NKU, plus a few O.H members. Good matches were had. One thing I found particularly remarkable was how I could be a ghost amongst chaos. Whilst all of my team was suffering and dying, I still hadn't been seen. At the end of one match, I hadn't even died.
I almost lost my life when I tried to act fancy. I charged-swiped an Apex Amarr Sentinel, and tried to finish him with a melee. Things went pear-shaped though, and I just narrowly killed him before I could be sprayed down.
That same match, I took delight in repeatedly stabbing a speed-tanked Sentinel who also brandished knives. 
I also ended up winning a knife duel against another Minja, who I promptly invited to NKU.
As the end of the first day drew to a close, I became nervous thinking about what was to come...

Day 2 - 'It's all coming back to me...'

Today was a good day.
I now fully realise that it is my destiny to be a Minja. Nothing feels as natural as elegantly slitting the throats of oblivious Assaults and Sentinels... I'm not as rusty as I was yesterday (pun intended  ). Remarkably, my K/D skyrocketted, compared to when I ran my Assaults. I believe my weekly K/D is now something like 5.58. I used to be milling around 3.50-4.00 when I had deterred from the Path. This just further convinces me that it's my calling to be a Minja.
Brilliant matches were had today. The highlight was probably a match where my squad and I beat a squad of FA and NF. Once again though, I tried to be fancy and finish a Sentinel with a melee, and one again, it nearly cost me my life .
Noteable people squadded with today: Master Kail, Ian the Conquer, Gunman Stylze, Solar Qoio, 1st Lieutenant Tiberius, Pocket Rocket Girl.

Day 2 - 'It's All Coming Back to Me...'

What I was most proud of today was making a good Minja impression on Tibs and Solar, who will probably be FCing the PC's I'll be in, when our CEO isn't around. If I'm to gain recognition amongst the PC community for my skills as a Minja, obviously I have to run a Minja in PC!  After a quick enquiry, I was given the go-ahead to run my Minja in PC 
Finally, I managed to get Solar, Silent-Cry and Tibs to join NKU. 
As the day drew to a close, I pondered on what had convinced me to leave the Path in the first place. Looking at it now, I couldn't imagine ever wanting to run my Assaults again...
Things are looking up!

Just checked, and I actually have 10 fits!
Some of them are just copies where I replace an ACR with a burst, but are otherwise exactly the same fit. I have fits for sprinting at the start of PC matches (3 kincats), sprinting at the start of pubs (2 kinkats 1damp, to allow for extra EHP and stuff), fits with 2 damps, fits with 3 damps, hack fits, dampened hack fits, and fits where I'm using those sexy-looking Pyrus Allotok Knives.

Day 3 - A Victim of Circumstance
Unfortunately, today didn't end as well as yesterday. 
Oh, don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it until the end! I'm progressing well, and I'm growing more deadly every day. My best score today was 24/2 in a Skirmish on Line Harvest. The highlight of this match was when I managed 3 Knife kills in a row. The killfeed was beautiful:

I felt a part of Moody's spirit in me when that happened. It was just like this vid.
The day ended badly though when I spawned on a glitched Uplink and began falling endlessly, and then I accidentally left the battle when I meant to suicide.  After that, I just turned in for the night...
Unfortunately, I missed the PC opportunities for today whilst I was AFK, but hopefully there should be some more opportunities very soon... Hell, maybe I should make a thread in the War Room, offering my services as a ringer...

Day 4 - 'Git Gud'

Today gave me an opportunity to test my skills against a proper team, instead of mere pub-dwellers. Granted, it wasn't in PC, but the opposition was fearsome. The opposition was composed of a full 0.H squad - including Blitz, 1st Lieutenant Tiberius, and Solar Qoio - 1 FA guy, and a full squad of Outcast Mercs. Bravely standing against them was my squad, composed of 3 0.H guys, Kaze Eyrou, Billy JR, and some other guy  , plus randoms. A fierce battle commenced.
Bodies flew everywhere, and I ensured I directed my squad through tactical Squad Commands. Our team had the upper hand in terms of Point-control, but our guys just couldn't withstand the full wrath of sch a powerful team. Our clones were soon in the red.
Best part of the match was when I stabbed Blitz right in the face.
Not gonna lie, I really wanted to win. I really did. It was a damn close match. Our MCCs were within milli-tics of each other when the match ended. Our team only had about 3 clones left when our MCC exploded though.
I wasn't peeved though; it was a really close and enjoyable match, and I applaud Scotty for making it.  Fair enough, we lost, but I wanted to see how I had performed in my Minja against stiff oposition.
I went 13/5, 2nd place.
Now, this may not seem that impressive to you, but consider that this was the best K/D on the team. The guy who had the second best K/D went 14/12. Bearing that in mind, I'd say I did damn well!

What this match had told me though was that my perseverance was paying off. I was gitting gud. Gitting real gud. Now, I'm just itching to get into a PC and take on a fully organised team. Soon... Soon...
Aside from that, I played some other nice pubs. Srill close, mind you, but not as heart-attack inducing as that one. Best score I got today was 19/3.
I'm not thinking about my movements anymore. It's much more fluid; much more instinctive. I have surpassed my former self, but my progress isn't slowing. Where will it end? When will I stop improving? I'll tell you this:
I won't stop improving until I'm the #1 Minja in Dust. I won't stop improving until my name is whispered in fear, and just my name in the killfeed makes everyone check their six. I won't stop improving until I have the total respect of the PC community.
I won't stop until I'm a legend.

If I thought I could use the knives without making a fool of myself, I would do it today. You run melee, don't you, Jager? If so, knives are relatively similar and are worth picking up. They're quite fun and definitely worth a go! Also, Dreis... how come you gotta do this when I'm away? ;~; I'm missing out on all your matches... we could play kitchen together, but noooo... I've gotta be away from my PS3.

Day 5 - 'That One Didn't Count!'
I think I only managed about two matches today due to issues I had with my connection, but fear not, for those two matches were filled with intrigue and excitement!
Firstly, I played a match with Kaze, Regnier, and some other tossers. The day started with a death, unfortunately. I checked my six, and say the unmistakable ghastly face of a Gallente Scout, who carried a Shotgun. Naturall, I leaped backwards, whilst spraying his face with ACR. But alas! My controller decided to say '**** you!' and brought up my deployment window. A horrifically gluttonous grin appeared on the face of the Gal Scout as he closed in on me, and shot plasma into my stomach. As I laid on the ground, chocking on Dust (pun intended ), I cursed my controller.
Joy returned, however, when, whilst in the process of clearing an objective, I noticed a figure charging towards me. I ran around a corner and charged my knives. From the corner leaped the most unholy of fits; a Minmatar Scout with a Shotgun! REvultion spread over me as I saw the evil in his eyes. I swung my knives, piercing his skull, just as he fired the cursed weapon. I survived with just 5 HP, whilst he lay on the ground, dead.

The other match I played was difficult, not specifically of the opposition, but because of the lag. Oh, the horror! The horror! I cloaked 3 seconds after the animation played. It felt like I was running through quicksand. But I bravely persevered, and in the end, I went 16/3.
I was distraught when I learnt I had missed yet another PC whilst I was AFK, and was compelled to create this thread, in the hope that I'll see some action, eventually... 
Noteable people encountered today: Kaze Eyrou, Regnier Feros, Ian The Conquer, Romulus H3X, Vesperz.

