Hello everyone, this idea of is basically saying the more armor you have, the slower you're going to be. EXAMPLE:
AK.0 Scout with 500 armor vs Cal Sentinal with 400 armor
In this situation, the Sentinal would actually be faster than the scout. Also, Ferroscale plates are unaffected by this, as their purpose is to add armor without losing speed. This idea in my opinion can really help out dropsuits that have low armor. One other idea along with this is that when someone loses armor, they actually become faster. EXAMPLE: Sentinal AK.0 with 1300 armor has movement speed of a little over 2m per second. If armor is dropped to 100, movement speed is around 5.8m per second.
I like this idea as it adds some new things into the mix and makes for more unique suits such as if you want to be faster, then you can't have as much armor, but if you wanna tank, you gotta sacrifice speed and mobility. |

Because this completely bones gallente, who are not only an armor based race, but they are posessed of the shortest range weapons in the game.
Because their suits are intended to engage at point blank effective ranges they need to be able to shift cover to cover FAST, which is why you are more likely to see ferroscales on gallente suits than on any other.
I've even seen ferroscales on galsents because they don't get as much benefit from plate stacks.
The whole shields being faster isn't necessarily great as a balance rule.
Because caldari and amarr have similar combat doctribes: entrench and advance. Force the enemy to rush into your guns.
The minmatar are the masters of the rush, and are more likely to survive a rapid assault to start hammering faces.
The gallente are intended to have a micmix of good mobility with fast damage recovery to compensate for caldari range and heavy recovery to their large shield buffers.

I reported your other thread.
But I'll respond seriously to this one.
It is obvious that you care about the imbalance between Armor and Shields. However, making armor suits too slow to do anything except sit still and eat explosive damage is not the way to fix it. More specifically it would make armor based races completely focused on digging in to closed areas around a hack point and camping like their lives depended on it (which it would.) That is literally exasperating the problem we have now rather than fixing it.
Discuss bringing shield mechanics up to par rather than weakening armor suits. |

Uhmm.. No I really don't like this idea.
You do realize this would make Caldari faster than minmatar even at base stats while having a hp advantage as well. The base speed is linked to base HP. |

Sorry about making a double post. At the time I was half asleep and was typing it on my phone. It didn't register my first post, so that's why I put it up with a different name, unknowingly posting the same thing twice. |

This basically removes movement restrictions based on suit fit, screws up the balance between scout and heavy suits, creates less customizability of fits and will make Kinectic mods totally broken by adding speed in units of 10.
