You know the new paint looks nice but that's all it is.... no ammar heavy laser turret ...no minmatar artillery or autochannon turret. Hears hoping they have different functions than the already in place turrets like say the ammar blaster would be a king to the stabilised blaster of old may the min missiles will be like the old frags but untill we get some numbers and stats all this is, is a new paint job

I like the idea of new racial vehicles... but this?
It feels... kind of cheap. A letdown.
Don't get me wrong, I like the colors, but
recoloring current tanks and calling them
Amarr/Minmatar?

Because CCP are cheap-asses that want to invest 0 dollars into this game by keeping a skeleton crew of one at the helm who, understandably, can't solo the rendering work needed to add additional content to the game. CCP wishes to continue collecting money for aurum for this game but cannot seem to find the competent crew who can make the game shine, as a team!

Worse thing is, is they've already shown us the Concept art for the racial vehicles at the 2013 fanfest along with the racial suits we all have now.

They have no, or maybe one animator, and no ability to add in new assets (or so it would seem, given all the shuffling around of old assets) I think everyone, even CCP agrees with you, but this is what Hilmar has left the DUST team with, so this is what you get.

Because Rattati doesn't have an art team anymore. They took them away to work on project vaporware.
You see, if Hilmar reduces the staff on Dust to a skeleton crew and puts the Legion guys on a separate budget then the "upkeep" cost of Dust is effectively reduced. At least, if you're a business person with all the pressures of the world crushing down on your shoulders and you just can't bare to look at the truth. If you ever watched The Wire, you should be familiar with the term "Juking the stats".
That is precisely the correct term for what is happening with this.
Still, you're in a better place with Rattati than you were with everyone who came before him, so can't complain too much even with a lolbudget.

It is a start. I am however a little disappointed that there are no new turrets for the Minmatar and Amarr. I can understand putting a different skin on existing tanks until new designs are made. You can only devote so many resources to model design. however just one turret for each would give the tanks the truly Minmatar and Amarr feel. Even if you have to give the Minmatar Autocannon turret the same stats as the blaster and the Amarr laser turret the same stats as the Rail gun just for place holders.

He did mention in the other thread that they can tweak the stats of the weapons to give them their own feel, such as drastically increasing RoF on the Minmatar blaster, while obviously decreasing damage..or something.
Get used to it, placeholders is what they have to work with. It's either that or nothing, hoping won't change the reality of their constraints.

Honestly this was my first thought as well. An armor tank with another low slot available for sticking another repair/plate is just going to trivialize the Madrugar. So long as shields are just outright inferior to armor low slots > high slots in the vehicle game.

You can't blame people for being a little upset that CCP has all but removed all form of meaningful development for this game in favor of developing phone apps. Perhaps your mommy should have whooped your ass a bit more in the spirit of civility

Got a source on that?
As I recall, full fledged development for Project Nemesis isn't happening, and a group of less than five devs doesn't equal "remov(ing) all form of meaningful development in favor of developing phone apps".
How bout this: would you rather have a series of broken promises and PureHype(tm) from the old dev team, or a series of iterations producing actual results under Ratatti's leadership?

while it is dissapointing. they do have a point that the ram budget is an issue. Every unique model has to be loaded into a match whether it is used or not since any possible combination can be summoned at a time. you could easily have all 4 tanks around in the match. Sucks but until we either accomplish a massive optimization pass that achieves wonders, or move the game completely to a new platform we are unlikely to achieve more unique vehicle models.
and by completely I mean phase out the ps3 build as well since you could not have more vehicles on one version than the other and have functional crossplay.
... unless said models had the same hitbox despite different shape....
