That third party sends the item to the buyer and sends the ISK to the seller, minus 5% for transaction fees. Pick a third party who actually values their reputation. A fraud might make a little ISK on a one time score, while an upstanding business man will make himself rich skimming 5% off every transaction without ever scamming anyone. People who already handle EVE/DUST isk exchange, or Alliance joining and other Corporate services already have a verifiable business history. If their business advertisement threads don't contain any complaints, then they probably have not ripped anyone off. Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I think Jadek's shtick is that he is "the most honest scammer in New Eden" or "the least honest non-scammer in New Eden." To my knowledge, he has not actually scammed anyone though he does like the infamy. I'm waiting for a more refined and open trading system. It probably won't ever come , but this is a start I guess.
