I wish there was a Black Eagle Scout Blue Print! This would help Scouts out that carries shotguns with range.
If not make it so it can be purchase in the market! |

I had suggested making this the second light suit instead of 'pilot' suit. Would have to have very few modules to prevent overuse.
I love the smell of orbital support in the morning!!!

Haha, exactly what I first thought. But then, after shifting this idea back and forth, I felt a certain longing for exactly this. But I know, these are dirty thoughts. We shall never have that.

Well,GǪ umm, noGǪ. I think there are enough gaps in this game that provide "breaking the rules" tools for players. When Cloaks first came out, many players found it a useful item to skirt the intent of Dust combat and be imps.
When Uplinks became the favorite tool for those players who wanted to farm for ISK, it, like the cloaks, had to be curbed. It was "counter" to Dust's intended combat gameplay.
"The Black Eagles" are the only "Cheat" or "Exploit" device that the Devs themselves created in EVE Lore. The Black Eagle suit and its hardware deliberately skirt the Dust combat limitations, "breaking the rules". Having a Black-Eagle dropsuit in our actual gameplay is enough rule-breaking---and lots of us are feeling the nuisance of Black Eagle imps during our matches.
GǪLetting players access the Black Eagle gear separately or as a BPO, would be letting the Lore-gimmick go too far. We DON'T really need it, and too many imps would only pester our matches with them.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

THIS SHOULD HAPPEN!!! Make it available in the market 60,000 AUR, or if you play Faction Warfare, make it cost 15,000,000 ISK and 150,000 LP. |

Wait...I'm confused, as you basically asking for the ability to make a Scout have two light weapons all the time?

If you want a ranged weapon with a high alpha, there are always NKs, or learn to get headshots with the pistols.
Shotgun scouts, while a legitimate role, were over performing for a very long time, because of many separate mechanics . Now you want to reintroduce something new, in the form of a BPO, that would create the potential for abuse?
Nope.

So if Scouts can get a BPO which lets them equip two light weapons, can my Commando get a BPO cloak with reduced fitting so I can cloak all the time too?

No no no, not just scouts any non commando. Forge gun & black eagle ar, Hmg & ar. Rail rifle & ar (When I was little I had to skill into a lot of sidearms to be able to compensate for RR short range, now I that I've bought a black eagle bpo I can be good at every range).
All of the obnoxious combo's that could be imagined.

This one you can actually have.
Nothing like seeing a slow moving blur with a red chevron over his head trying to sneak around, then have to wait 2 or 3 seconds before retaliation.
You would probably get a lot of people asking for their money back.

Oh no, see if the cheap-to-fit-Cloak is the scout's gimmick and the two light weapons are the Commandos....seems only fair that if the Scouts (and any suit as MINA pointed out) are going to get two light weapons, I should get a cheap to fit cloak too ^_^. If that sounds like a terrible idea, it's because it is.
The only reason the Black Eagle setup is acceptable is the same reason the insane power of Officer Gear is acceptable.....because it's a random drop that can neither be farmed, purchased, or produced in a consistent manner.

I got the logic, but if you were going to take something from Scouts and apply it to Commandos, you should have gone for EWAR or speed.
Asking for a cloak is doing it wrong. You are supposed to ask for something that would make it OP, not perform worse.

Ya know if you kill enough black eagle scouts in PC there is actually a decent chance that their AR drops and you can use it on any suit you please. Might might be a high valuable item for player trading.
