Clearly taking advantage of mentally challenged kids here. You did good when you put the $50 pack on sale with 50% OFF. Now that your a profitable "company" why don't you thank your players by giving them more.
25% off? And for something that cost $100?!?!?!?
Weak sauce.

25% off anything is a great deal, a house, a car, a video game, or a shed load of pixxy dust. All depnds if you can afford to spend that much on free game that has longer playablity than most other PS3 titles

$75 is quite a bit to fork over for a free game. It would have been a smarter move to discount something cheaper that most people can afford. $25 for the $50 pack is not bad. And it was a good "deal".
This is just not a good deal in my opinion. It's just in-game money. |

I bought a merc pack and a starter pack back in beta. I cant justify spending any more money on the game. Yes I enjoy playing it, but it's not the game I was promised it would be.

Aye. Spending 25 dollars on a Free to Play game seems reasonable if you like the game. 25 dollars for the Veteran pack was a great deal. 25% off on something that is $100 dollars is kind of lame as it feels more like a company trying to push your towards spending rather than giving you a deal. Yes, I know that the 50% off the Veteran pack was done TO get people to spend.
However, despite still saving 25 bucks, it is easier to justify putting 25 dollars into the game rather than 75. I don't see too many people being able to push themselves to 'make use of those great savings' for this particular discount.

$20 gets you 43,000 AUR: 2,150 per $1 $75 gets you 225,000 AUR: 3,000 per $1
That's 40% more AUR per $1 spent.
I understand not being able to afford $75 right now, but this sale is actually a good deal.

The montization model for F2P games wasn't dubbed "micro transactions" for no reason, sometimes it's easier (and less painful) to pay $3-12 here and there than $50-75 less often.

This "deal" would be nice if it was on the Elite pack, but given the current lack of interesting content, buying a 200K Aurum pack alone just isn't really worth it. The Quafe packs are nice, but without player trading, they're kind of useless. I doubt it's even about "being poor" as some put it, but about wanting something that's actually worth $75. That's more than a brand new triple A game. Bloodbourne is cheaper than that, and it's a PS4 game! Dust needs a little more content (More skins or BPO's or something) before it's actually going to be worth spending that kind of money on this game in a single purchase.

I understand not being able to afford $75 right now, but this sale is actually a good deal. Oh, it certainly is. I never suggested it wasn't. However, I would say a 30 day active and passive booster which is worth about 10 dollars, is also a bonus in the Veteran pack. That's not the point I was trying to make though.
My point is that it is a hell of a thing to have the highest Aurum items get the discount. It is pushing people rather aggressively to purchase those higher packages. To me, it is 'more greedy' than the last deal. Every sale exists to push people towards buying things. CCP isn't "doing us a favor" by having these sales, at least not really. The reason it exists is to sell the merchandise. That is totally fine.
However, it is kind of sad that the big announcement at FanFest for DUST is "Hey, it is profitable!" and then follow with a sale with the highest priced package they offer. Nothing really wrong about it, just seems to me that it is a bit greedy. If we had an idea that the profit from DUST is being put into DUST or that DUST will be further developed, I wouldn't have too much to say.
Just my opinion and feeling is all.

Just my opinion and feeling is all. I get the feeling that this sale and the LP event* are an attempt to keep up the Dust profitability for a reason. I couldn't say what that reason is, but I would imagine it has to do with the future of an FPS set in the New Eden universe.
So you say "greedy" while I say "increasing CCP's Legion development budget".
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's just a sale for sale's sake. Either way, I've got enough aurum to last me through several months of Savant missions after getting my Mobile Factory level 4.
*: which will drive LP booster sales up

Truth....instead of spending $0 on any of the aur packs, I would have bought 2 $50 aur packs priced at $25.
It's just like when they put out the omega boosters for the 2nd time way back in the day. The first time, they put it out was at a reasonable price. The second time they put out a 7 day omega booster for like $68K AUR. It was ridiculous......so instead of buying multiple omegas at the time (which would have been more than spending for one), I bought zero.
If CCP wants to make money they should be smart about it. I mean, what is the cost to them if they put out a sale that would appeal to more players? In the end...they are getting more $$$ and we are earning more sp.

Why the introspection or the level of spending? I had my bank statement open at the time of my last posting and just set the filter for sony purchases since I've started playing, subtracting purchases of games. Regarding the level of spending, given the amount I've played, it's really not that much. I've spent more on a nice dinner and lost more in a single hand of cards, so ~2 years of inconsistent entertainment is a relative bargain. |

They didn't supply lube when they got me for the first year. Pisses me off knowing how much I put in with how the game was before.. so many boosters, so much aurum , so many packs... for it all to change for the much much better now. 190k SP a week cap , no we got 750k and omegas regularly..wtf. Then I hear about how the veteran packs and elite packs get put on sale for 50% off a few times, ughhh.. oh well, I am the one who opened my wallet.
I won't be again that's for sure, I could have a ps4 and a few games from what I spent on here the first year :\
I did slide them 8 dollars though recently when I couldn't figure out what to do with it, they got lucky.
I also have some pimp tanks that can no longer be purchased, so thats kinda cool.. but I still feel like I got ripped off |

My feelings exactly Mr Atu.
I have money to spend but I find it hard to justify spending -ú50 here, -ú80 there in one go for the big packs of stuff yet I will quite happily spend like -ú10--ú20 a week on other smaller packs and aurum.
I will get a nice bag of grade and possibly some choice beverages if I am going to spend that much

Yea, at the end of the day it is up to CCP to entice us with great deals to make us part with our cash. This 25% thing is a start I suppose but its unlikely to even be tempting to the vast majority.
They should do more snapshot, short time, big promotions or tie in more cool things with the next update to really make us want to buy packs, buy aurum etc.. starting at the small end of the microtransaction scale and working up.