Was this the map where objectives are underground? That's always been the laggiest for me.

Day 6 - 'Oh F*ck, It's Dreis...'
Come one, come all! Crowd around the fireplace as Uncle Dreis tells you a story!
Today's matchmaking hasn't been the best, to put it mildly. Long wait times and uneven matches made today the second worst day I've had, after Day 3.
I got into a very interesting match though. On my team was my squad, consisting of Parkour Practioner, Kaze Eyrou, and miscellaneous (), whilst the enemy team was made up of Thor Odinson42, Haerr, Summer Sault, and some other frightening dudes. Well, I wasn't about to keel over and get kicked in the teeth! I came out, knives a-swingin', links a-droppin', points a-hackin', and did my best to strive for victory. Unfortunately though, the opposition was far too powerful for our wee berries, and we lost a lot of clones.
One particular part of the match sticks with me now. I spied, with my singular eye, a Proto Gallente Assault. Licking my knives, I crept close. Now, I don't use the Raptor-Jump against Assaults often because of their erratic movement style. Instead, I creep up within molestation distance, charge my knives, and swing whilst they're still in range. This is what I did against the Gallente Assault. I still recall the resistance I had felt when I carved into his dense rump.

When the match ended (in a loss) and the EOM screen was displayed, I was pleasantly surprised. I had come 1st Place, going 11/1. Once again this may not seem very impressive, but context is important here. I was the only one on the team to go K/D positive. The next best K/D on the team was 5/6.
Most of my squad was fairly annoyed, but I still sent GGs. One of the replies made me jubilant. It was from Thor.

Day 7 - 'I Am Good, I Swear!'
Please forgive me, for this will not be a positive entry.
It's been a really bad day; even worse than both Day 3 and Day 6.
I'm going to be completely honest. The most important thing for me in Dust is making a good impression on others; to impress others. Some may call it silly, but I care about what others think of me. Guaranteed, after every match, I'm thinking, 'What do my squadmates think of me now?'. Whilst this is one of the things that compels me to be constantly improving, it is also a source of great anger and frustration. It seems that whenever I see someone I really want to impress, I perform at my worst.
Today, I really wanted to impress One Eyed King, Ian The Conquer, Solar Qoio, and 1st Lieutenant Tiberius. Naturally, things didn't go the way I wanted them to.
I got into a Skirm with OEK on the enemy team. Of course, I didn't realise this until he killed me. When I routinely checked my six, I saw him sprinting towards me in a Quafe Scout M-1, brandishing Knives: he wanted to duel. Well, I was up for the challenge, but I was fairly distracted by the numerous reds around me, and the odd Blaster Tank, and I believe it was this that cost me the duel. Fair enough, I had lost a duel, but that wasn't the worst part. When the match ended (in a loss), I saw I had gone 10/8 - the worst score I had gotten since I had started this blog. Only an OB had saved me from going K/D negative. 'Why' I thought, 'can I not perform well when it matters most to me? Later, when I was squadded with OEK, Ian The Conquer, and Otrera Goddess, I ended up going 2/3, 10th place.
Solar Qoio. This guy has never seen me do well. Every. Single. Time I've played with or against him, I've done deplorably badly.
It just seems like I'm cursed to only do well when nobody I care about can see me. 'What kind of impression am I leaving on them when this happens?' I thought.
I suppose it wasn't all bad though. I got into a tough Skirm with Tibs, and I ended up going 9/2. Again, not initially impressive, but this was the best K/D on the team. I came 2nd place.
On the plus side, I received another message after I sent a GG:

In a plot twist though, I learnt that I was not kiced from RND under Dubb's instruction for my comments in their recruitment thread, as I had previously thought, but rather by one of the Directors who made an independent decision.
How's my knifing developing? I don't know... Sometimes it feels like I'm not improving, or that I'm even getting worse... Am I not as good as I had previously thought?
I'm really sorry for the negative entry today, but it's just been one of those days... I hope tomorrow is better. With the weekend approaching, I should have more time for Dusting.

I think I see what you mean. What's annoying to me though is when people only see me in matches where I do badly. I worry that they think what they're seeing is my true capability, since I haven't been able to show them anything else.

Oh, don't I know it! I do believe I hold myself to unreasonably high standards; you're right. I look at other players and think 'Why am I not that good?'. Whilst this is good for improvement, it's definitely not good for my overall enjoyment of the game, or my blood-pressure for that matter.

It's interesting to see the game put into writing as it plays out, was expecting something more lore oriented but was surprised (in a good way) to find that it was more of a narration of a game. I'd say forge on with it, if you enjoy the writing at least! Maybe start writing full descriptions of the battles you went through even!

Confirming JUPA killed me multiple times with a Duvolle Shotgun on a Gal Scout.

I had alot of guys talking on comms so i voiced off after seeing you stab in the killfeed. Went ahead and switched to melee scout and then I heard you decloak. Reflex is to jump behind and then switched to my fists. I swear , my strongest point is my hearing , it's very sharp after playing 6 years in music bands. My eyes , not the best , I wear glasses. I'd say decloak a little further from me so i can't hear you.

Day 8 - Unreachable Fruit
Today, I've been at Scotty's mercy once again. But hang on! Before you start moaning and groaning, this entry will not be as negative as the last one!
A couple interesting and cruel things happened to me today. Looking back on it now, it feels like I've been the subject of the Server Gods' cruel jokes all day today.
Firstly, it seemed like I would never play a match from the beginning, because I was consistently put into matches that were already half-over and unwinnable. This wasn't even solo, mind you: I had a full squad!
Even when I was able to play matches from the beginning, they almost always ended in a loss. The annoying thing though is that I can't even complain of a stomp: all the matches were fairly even. I would always juuuuuust lose, though. Currently, my weekly W/L is 1.16. Compare this to my monthly W/L, which is 2.15, and I'm sure you'd conclude that Scooty has been unusually harsh to me so far this week.
Another cruel joke played on me went like this:
I finally got an opportunity to play in a PC! \o/ I was ringing for ML. vs RG. I was very excitied, until only 6 mercs were on the enemy team. A couple joined mid-match, but they were at too much of a disadvantage to make a comeback. In the end, I went 3/1, 6th place. Not bad, I'd say, but I was really disappointed that I couldn't get butchering in a more serious PC.
My payment: 256K. I could have ran a pub and made more ISK! The reason why the payout was so low was because RG hadn't used Proto: they ran BPOs or Standard gear. This meant that they made millions out of us, but we made pittance. Essentially, they were generously paid for losing, which I think is ridiculous.
I had a couple good Skirms where I performed well, but I still lost the match. I thought back to the times when I would rage about 'carrying the useless blueberries', and it seemed to aptly apply in that situation.
I got into a Skirm vs True Adamance, but it turned into a 6v14. I backed out of another Skirm vs Heimdallr69 because it was 6v13. Isn't it funny how I get these poor games against poeple I know??? Still, I managed to go 11/0 vs True's lot, which I was pretty pleased with. My best score today was 19/2.
Overall, my main gripe today has been the matchmaking. Yeah, sure, they were close matches, but I WANNA ACTUALLY WIN TOO SOMETIMES!!!
Now let's see... My knifing... Best Knife kill of today was when I did some serious parkour over some railings and one-shotted a Minmando
Worst fail? You know the socket with the bottomless pit? Yeah, well, normally after every kill I get or engagement I'm in, I do a little skip to potentially throw off the aim of anyone else that's gunning for me. Long story short, I skipped into the bottomless pit.

