I've finished my collection of weapons (now i've all weapons at least at operation 5), the last acquired has been the magsec (from 3 to 5).
Since i want to have a great variety of fittings, i've decided to give it a chance.
First impression is that it is subpar to other sidearms, the thing seems to deal a little amount of damage, the increased range does not give you particular advantages, it only attracts unwanted attentions in a range that is more suitable for light weapons, and when it comes to cqc the smg is incredibly better because of the ROF and wider magazine.
Alpha is better on pistols which also are better at range (bolt & Scr), it doesn't have any special firemode (ion) or aoe attack (flaylock) which are useful in cqc.
For me it's definitely a weapon not worth fitting, but i will still play with it for sometime to have a better view on it.
What is your opinion?

Give it a sight, reduce kick, and reduce the charge time to 0.1 seconds. Run metrics from there.

Its a PDW. I get that the Cal have charge-up times and longer range -- but it really doesn't have a niche. It's not a bad weapon -- but there is nowhere for it to shine. But that is compared to light weapons. In a realm purely of sidearms it has a niche -- so I guess there is that? |

Alena, I'll go a slight bit further...no charge time.
Basically it needs to be the top end "Breach" SMG and it's not - by a long shot.

For me its another example of "Would be a great sidearm if the SMG didn't exist". It performs pretty well, but there are far better options.

The magsec is deadly if you are able to handle the aim down sights recoil. it is just below AR range.
it complements regular rail rifles and sniper rifles and laser rifles and HMGs and forge guns and swarms. but it is too accurate/dispersion is too low with hipfire at close range and the recoil during aim down sights is bad.
It needs less aim down sights recoil and more hipfire dispersion. |

I've never had much luck with it. It just didn't seem to work as reliably as an SMG.

Nuff said.. That thing cleans up well with the prof.
Would like a sight and less kick. I think before they increased the clip by 4 it was far better.
But we all know SMG prof 5 is better...
The only reason why I magsec is because it does more damage against shields than the SMG.
And a sight would be nice
