25% off? And for something that cost $100?!
Weak sauce. CCP was a profitable company and has been for a while now. At fanfest CCP announced Dust 514 was a profitable game. See the difference?
$75 for something that is usually $100 is a good deal. Sorry you are poor. Try not being so poor next time.

Joseph Ridgeson wrote:Aye. Spending 25 dollars on a Free to Play game seems reasonable if you like the game. 25 dollars for the Veteran pack was a great deal. 25% off on something that is $100 dollars is kind of lame as it feels more like a company trying to push your towards spending rather than giving you a deal. Yes, I know that the 50% off the Veteran pack was done TO get people to spend.
However, despite still saving 25 bucks, it is easier to justify putting 25 dollars into the game rather than 75. I don't see too many people being able to push themselves to 'make use of those great savings' for this particular discount. Crunch the numbers...
$20 gets you 43,000 AUR: 2,150 per $1 $75 gets you 225,000 AUR: 3,000 per $1
That's 40% more AUR per $1 spent.
I understand not being able to afford $75 right now, but this sale is actually a good deal.

Buying the odd BPO because it looks cool it still pretty common in the super-veteran crowd. I know some super-vets who bought a 'Quafe' dropsuit pack. I'm at 50mil lifetime SP and I still buy strongbox keys for shiggles.
Add to that the players who blow money on warbarge components like it's going out of style...

Joseph Ridgeson wrote:My point is that it is a hell of a thing to have the highest Aurum items get the discount. It is pushing people rather aggressively to purchase those higher packages. To me, it is 'more greedy' than the last deal. Every sale exists to push people towards buying things. CCP isn't "doing us a favor" by having these sales, at least not really. The reason it exists is to sell the merchandise. That is totally fine.
However, it is kind of sad that the big announcement at FanFest for DUST is "Hey, it is profitable!" and then follow with a sale with the highest priced package they offer. Nothing really wrong about it, just seems to me that it is a bit greedy. If we had an idea that the profit from DUST is being put into DUST or that DUST will be further developed, I wouldn't have too much to say.
Just my opinion and feeling is all. I get the feeling that this sale and the LP event* are an attempt to keep up the Dust profitability for a reason. I couldn't say what that reason is, but I would imagine it has to do with the future of an FPS set in the New Eden universe.
So you say "greedy" while I say "increasing CCP's Legion development budget".
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's just a sale for sale's sake. Either way, I've got enough aurum to last me through several months of Savant missions after getting my Mobile Factory level 4.
*: which will drive LP booster sales up

It's not about being poor or rich kid. They offered a better deals in the past and I've purchased just about everyone but this one I'm going to pass on. I'm a 27 year old married man with a kid
I can pay my bills, my taxes, support a video gaming hobby, and still put money in savings every month.
Your "asking mom for money" quips are limp, homie. Try again.