Day 9 -The Devil's Compensation

The last two days (Day 7 and Day 8) were utter ****, but at last, it finally seems like I've received some compensation for the horrible pain and suffering I've endured! \o/
Today was absolutely fantastic! It was probably one of the best days I've had in months! There were plenty of fun, close matches, but at least this time, I actually won most of them.
I really don't know where to start: I've got so much to tell! Let's see...
I started today by squadding up with some guys with NKU and an 0.H guy. We played a fantastic Skirm and I went 23/1 - my best score of the night. Overall, all my matches today have been great. I achieved pretty impressive scores in all of them, like 16/2, 19/4, 23/1, or 11/0.
There's one particular match that I distinctly remember. I was squadded with Bright Steel, SiraJKnight, and some other cool dudes. The match itself was so frantic and fun - it was the kind of match that made me wish I had a capture card. So much blood was spilled by my knives. There isn't a much better feeling than seeing multiple unbroken Knife kills in the killfeed. Many 'splosions, many stabs, many pew pews. I ended up going 19/4 - the best K/D on the team.
I was feeling particularly ballsy, so I decided to run my Officer Minja fit, with a Luis' CR and Nothi's Knives. Unfortunately, I was concentrating so hard on not dying that we lost the match by a hair. And yes, I did lose my Officers when I ran straight into a Minmando, thinking it was a Caldari Light Frame that had just ran around a corner. The Knives are very nice. The charge-up time is basically non-existent, and the movement speed increase whilst charging the Knives is mild but noticeable. The extra damage isn't as noticeable as one might think though, because there aren't many things the Ishukone Nova Knives don't OHK anyway.
Irritatingly, I entered a Skirm with a full squad where our team's MCC only had about half-armour left, whilst the enemys' was still on about half-shields. But, oh, what a close match! Our squad fought hard, and we managed to capture all the Null Cannons. The match ended in a victory, despite our MCC not even having a single tick left! I had to dry my hands on a towel from all the sweat that had accumulated whilst trying to win that match!

I managed to get into a match vs DAAAA BEAST and his Corsy lot. I was watching out for Beast the entire match. I stumbled upon him around a CRU, and, thinking he was using Myos, tried to initiate a duel, Knives vs Fists. Desperately trying to make him understand by bunny-hopping and flailing my Knives around, Beast mowed me down with a BK-42.
I received a message from one of Beast's squadmates, Tal Mrak-Thanl, who the victim of my best Nova Knife kill of the knight. I had launched myself at him whilst strafing like a professional dancer, and slashed his eyes out. The message I received was beautiful; it made my day and filled me with glee:

My weekly K/D currently stands at 5.62; my W/L at 1.66, which is a big improvement from yesterday. I won 7 out of the 9 Skirms I played today.
Overall, today was one of the best days I've had in months. I feel like I deserve thins, considering what I went through over the past two days (Day 7 and Day 8. I would rate the day 9/10. I only fear that the Server Gods expect retribution for the enjoyment I had today...

Day 10 - Bonus Compensation
Some serious stabbin' went on today. I also managed to get closer to achieving one of my goals. Finally, I was able to beat a certain player for the first time in forever, who had always stomped and irritated me.
Got into a couple Skirms wiith Ian The Conquer and DAAAA BEAST, and I got stomping; hard. I think, in all of the three Skirms we played, I only died once, or twice max. I got into a match against olssam 62 and Francessco De Risi, who had always been able to trump me.But this time was differrent! I killed him multiple times and our team 5-capped them! OH, SWEET RETRIBUTION!!!
I was extremely pleased to find that there was a PC scheduled for today; 0.H vs ToP. It was about time I got some action! After resetting and all that jazz, I deployed into the Warbarge. On our side was 15 0.H and Viktor Hadah Jr, and ToP's team was composed of 9 or 10 ToP (including Kardia Scorpio), adn the notable ringers included TheD!ck (may or may not have spelt that right ) and The CutThroater.In the end of the first round, I went 8/5, but if you disregard the 2 of my deaths that were TK's (Thank you Viktor and Zaria ) I would have gone 8/3, which I'd say is pretty good! I even stabbed TheD!ck!
In the re-up, I went 10/4, no TK's. TheD!ck managed to shank me back though.
Both matches were a victory.
Unfortunately, I had to leave before I could play in the final round, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with my performance, especially considering this was the first time I was seriously running my Minja in PC!. I came 6th place in the first match, and 4th place in the second.
Now I'm just itching for more action so I can refine my skills even further...

I even stabbed TheD!ck! In the re-up, I went 10/4, no TK's. TheD!ck managed to shank me back though. Both matches were a victory. Unfortunately, I had to leave before I could play in the final round, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with my performance, especially considering that this was the first time I was seriously running my Minja in PC! I came 6th place in the first match, and 4th place in the second. Now I'm just itching for more action so I can refine my skills even further... Day 11 - Casual Stabbin'
Today was a nice relaxing day...
UNTIL I STARTED PLAYING DUST!!!
I jest, I jest. Today was a very good, chilled, enjoyable day. All I played were a few pub Skirms, but they were all very well balanced and fun. I started out by being thrown into a match vs Pocket Rocket Girl and Bud Greenly, and the match was fairly fierce. In the end, I lost, but it was by a nano-hair. I went 20/7 - best K/D on the team - and stabbed Pocket and Bud multiple times.
Scotty put my squad into a few matches vs DAAAA BEAST and his corsy lot, and fun is always had when fighting them! In one of the matches, I went 13/2, and in another, I went 32/5. I stabbed DAAAA BEAST right in his rump. BEAST has assured me that he will upload the match where I went 32/5, because it was a damn fun match, so keep an eye out for that!
Finally, I ended the day by going 22/1 in a Skirm on Highlands in the same match that PARKOUR PARCTIONER went 31/7.
I'm becoming more famous for my knifing. More people are sending me messages about it, and there are several references to me as a Minja on the forums. You must understand that this means a great deal to me, so naturally, I'm ecstatic!
I'm even showing my head in PC! Soon, I will win the total respect of the PC community; I guarantee you that. Do you think I can achieve that by Day 30? I think I can. You know what though? It would have been all thanks to you guys; my readers. Without your support, my blog - along with myself - would have faded into anonymity. You have molded me (whether it seems like it or not). Day 12 - 'Notice Me, Senpai!'
Fun fun fun in Warlords 1.1!
I played a few rounds of the new mode - Acquisition - and I have mixed opinions, to be honest. Remember that these are the subjective opinions of a Minja though.
Acquisition plays out a bit like Dom and a bit like Bush, both of which are not the Minja's strong suits. It's definitely not as tactical as Skirmish, and there are often lots of easy and irritating ways to die. So many people concentrated at one objective can make it difficult to flank properly. My best score in Acquisition was 11/0, and my worst was 12/3. Overall, I still prefer Skirmish, but I'll carry on testing Acquisition for a bit longer. The thing that worries me - and almost tempted me into transgression - is that I know I would have #R3KT in Acquisition if I were running my Assaults. Of course, I didn't actually put them on and corrupt my progress!
I participated in two PCs today - both against DMG. We lost the first round, but won the re-up, once Blitz got on and kicked our butts into shape. We were short of people for the first round though, and had to use a few dubious ringers. In the first match, I went 20/6; 2nd place! Minja, of course. In the second match, I went 9/6; 10th place. Still, I'm pleased that I was able to go K/D postive both times. I managed to stab TheD1ck again, plus a few other notable guys.
One thing I found interesting was that even though I was scanned occasionally (I was running two Proto Damps - 18DB), it was still ok, and I didn't instantly drop dead (as had been implied to me by 'the vets' )! I just hid amongst the blues until the 'YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED' message disappeared off of my screen.
I'm really getting my act together: it's all coming together. My skills are developing even further, and I feel like I'm starting to make a good impression on people in the PC community - one of my goals. I mean, I must be, if I'm stabbing them over and over, right?
I also bought around 35M ISK's worth of Officer stuff; including about 60 Luis' CRs. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could guarantee me their unwanted Nothi's NOS-47 Nova Knives for when we can finally trade Sidearms.

