Which one should i use? So far Passive Scan doesn't work on my Alt Gallente Scout Character, but my Profile does, the only time a RedBerry appears on my Map is when they're fire their gun, so it's like Active Scan is going to be it then.
But what do you guys think? |

I never cared for active scans, just another stupid SP sink in my eyes. Passive still works well enough for me though it would be nice if it was slightly better.
This is New Eden, I mean if you don't have a quafeski in your hand you might as well be wearing a dress.

Active scans are better, but passive scans can be good if you skill up your scan range and precision. Unless you are very close you will only pick up heavies and logis, but if you fit a precision mod you can also pick up assaults.
Bear in mind any passive scanning only really works at relatively short range compared with active, so it's most useful in built up areas where enemies are close.
Also remember that, unlike active scans, the opponent's direction is not shown, and it doesn't work whilst cloaked, unless you are literally sitting on the enemy. |

And also lag causes targets to not show up until it is too late anyway.

What levels are your passive skills?
What level is your scout?
And do you use passive scans mods? And if so, which ones and levels?

None, i used to use Milita Precision Scanners, which got my Scan Precision to 25 dB but still didn't detect people not even at close range, like i said, the only time someone popped up on radar as they're shooting their gun...

I just tried the Active Scanners & they work better for my Scout, at least i know where people are so i can plan my actions, but thanks.  |

The gallente scout is the worst scout for passive scans, because it gets no scan bonus, and has crap for high slots. Also your scan skills are LOLworthy. If you want to be a scout thats where I would start putting your SP Immediately. I have all level 5 and dont have many issues seeing people, even in my gal scout.

It gets a bonus to precision. P14GU3 is wrong.
