Are we just using Standard Combat Clone BPOs, or something? What if we could actually purchase different types of clones such as Combat Clones, Athletic Clones, Cheap-o Clones, etc?
Or, what if we were given a few freebie clones when we start out, and have to buy a clone Bay or something similar to keep supplying ourselves with fresh meat?
Sidenote: I wish we had the mission music from EvE for our respective races for battles. The whole point of the suit is to use it for clone housing, if the teck exists I dont think there are ground forces anywhere in eve that use the suits WITHOUT the clone teck. With that inmind the clone cost is probably built into the suit cost
Indeed at this time only Clones can use Dropsuit technology as the dropsuit is constructed around a flash-moulded clone body designed to withstand the effects of weapon a powered exoskeleton which could include radiation poisoning, broken bones, etc.
Clone costs for our combat operations are always likely to be supplied by the hiring corporation. Since you do not PC you are not buying your own clone ever. If you chose to RP that you have clones it must mean you have purchased them yourself via your RP.

Say, mine's for instance. I don't really do PC, nor do I ever purchase clone packs. Where do I get my own clones? Only a portion of your end of match payouts are in isk, a decent chunk is in biomass which is stored and processed in your warbarge (that thing that you use to move around space from battlefield to battlefield). I'm pretty sure we just get our consciousness transferred into a clone that's close to the battlefield. It would massively inefficient to move one clone halfway across the Universe. Under lore, the clone would probably decompose too, which is why you lose a portion of the clones you move from District to District in PC: they decompose.
Nope.
There are not hard clone stocks.
We are constructed of Nanite's on the battlefield via a flash cloning process. After the body is formed the Nanites immediately start the composition of our electronic manufacturing licences (our equipment and drop suits) around our bodies. The process usually takes about 15 seconds which can explain some of the higher wait times on respawn.
After death I'm pretty sure the Nanites either destroy themselves or are rendered inactive and harvested later. I like to think it is the latter and that after a particularly hard battle the entire battlefield is covered in a thick layer of decomposing Nanites [Dust].