Day 13 - Paying My Dues
Oh, the pain! The agony! The sorrow! The anger! I experienced all of this whilst playing Dust 514 today.
I decided to give Acquisition another go after last time, and my opinions of it radically changed.
I hate it.
It's absloutly God-awful. It's detestable. It makes me want to curl up in a ball and die. Acquisition is an unholy combination of Domination and Ambush, with none of the tactical aspect of Skirmish that Acquisition was implied to have. All the matches of Acquisition I played were completely one-sided and and frustrating. Although that was just the matchmaking (which I'll talk about in a second), the mode itself has issues. For example, 5 minutes is far too long for an objective to be active. It makes Acquisition feel stagnant, much like Domination. There is also not enough opportunity to earn many WP, meaning that OBs are scarce. If I can help it, I will never play Acquisition ever again. #skirmishmasterrace
Now, the matchmaking. Hoy... Whatever change or modification CCP aquarHEAD made today - and I can tell that there has been a change - I implore it to be undone. The matchmaking is now horrible. I ended up losing most of my matches today in harsh stomps. It was incredibly irritating - to the point where I almost logged off.
I also lost 3 sets of Officer CR and NK in one match, which certainly did not help to improve my mood. I was ready to hit something. The lag was noticeably worse today too. I can only assume that this is what I owe the Server Gods for the enjoyment I've experienced recently.
Things started to improve a bit later on though - not much; just a little bit. I stabbed a couple dudes, sprayed a couple dudes, you know how it goes... I went 20/3 in a match against Master Kail and Pocket Rocket Girl, which I was pretty pleased with.
I also spent about 70M on Officer gear, including 70 CRs, 66 NKs, and 59 SCRs. I'm so poor now: my wallet finally dipped below 200M!
Best Nova Knife kill of the night? Uh... I, er... Hmm... Ah! I had ran out of ammo on my CR and there were no Nanohives or Supply Depots in sight. I spied with my singular rusty eye a Caldari Assault who was engaging my teammates out in the open, completely exposed. I decloaked and sprinted straight at him, head on. I have no idea why he didn't shoot me, because I'm sure he noticed me, and it was a good full 7 seconds of straight sprinting before I reached him and stabbed him in the face. 
Worst fail? I spawned in my Scout MK.0, fitted with a Luis' and Nothi's, and was promptly erradiacated by a stray Core Locus Grenade.
I suspect that I haven't fully repaid my debt to the Server Gods yet, so more bad days are probably on the horizon...

Day 14 - Tax Evasion
Oh ho ho! I managed to be rather slippery today and avoided paying the obscene interest on my debt to the Server Gods, but only just!
Unfortunately, I only managed to play two Skirms today, and I lost both of them, but they were still pretty fun nonetheless.
The first match was vs The Dark Cloud, Gideon McAllistar, and a PFB dude. I managed to carve into The Dark Cloud's thick, juicy Commando CK.0 rump once, and sprayed him down with Six Kin ACR bullets another time. I'm also pretty sure I killed Gideon at least once. At the end of the match, I had gone 7/3 - best K/D on my team - and I recall The Dark Cloud went 12/6. There was a bit of lag, so I probably could have done even better if I had a better connection in that particular match.
The second match was very interesting. On my team was Ian The Conquer and a few 0.H guys, and the enemy team included Shotty GoBang, () and Breakin Stuff. It was an incredibly hard-fought battle, but in the end, our team conceded defeat. Regrettably, I didn't encounter Shotty the entire match, but I stabbed Breakin a few times. The lag got so bad at one point that I had to abbandon a seemingly easy Knife kill because the red was teleporting rather than running. I produced a comparatively fantastic score - 11/1 - when the next best K/D on my team was 10/8, a 1.25 K/D. Ian The Conquer went 12/10, and Shotty went 14/7.
I got ready for a PC against DMG, but irritatingly, we were all kicked from deployment and the contract disappeared from our Battle Finders. I was really looking forward to an opportunity to tangle with TheD1ck again...
Best Nova Knife kill today; when I put The Dark Cloud on my dinner table and carved him up like a Christmas Turkey - a tasty meal for all the family!
Worst fail; definitely when I tried to stab that Amarr Assault but the lag said 'lolno'.

Day 15 - Just Another Day in the Office!
Whooooooaaaaa, we're halfway there!!!
That's right, we're halfway through our journey of returning to the Path of the Minja, and it's been a fun ride! Some bad days, some good days, and some serious zen-chasing. I look forward to what the other half throws at me!
Today I got into a Skirm vs a nearly full FA squad. In this squad was Gavr1lo Pr1nc1p, Devin Xer, xTheSiLLyRaBBiTx, Jigoku No ReizaSan, and one other. In my squad was... uh... some 0.H guys... and... uh... DAMMIT!!! I can't remember...
Anyways, I managed to frontal-knife Devin Xer whist he was hiding around a corner whilst in a socket. I just dashed in there and slashed his Assault AK.0 face off. I sprayed him down another time, and I killed xTheSiLLyRaBBiTx at least once. Finally, I got Gav with an OB. Jigoku managed to stab me just as I was about to stab him when we bumped into each other as we rounded a corner though... We lost the match, but I went 11/2 - best K/D of either team - and Gav went 8/4. I can't quite recall what the other guys went.
I then rang for Heaven84 Devils against Grupo De whatever they're called. We won the match, and I went 15/5! \o/ H84D The General's French accent nearly made me soil myself whist he was FCing though...
Overall, it was a good day. I suspect the Server Gods' agents will be knocking on the doors to my Mercenary Quarters very shortly though...

