How about instead of allowing no trading at all, we allow ISK based items (and their Aurum equivalents) to be tradeable from the start, and then everything else at loyalty rank 4?
CCP rightfully anticipated exploits such as using alts to give you extra warbarge component production, experimental weapon production, the free booster from the recruitment link, and all the free stuff from the newsletters (omega boosters and officer weapons). But not allowing new players to trade at all is off putting and not ideal for the NPE. This proposal should fix that.
Am I overlooking an exploit?

Newsletter rewards are sort of an exploit...except that requires having played the long con.

Real question: What would someone with ISK want with ISK based items? TBH, I'd rather buy it from the market than mess with someone.
Can I haz ur ISK?
Do you have officer gear or rare items to sell or trade? Message me in game with details.

@JL3Eleven They originally had the idea that they could undercut the NPC vendor with bulk orders.

I think I have missed something. What is this "the trading restrictions at Loyalty Rank 4" of which you speak?

What if it's a new player who joined a corp and a corp mate has a stash of suits from salvage that the new player could use?
Hmm this makes me thing a new player should receive trades regardless just not trade. Maybe that's how it is?

Are loyalty points passively gained? Because they should be. And whenever they do something game-breakingly illegal, they get a temp halt on their Loyalty points?
But ehh...
What if players get taxed on these simple tradings based on their loyalty, with level 4 being the 0% tax? Edit: It doesn't have to be by percentage. Could just be an actual amount of ISK. Lvl 1 - 2000 ISK, Lvl 2 - 1000 ISK, Lvl 3 - 500 ISK, Lvl 4 - 0 ISK.
I can see why this might be an issue but at the same damn time, players are already getting screwed out of trading.

A s someone else already suggested: how about active player trading? So when someone sends an item the other must accept it or it will not be send... |

So abandon that rank 4 crap ( or reduce it to lvl 2) and bring active player trading.... But then what about legitimate siblings/roommates who share a PS3? Restricting what can be traded by rank seems more full proof

Yeah except that even though I play dust since chromosome and have 27k kills I'm still sitting with loyalty rank 3 with 6300 points missing for you the next rank....well which excludes me from trading as whole. |
