No. CCP has held the reigns this long, got it this far, and have made and fixed many mistakes. They are still learning, and working with something that didn't start off great, and no denying it has not come far. It might not be the best game , but it's it's(wtf) own game , and ccp is it's own company. They have grown big, and tbh I applaud them for leaping into this as they did and still holding on, and eventually turning profits. This game might not go far, it may die here on the ps3... however ccp will go on, and they will carry with them the experiences and lessons of Dust , and hopefully come out with a new masterpiece that can't be matched down the road.
It sucks dust didn't live up to it's expectations , but it still did it's own thing , and I like it. Especially with the connection to Eve online |

The reason you feel that your ideas are knocked down so easily is because you're too narcissistic to consider what you say could be wrong, or what others say will not be in accordance with your opinion. Forums are meant to provoke thought, it's not a circlejerk where idiots tell each other how right they are. EA is far from being the worst company in the world, it's one of the wealthiest in the videogame sector which represent a LOT of money. It just has a DLC policy, which sucks, but everybody's still buying cause EA knows how to advertise, and make things look better than what they actually are. EA is the Michael Bay of game developers, they know how to make big explosions and get money, but lack depth. CCP is the like Christopher Nolan starting out his directing career, great ideas with a niche audience. Well not really, Christopher Nolan makes his ideas come true and realise wonderful movies. CCP does trailers about stuffs that were never (and will never be) released.
well , on another engine , (probably on pc too) ccp had a lot of other stuff. They have tested it, it existed , it just never made it here. Can't recall what it was they were testing on, but if it was attempted on the ps3 it would have melted them all.
It even had 64 v 64 battles , that they tested and supposedly it worked |

It just grinded my gears a little bit to understand (too many it is, and i just woke up *yawn*) "It's its own game. CCP is its own company." Just the wrong "its" yu were using, nothing wrong w/ that. Now to the real reason why I quoted you. It IS its own game, that connects with another game BY CCP... In a weird way. In the end, without tranquility... Dust wouldn't be dust. Giving Dust "away" to non CCP gives the chance for somethings to screw up.. It also means lots of copyrighted material would change reeeeal quick. tl;dr - In the end, thats the end of dust... It'll change so much, that it wouldn't be dust. Change engines shure, change developers? No no no.
lol, thanks , it killed me to type it.I was like how the hell do I convey this without it looking ****** up , ahh **** it!
I still didn't get to fully explain myself by what I meant with it either. Dust , as like Eve is meant to be a persistent universe that continues and grows and wages war , full of conquest and defeat. Political mumbo jumbo meetings , big hats sitting in a war room discussing the future while meat is fed to the grinder..for years, and more years. It is sad that it had to start out on the ps3, but it had to start out somewhere. Knowing how CCP already rolls before dust launched , i knew we would get things slowly over a span of years.
They do not want Dust , Dust 2 , Dust 3 , Dust 4... just Dust, to co-exist with their other special kid Eve Online..which has continued to be it's own game since 2003 , and has more years to come. That is an excellent track record for a single game, and i love it. This is why CCP most always will have my respect, even if this did not turn out how they wanted it. They want to take their work serious for the long run , that won't happen here now being on the ps3. However it laid out plenty of ground work for it to maybe happen in the future. I would rather them fail , and say they tried , and had this awesome vision they attempted..than to squander it all by bringing in an outside group who will take away plenty of what makes it special, have no clue on the story and backdrop , to rush out some shiny shooter , that they will want to make a sequel of next year after. |

It even had 64 v 64 battles ( may have even tried 128 v 128) and had a goal of 256 on each side ( that **** would be crazy) , that they tested and supposedly it worked Yep, but it never happened :) That's exactly what I was saying, they never do what they say they'll do ^^
would you rather they released it and all of us need to buy another ps3 with a 50 dollar ooops rebate? |

Something else , just because someone says we would like to see...does not mean we will make. Not saying they have not said we will make, but there is a lot that people seem to think was promised, that never really was..they just shared their vision with us..fk them for being upfront right! |

What? No. I'd rather have them do xhat they say they'll do that's simple.
They dreamed big , and it hurt them. Had the hopes of the pro's , the resources and talent of the drop outs ( console development). Aside from starting new ( which I guess is what legion was meant to be? never even looked into it.) there isn't much they can do now. A few things here and there , but we can't still be holding onto their dreams and our wants as this has been realized for a while now. I'm just happy they still give it attention, and with that , maybe the dream still lives , and one day it connects us. They have plenty of time. They do not have super computers and servers running eve with a skill tree and progression that takes like 35 years to complete for nothing. It might be another 5 years, who knows, or never.. |