Day 16 - 'Just Call Me Stompy McStomperton'
So much blood, all spilled by my hand... Or rather, spilled by my blades...
I got to catch up with my old friend Bright Steel today and we got a'stabbin' and a''shootin' together. Obviously, I tried to perform at my best, you know me, always trying to make a good impression. Overall, I'd say I accomplished this. Whilst I did have one particular match where I got caught on terrain and went 11/5 whilst Bright Steel went 10/4 (which led to him goating in Nova Knifers United about how he had gotten a better score than me ), I soon regained my face by wrecking others' faces, going 30/1 in a Skirmish on the Gallente Research Facility.
I was absolutely humbled and touched when Bright Steel said:

Best of all though, DAAAA BEAST uploaded a video of me at my prime, the match where I went 32/5 and stabbed DAAAA BEAST right in his face! Please check it out!

Looking at it now, it will probably take a bit longer than Day 30 to earn TOTAL respect. Don't get me wrong though: I'm showing my face in PC more regularly now, and I'm becoming more well-known amongst the PC crowd. Viktor has played with me a few times now, for example.

Regardless of what everyone seems to be saying, I still find the Cloak to be extremely useful and absolutely necessary on all my Scout fits. The Cloak has saved my life countless times, and has assisted me in getting countless kills.

Day 17 - A Beautiful Reuinon
With the sun beaming down on us, we ran to each other across the lush green meadow, arms outstretched. Meeting in the middle, he leapt into my arms. Pink angelic flower petals swirled around us as we twirled on the spot. Slowing down, I lowered his feet to the ground. Gently resting my right hand on the side of his face, I gradually lent closer. 'Crimson...' I whispered in his ear.
'Dreis...' he panted.
NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNGER AUDIENCES
Ah, yes! After about 20 or so days of being unable to access his PS3, my best bud Crimson Shieid finally returned to Dust! Oh, how I had missed him! Seeing his name in NKU again brought joy to my withered heart. After some introductions and what not, we got into a squad together and played a few Skirms. Now, I was determined to make a good impression after not seeing him for so long!
The first match, I went 13/5 whilst he went something like 14/4. I had gotten caught on the terrain once and was spawn-killed another time. Ah, but I was just warming up, I proclaimed, for the next match I was able to go a respectable 20/2. I had regained face in front of my one and only. \o/
I played a bunch of matches where Crimson and I stabbed hand in hand. Some times he melee'd though, and other times he used an Assault. I do recall that his Thukker MN-L SKIN stirred my loins though...
One particular match (where Crimson sat out to finalise a trade) was especially interesting. In my squad (among others) was Daichi Saisho and 1st Lieutenant Tiberius, and the opposition consisted of a full G.L.O.R.Y. squad - including Markus Caldrone and Mortishai Belmont - who were all running full Officer. A ferocious match ensued. I did badly at the beginning of the match, but I soon turned it around once I got my head on straight. We just barely lost the match by MCC, but the G.L.O.R.Y. team was very nearly cloned. I went 20/5 and Tibs went 23/15.
Later, I got into an 0.H PC vs Planet Express. That was a very close match, albeit we lost. I was one of only 5 0.H guys on my team who went K/D positve. I went 5/4 and came 5th place. GG to Planet Express: I hope to have more fights like that soon with you guys!
Overall, it was a fantastic day. I had reunited with Crimson, and I had performed well in a PC.
Notable people encountered today: Crimson Shieid, 1st Leiutenant Tiberius, Mortishai Belmont, Markus Kaldrone, Grand Master Kubo and his Planet Express lot, most of 0.H.

So, Min Ass with a SG... Yeah, they can be really annoying, and they thrive in enclosed spaces and sockets like the Cargo Hub in PC. Firstly, I would beg your FC to reassign you to your HP or outside. Scouts perform best in wide open spaces.
But if you have to stay in the city, here's my advice/what I would do vs Assaults with Shotguns:
Don't just blindly rush into the maze (you know what I mean? Also known as the acid pits), if you don't know 100% what's there. Instead, look down long-ways before heading in. If you imagine the maze as a grid (or a chess board), you can look down the path facing the Control Panel without putting yourself at too much risk. You can also check the other end of the grid this way. Then, if it seems clear, run along the outside edges of the grid, looking in whilst you do so. You should be able to mostly detect any hostiles this way. If you're heading deep into the maze, be uncloaked, and have your knives drawn, because you're likely to bump into someone headfirst. NEVER try to knife a shotgunner though, even if he has his back to you.6This especially applies to Mi Assauts; they strafe like a MOFO. Always try to spray him down. I would recommend using the Six Kin Assault Combat Rifle on your PC Scout fit, because it doesn't take up much fitting space, and it performs well under laggy conditions, unlike the Boundless Combat Rifle.
If you're focusing on Bravo, just as before, always look down the longways before dashing in. Don't try to push Bravo directly from stairs opposite the CRU: get into the pocket adjacent to Bravo first. Don't feel the need to go for your knives straight away, because this is ofteny ineffective and suicidal. Try to use your gun if you can from a distance or to spray someone in CQC.
TBH, I hate speedhacking, usually because if you need to speedhack a point to capture it, you probably won't have the power to continue to hold it. Your priority should really be stabbing fatties in the back, dropping links, and destroying enemy links. This is why Fluxes are essential in a PC city Scout fit.
The best time to engage is when you've already flanked them and they're already focusing on your teammates.
To effectively flank, just come in from the opposite direction that your team is pushing from.

Day 18 - They Came for Blood
A dank chill spread over me as I heard a Mercedes pull up outside my Mercenary Quarters. Gravel crunched underneath heavy boots as my eyes widened. My door was smashed open, and two thuggish-looking men entered.
'Dreis' one said, 'you haven't made your repayments.'
'I-It's in the mail!' I pleaded.
'Not good enough' he said, as his wrecking ball of a fist slammed into my face, crushing my nose.
I fell backwards and tripped over the small coffee table. Bright crimson flew across the room, marking my decent to the floor...
Oh, what a horrible day I've had today! The Server Gods' agents finally came, and they came for blood. Ridiculously long wait times, horrific stomps, bad hit detection, and just plain bad luck made today pretty terrible.
I was playing a Skirm when I came across two reds hacking a Null Cannon. Easy prey I though. Ah, but the agents had a different plan. After licking my knives, I charged them and killed one of the guys. So far, so good. Here's the weird and annoying thing though: I charged my knives and swung, but no damage was dealt. I was definitely within range, but I only saw a blue shield flare. Whist I was desperately trying to finish him off before he could finish his hack, a rouge enemy knifer came up and stabbed me; a knifer I would have avoided had the hit detection been in my favour.
That same match, an Incubus killed me no less than three times in a row WITH A PARTICLE CANNON. I thought those things were supposed to be AV, yet that seemed to to a damn good job of bending me over the secretary's table...
I then invited Crimson Shield to my squad, and we played one Acquisition (only because he was pressed for time), much to my dismay. Lo and behold, I was blapped by a Gunnlogi with YET ANOTHER PARTICLE CANNON who was sitting waaaaaaaaay in the redline!
I played a Skirm against Grupo de whatever they're called, and damn, it was annoying. If they saw me, they would genuinely chase me halfway across the map. They would pick up people as they went, and pretty soon it felt like the entire team was chasing me all the way across the match! It was basically just like this, which, incidentally, was playing in the background at the time.
At the end of the day, I got into a close match against RND and Joel II X. It genuinely felt like a PC match - the lag was there at least. This was the only good match of the day, and it was very close. We won in the end, and I managed to get a 6 KILL OB! I performed exceptionally well, and went 18/2. Yonkou Ifrit - who was on my team - later went on to claim that I was camping a CRU. 'How could I have hacked the CRU when it was swarming with reds' I thought. I HAD to kill them first...
All in all, it was a pretty bad day. I can only hope that I've fully repaid my debt to the Server Gods now...

