Now I'm telling you this because I hate seeing G.v0 tanks stomping my team and watching everyone moronically swarming it., never breaking reps. This is how its done.
First, make yourself an Av fit.(My fit: G1/s scout swarms, Av nade, boundless RES, myofibs, cardiac reg, damp.) Sneak up behind the Maddy out of his field of vision, then get your three boundless RES on him. Now get him to run away by throwing nades/ swarms , he'll obviously activate his hardeners.Now its a waiting game, get to a safe zone, pull up your map and wait till his hardeners die. Then pop your boundless RES. That's all. Works everytime. Now go make some some tankers broke.

No smart tanker will let you put 3 RE's on them. This is because they can easily see you in 3rd person view. I wish I could have 3rd person view on my logi. Sure would make my deaths from shotgun/knife scouts drop dramatically.

The best way to take out a tank is to run with a squad ready to call in their AV suit. It takes at least 2 people to take out a highly skilled Proto tanker. You have one shot to take them out with Lai Dai's and swarms all at the same time. You miss your one shot and they'll hide in their red-line only to come out and make some noise every 60 seconds or so and they'll go back to their red line.

If you can wait 40 seconds you can 2 shot them. Use the time to flank or head em off.
Maddies turn like the seasons. Use that. Don't engage if they can just roll away. Pick your shots as they are turning or busy. Make them hit their team mates, collision is real. Gunnlogi don't fare well.
A soma with 3 basic hards and a rep will roll you right up to them. Nitro to chase em down. AV nades and a FG to emphasize your disapproval of their existence.
Think up stuff. It's quite rewarding to end a reign of terror. When you do get his next one on the rack as it comes in.

Honestly pro assault FG will do more dmg in short time. Second FG can be breach one to make fatal dmg.
Breach charge very slow and it takes more than 12sec for 2 shoots only. Good tanker will survive 2 breach shoots from 2 people and escape untill both of You will charge it again. With assault one You will be able to hit him 2-3 times and breach for one last shoot.

I have a hard time hearing them not in a tank. I think it has to do more with 3rd person view. They should be vunerable in 3rd person view, something like "pop the hatch and stick your head out."

True , I drive and fly in 1st person always but hearing them ... I guess my experience being a heavy has made me paranoid and heightened my senses as far as RE awareness .

bit of team work but have a logi with RE/Prox mines. just have a PLC shoot his shields out and force the tank to back up over the prox mines. tbh though proxmines would work so much better with a seek mechanic same as AV nades. i'm sure if the Devs did a check i think they'd find Prox mines are probs the least used equipment. they're far too easily spotted, at proto level they should be near impossible to pickup with a basic scanner. when you have to litter a road with 15 of them and still not take down a maddy it should be a hint they need a bit of love

If you couldn't exit the tank and shoot them before your hardeners come off cool down, you might have a decent strategy.
Coming from a tanker, you want a strategy to kill me? Set up a proxy field behind me, and then have AV attack from the front to drive me into the proxies.

Eh, not that easy. I can't see directly behind me. I more or less hear the sound of them being laid down, not because I saw that scout sneaking up on me.

An easier way is to make yourself a target, and watch the idiot charge towards you and into your net of 15 proximities. Also works when placed in unusual places along typical escape routes, place them just right and they'll be outside of the view of the HAVer due to being nestled on the other side of a small crest.

It helps a lot if you're dropping the REs on an HAV that is already distracted in a firefight, as yeah when it's by itself then the pilot will hear the REs "clink" unless they play with no sound.

Haven't let someone put more than 1 RE on me in... Longer than I can remember... Better off putting them on the floor somewhere you think the tank will go after you shoot it... Just outside the redzone should do it, notice they always run back to the redzone when their hardener is about to run out. Let them come back out and BOOM! |

The jump mods allow you to throw the REs much further, this also reduces the chances of the tank hearing the RE deploy noise.
Jump and throw RE, use nades, swarms, run, detonate REs. |