Day 19 - Licking my Wounds
It seems that - for the most part - the Server Gods' agents have left me alone after the damage they caused yesterday. Perhaps this means I've repaid my debt...? Knowing me though I'll probably end up taking out more happiness loans, getting myself into more trouble...
Today was a pretty good day. I ran with a nearly full 0.H squad and we played a few Skirms. In one match, we were put against DAAAA BEAST and Ripley Riley (who was in a full squad of Incorruptibles). I managed to kill BEAST once with my CR, and another time with a Blaster Installation (which is seriously OP btw ). I killed Ripley once with a CR too. Sadly though, whilst I was busy manning (camping ) the Installation, BEAST came 'round from the back and stabbed me.
I've been [url=https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2761652#post2761652]having issues with my inertia-dampener not negating fall damage, and I've so far lost two Proto suits to it. That was a little annoying, so I guess I'll be sticking to ground-spawns from now on until I've been assured that the problem has been fixed: it's not worth the risk.
It seems that I always Fatal Error too on the new MCC Construction map: it happened again today. I've been meaning to make a thread about that...
Finally, I got into a Skirm against a near-full FA squad. I went 8/3 and came 1st place! I definitely killed Devin Xer, and I'm pretty sure I got a few of his squad-mates a few times too. The only irritating thing was when I was closing in on an Assault AK.0 and BOOM - Nothi's Nos-47 Nova Knives to the face by THUNDERGROOVE, who was using a detestable Scout GK.0.
I'm feeling really confident with my knifing. This marathon has done wonders to improve my skill. I strongly encourage anyone who wants to improve in any particular role to #takethedreischallenge.
The only worrisome thing though is that I've recently been feeling the urge put on my Assault AK.0 again and use my SCR. I bought around 60 Darth's, so I can't just let them go to waste, right?
[b]Ah, but I mustn't! At least, not until I've completed my 30 days of pure-Minja. We're 2/3 of the way there, and I have a premonition that this final third is going to be the most interesting of all...

Day 20 - Knifing Apathy
Today was one of those really generic days where nothing of particular note happened. I played a few matches, killed a few guys, died a few times, same old, same old...
I need something to spice my knifing up. Maybe it's just getting boring because I've been exclusively runing my Minja fo 20 days now... I keep fantasising about charging up a SCR again... What can I do to get excited about stabbing dudes again?
I know the answer, really: I need to run something else. Running only one suit when I have access to many makes the game monotonous. Regardless, I have promised myself and others that I will see this marathon through to the end, and I have no intention of going back in my word. I also promised 100M ISK to whoever spots me using my Assaults during this period. Since I spent about 70M on Officer gear already, I'm not particularly keen on losing much more ISK.
The game's I've been playing have been boring and slow. I haven't had a high kill-count match in quite a few days. The last one I had, I went 30/1. Now THAT was fun. I haven't broken 20 kills in what feels like forever.
I think I've been too obsessed with my K/D for too long, and this may what's restricting me from having fun, or really letting loose. Now that I'm getting more involved in PC, I need to realise that K/D is meaningless. Truth be told, I do know this. When I'm actually playing though, I can't help but get hung up about it.
What can I do to spark my interest in knifing again? Help me out, guys.

Day 21 - Mixing Up My Routine
Oh me, oh my! After repeatedly getting my teeth kicked in in Skirm, I thought, '**** it: it can't get much worse than this', and went and queued Dom.
Now, recently, I said that I hated Dom, and that it's bad for Minjas, but I think I'm going to have to retract this statement. I had a blast playing three Doms today! It was so exciting! I'd been in a rut for a little while now, but I believe this came from the monotony of running the saaaaaaame fit in the saaaaaaaame game mode, over and over, for no less than 20 days (except for trying Acq once it came out). Running Dom was like a breath of fresh air. In the first one, I went 29/1.
Knifing was fun again!
In the next match, I went 13/2. Still pretty good. The third match happened when everyine started DCing (at the time, I thought everyone was backing out, and I was soooooo p*ssed ), and it ended 1v5. I went 13/8 though, which is pretty good considering that, at one point, it was, like, 10v2 or 10v3. I even managed to kill an old friend/rival/enemy - Dragon11213 Steel - a total of three times! But damn, Cal Assaults are ridiculously difficult to stab reliably.
I had been put off Dom on the first day of the new matchmaking, when I had a terribly uneven game where I was bent over and poked repeatedly ()... After that, I just stuck to Skirm. I think I'll be playing Dom more often now though. Hopefully, it will make the game less boring...

Day 22 - Putting on a Good Performance to the PC Crowd
The end of my marathon draws closer, and I want to make as much progress as I can during the final week. As I look back now, I can see not only the change in my performance, but the change in my attitude as well. I continue to improve; continue to strive to be the best Minja in the game. Yesterday, someone claimed that I could never become the best Minja because I don't play 'hardmode Scout'.

To me, this is just downright silly. I was created after the Cloak was introduced, so I've never experienced a DUST without them. Not to mention the fact that mr musturd used a Cloak too, and that was when they were much more OP than they are now. mr musturd simply made the most out of his resources at the time, just as I do now. Also, 'hardmode' is generally the cry of those who simply find it difficult to compete, and so try to make themselves feel better by claiming that they are doing something much more difficult than others. I believe that, if anything, I'm at least smart enough to utilise my suit to it's full potential.
I played a Dom with 1st Lieutenant Tiberius and 3 other 0.H guys, and, whilst we lost, one of the things Tibs said made me very proud.

This is important to me because unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control, I hadn't been able make the best of impressions to Tibs. Specifically, he said that I didn't push points enough. As I've already said, this wasn't because I didn't push points, but rather because he didn't actually personally SEE me do it. I relished in that I was able to influence his opinion of me in this match.
Later, 0.H rang for Planet Express against The Last H0pe. We won, and I went 13/5 - the most kills on the team! I also came 5th place with about 1200 WP. Silver Strike44 was in that match, and he's one person I particularly want to impress, in the hope of one day being added to his list of relvant players.
For any aspiring Minjas looking to be effective in PCs, here's a little tidbit of advice; something I've discovered - Gal Logis aren't actually as much of a problem for Minjas as most people make out. Whilst I would recommend using at least 2 Complex Dampeners on a Minja in PC, if you get lit up by a Focused Scanner, you can just hide with the blues for a little while, then make sure you flank WIDE to get around the scans.
My favourite thing to hear over my teams' comms is 'Dreis, you can go outside'. As a Minja, I require wide-open spaces, lots of fresh air, and companionship to keep me happy and healthy.
So, overall, it's been good day today! Oh, I also went back to Skirm for a little while, and went 23/2 in one match.

To cut it short, basically today I've moved from exclusively using Proto gear to toying around with Advanced gear. And, no, it's not because I went broke spamming Proto! For over 6 hours today, I've been using an Advanced Minja. The results are rather interesting. For the most part, I don't seem to be doing particularly worse than when I use Proto. Obviously, I don't do EXACTLY as well, which is to be expected, but I still do well enough to reassure myself that I don't NEED Proto. I've been enjoying the recklessness of just going 'LEEEEEROOOOOOOY JEEEEEEENKIIIIIIINSSSSS' and caring less about dying, due to the relative cheapness of Advanced fits. In one match, I went 32/7 (got Thale'd 3 times ) using my Advanced fits

Using Advanced gear will definitely help me to improve. Once I get to the level where I perform, when using Advanced gear, as I used to do when I ran Proto, it will mean that when I go back to using Proto, it'll feel like I'm running Officer. Also, it might put the claims that I need Proto gear to be competitive to rest.
I played many different modes, including Skirm, Dom and Acq. TBH, Acq and Dom aren't so horrible if you're not constantly hung up about dying. Skirm's still my favourite though.
DAAAA BEAST managed to stab me from behind in one match, but in that same match I also stabbed X-LA in the face whilst he was also running Knives.
Overall, a pretty good day, and I'll see how long running Advanced lasts.

Day 24 - Meeting a Legend
Today, I came face-to-face with a legend, a hero; one of my idols. Logging on, I spied none other than Radar R4D-47! Sending him some smooshy mail where I hailed him as one of the great Nova Knifers who inspired me to pick up the Knives myself, I convinced him to join Nova Knifers United! It was so... satisfying... to see his name in my channel; the channel that he himself, among others, is responsible for the creation of.
I got into a nearly-full 0.H squad with Radar and others, and we queued up for some Ambush. Whilst I dislike Ambush, I decided not to protest. Gosh, I was just so excited to squad with him. In the first match, Radar brought out some Officer Nova Knives that had been donated to him. I think he lost them though. Reassuringly, I didn't perform too badly; even doing fairly well, going 8/1. In the second match, we played Acquisition, and I was able to secure second place by hacking most of the Panels and dropping Links.
Later, I played Acquisition with a squad, and I got fairly annoyed when it turned into a 7v15. Even some members of my own squad backed out. I'll have to reconsider the next time I think about inviting them. Know this:
IF YOU'RE IN MY SQUAD AND YOU BACK OUT OF A MATCH FOR NO GOOD REASON OTHER THAN RAGE, I PROBABLY WON'T BE INVITING YOU AGAIN.
I then played a Skirm, and I raged SO HARD at my squad when they refused to follow orders, didn't drop Uplinks, and overall just didn't push hard enough. Looking back on it, I still feel that my ire was justified.
Overall, I was very pleased to have met and played with one of my idols - Radar R4D-47, but I was annoyed because of a few matches that went bad. Not a terrible day though.

Day 25 - What a Day!
Oh boy, so much happened today!
To kick things off, I played some Ambush with Shotty GoBang (which was great because I hardly ever get the opportunity to squad with him) and some 0.H guys (in separate squads), and, to my great horror, I actually had fun!
In one match, I pulled out my Proto Minja for lolz, and I #reked all the things, which was probably in part due to my skills improving from having ran Advanced gear over the last couple of days. The extra HP allowed me to pull off a beautifully savage frontal-knife against a Gallente Assault. I even stabbed a shotgunner in the back! In the end, I went 14/0. It was exhilarating. I think having a decent squad is what makes Ambush likable. My previous experiences in Ambush were when I was solo, or didn't have a decent squad, and I feel that this distorted my view of the game mode. I think I'll run a few more Ambushes every now and then.
In one Ambush where I was squadded with 1st Lieutenant Tiberius and Devillish Killzone, everyone backed out but us, yet we still won! Obviously we didn't clone them, but we managed to have more clones left at the end of the match than the 13 guys that were chasing us all the way across the map.
Later, I played in a PC where I was ringing for Planet Express against Dead Man's Game - it was ringers-galore though. The DMG team included zDemoncake, JUPA SACH and The CutThroater, and our team was made up of Kardia Scorpio and 1st Lieutenant Tiberius, among others. Unfortunately though, we were around 6 guys down, and we lost the match - as was to be expected. Still though, I managed to come 3rd place, going 7/6 - the only guy on our team to go K/D positive. I also managed to stab zDemoncake several times.
I ran into a full squad of my old corp - T.H.I.R.D R.O.C.K - in a Skirm, and I unashamedly threw my Proto on, because, truth be told, I wanted to kick their teeth in. They all backed out.
To round off the day, I got into a Skirm against a full NF. squad, and among the enemy team was Aeon Amadi, Antwaaaan Cuuh, Crimson Moon V, and Hearr. It was a incredibly tough fight, and it felt like a PC - the lag was certainly there! We won by just a smidgen of MCC, and I went 7/3, 2nd place - which was damn good looking at my other teammates' scores! I even managed to stab Aeon Amadi once! \o/
Today really was a fantastic day. I'm sure that the subsequent days will be absolutely terrible though, as to recompense the Server Gods.

Day 26 - Ah, My Blood Pressure...
Alright, let's keep this short and sweet: I know we all have busy lives to return to.
Today, I played a few Ambushes. For the most part it sucked, but in one match, we beat a full squad of Carne Con Papas - including Kaizuka Sniper.
I played an Acquisition that made me want to tear my hair out. We were pretty much dominated the entire match, and the blues almost instantly gave up. I went 9/9.
I absolutely lost my sh!t when my entire squad and the rest of my team backed out of a Skirm vs AddictPunk and some other guys from The Last H0pe. I went 0/5, but at least I had the balls to stay till the end. My rage couldn't be put into words. I swear, I was thiiiiiiiis close to biomassing.
The day pretty much carried on like this until I finally got into a Skirm vs Shotty GoBang and co. Unfortunately, I didn't kill Shotty, but the match was damn close, and I was genuinely shocked when the Victory screen popped up. I managed to go 18/3.
I've found myself missing my Assaults - particularly my AK.0 - more and more recently. I'm so close to the end though, and I won't corrupt my progress. The main purpose of my Minja marathon was to imrpove my skills and reallign myself with the playstyle. Since I've come so far, I can't stop now! I've also promised 100M ISK to anyone who spotted me using my Assaults within the 30 days, so...
Once the 30 days are over, I will use my Assaults again. I won't go back to them totally though. I intend to main as a Minja, but I'll use the Assaults for fun every now and again, to stave off the monotony of running a single suit for too long.
They say that time makes the heart grow fonder, and I think that's what's making me miss my Assaults. I also bought about 60 Darth's, so...

Day 27 - So Much Meh
To cut a long story short, today has been quite bad, and DUST in general is getting boring. I desperately want to run my Assaults again.
I ran Skirm, got stomped, got p!ssed, and solo queued for Dom because I couldn't get any squads. In the Dom, we were nearly instantly redlined, and I left the match.
I queued for MFW solo and, to my surprise, was put in a match with 7 other 0.H on my side. I bet the reds thought we were Q-Syncing. We won by a landslide, as was to be expected. In the next match, I ran into Cuse Town333 and his lot, and we had a pretty tough fight. I recall that I did pretty well, coming 1st place. I can't remember my K/D though...
Saddeningly, I'm counting down the days to the end of my marathon like a child counts down the days for Christmas. Everything just feels so boring now; so monotonous. Running my Minja is really feeling like a chore now, as is writing my blog. I just need to spice my gameplay up. I keep making Assault fits on Protofits, and I've been imagining what it would be like to run a Cal Assault. On Protofits, I made a fit that had over 600 Shields, a 2 second regen delay, and regen at 52HP/second. Now, that's a fit I'd love to run!
Don't get me wrong: the Min Scout is a fantastic suit, and is a hell of a lot of fun to run, but running it exclusively for so long makes it really boring...

Day 28 - Breaking Apathy with PC
Alright let's see...
I played some Skirms, and they were very frustrating; not particularly surprising, I guess... Nothing of particular note happened in them, except for me getting very, very angry. I'm finding myself disliking DUST more and more everyday.
I got into an 0.H PC vs The Last H0pe, and I was pretty fun, I guess. I was just defending the bridge all match, so there wasn't much for me to do. Consequently, I came 11th place, but I did go 7/2. My first death was when I stabbed a Min Assault. Both charged swipes connected, yet he somehow still lived, ad he jumped above my a blew me to smithereens with an Officer Mass Driver. My second death was from an OB. Even though we lost by a hair, I still performed well in the job that I was assigned to do. We held the bridge for pretty much the entire game. I even killed AddictPunk once.
So yeah, that was basically it.
Notable people encountered: all of 0.H, AddictPunk, Jack Krausenerr, Memoldia Guzman (or however you spell it ), Ian The Conquer.

I very rarely leave matches. If I leave a match, it's best that you don't talk to me for about half an hour, because I'm probably absolutely fuming: it takes a lot to get me to back out.

Day 29 - Ringing for Random Gunz
Today was a very good, fun day.
After playing an average Skirmish, I heard that Random Gunz needed ringers for a couple of PC's against X-Treme Stars. I eagerly put myself forward.
The first match was exciting. It was on the 3-in 2-out map. I did fairly well, coming 6th place, if my memory serves well, going 16/7. I stabbed one Sentinel AK.0 multiple times.
The second match was also very fun. I went 8/3 and came in the top ten. It could have been 7th place, 3rd place, 5th place; I genuinely can't remember. I was learning more and more from each match, and I was making the right moves more often. Unfortunately though, I accidentally teamkilled David WD by stabbing him. I had meant to switch to my Cloak and activate it, but a pang of lag hit and I ended up just slashing my Knives instead. I felt so embarrassed, particularly because it looked like I had just teamkilled him for absolutely no reason. I apologised afterward to him and the entire team, and reimbursed David.
The third match was my best, and I came 2nd place going 9/1. I managed to take vengeance on Diablo Gamekeeper TWICE, who managed to kill me the match before when I had messed up a stab attempt and ended up teleporting infront of him.
There were several big names in those matches, so I was very pleased to have done well.
Tomorrow though will be a very important day: it marks the end of my Minja marathon. Then, I will respec out of this God-forsaken rubbish suit.
Just kidding.

Day 30 - Crucifying the Prophet
Ah, what a way to end my marathon... The Server Gods threw absolutely everything they could at me. I experienced probably the worst day in my DUST career today. That's rather fitting, isn't it?
The first Skirm I played was, unfortunately, my best match of the night. I was in J0lly R0g3r's squad and we deployed into the Gal Research Facility. I managed to come 1st place, going 20/5. The days got progressively worse from there though...
I got all prepped and ready to ring for Planet Express, when it turned out that the opposition had no-showed. The blues didn't have the self-control to not teamkill each other. I think they cost their district a total of around 50 clones. I managed to be a victim of their lustful rampage only once.
Finally, I was able to squad up with Kaze Eyrou in what seemed like months. Nothing ever seems to go well on the few occasions that we do get to play together, and this time was no exception. We deployed into a Skirm against a team full of FA and TP. They ended up capturing all of our points, and many of us went K/D negative. I managed to go 16/7 (I think ) with the aid of a timely OB, netting me 3 kills. One thing that Kaze said stood out for me:

Rather, it means that the worst it over. I made it through the eye of the storm, and there are sunny skies on the horizon.
I'll give a full conclusion and summary of my marathon in a separate post though: this post is only relevant to Day 30.

Summary and Conclusion
So, here we are. We made it. A full 30 days of Minja exclusivity. First thing's first:
LET'S CELEBRATE!!! WOO HOO!!! I'LL BRING THE CHAMPAGNE!!!
Let's take a quick look back over what's happened in these 30 days. Over my DUST career, if I've learned anything, it's that 30 days is a heck of a long time, and a lot can change in that time.
When I started, I was a wee baby in an angry, terrifying world. Day after day, I learned; I grew; I improved. I think it's fair to say that I have surpassed my previous self in nearly every way, and I continue to improve.
The most remarkable thing I think I've accomplished is how I've been able to throw myself out there. Many people who never even knew me before now recognise me as an accomplished Minja. I'm mainly talking about the PC crowd here. I've played as a Minja in PC with:

I was also stabbed myself, by One Eyed King and DAAAA BEAST, among others.
Before I had begun my marathon, I was terrified of running my Minja in PC, for fear of being obliterated, and reality crashing down on me, that I could never run my Minja competitively. I'm relieved to report, though, that after playing in many PCs during my 30 days, that not only is the Minja viable in a competitive environment, but also that I'm pretty good at it!
So where do we stand now? Well, if I were to go into a PC now, I think that there's a fair chance that a few of the guys on the enemy team would say 'Ah, that's Dreis. He's gonna run a Minja.' This is good, and it was definitely one of my aims.
For a long time, I had said that I wanted to be like Moody or musturd. I said that I wanted to surpass them. I've changed my mind though, thanks to some wise words said to me by Spademan and J0lly R0g3r in The Barbershop.
I no longer aspire to be like Moody or musturd. I aspire to be Dreis.
The future's looking bright! What's to become of your favourite plucky Minja, I hear you ask? Well, only time will tell. I suspect though that I'll get even more involved in PCs. I suspect that I'll make new friends, make new enemies, rage, threaten to biomass, and still come crawling back. That is the nature of DUST. One thing's for sure though: I will never forsake myself again. I'm a Minja through and through! it is my destiny.
I thank you, my dear readers, for coming on this heartwarming and turbulent journey with me. I've seen many of you in-game, and if I haven't, I hope we meet soon. For all I know, we may cross blades.

I think that running Minja is even harder for me now, since I used to be a master of strafing. Assaults - especially the Min Assault - are easier to stab now though because they no longer dance as fast as they used to.
