Tiered matchmaking is something Ratatti has expressed interest in, so is certainly not off the table.
It would do DUST good. Vets would still stomp noobs even if they had to use the same gear, but at least it would be a fair fight. If noobs want though, they can go fight with the big boys the second they leave the Academy.
If CCP cares at all about NPE and the new players we supposedly get every day, THIS is the change they would implement next.

i run STD Ammando with templar laser and STD AScR and STD hive with militia modules. i can go 20 and 5 with this fit. reguardless of the ammount of enemy protos.

Really cuz I had to run so far back into the redline a scout was still following me under our own mcc. Took no damage while I was aiming at him.

this can be done in STD gear. I know many scouts who can and will do this in STD or advanced gear. on top of that, if one has earned a proto suit, and has paid for it, the he has paid large price for his advantage, and deserves to run it.

What the heck does proto gear have to do with how far into your redline someone can chase you? If anything proto won't chase as far since they have more expensive gear to lose to insta redline pop. |

I have a cheap suit for scouting, all basic level, designed to hunt people down in the redline. Shotgun, Knives, and REs with Kincats and green bottles.
Works like a charm.

^^ i agree keep people out of the ******* redline and maybe people can gather their wits about them instead of being run ragged in their own 'safe zone'. tired of dominating teams humiliating the opposing team. was in a match where as soon as they opposing team got the objective they went straight into our redline, hacked the turrets there, and ran around killing before we could even figure out where people were, its ridiculous.
also on topic, its not proto thats the problem, its matchmaking, if you put squads in with solo players then generally the squads will win. there needs to be the option to go into solo and squad only matches. also, with tier matches they should make it so any fittings above that tier are unusable for that match.

Also while I've had days where every match is a loss, I've also had them where every match is a win, it's bound to happen, it's happened to me in every game not just DUST.

And its not a matchmaker. Actually it is, it makes full teams of whoever it can get and puts them into teams. It doesnt balance

Proto scouts? Lmao I don't know what server you are on (the moon presumably.... ) Scouts, especially the cloaked variety are kinda getting rare these days. Hell even I have left the trusty old Dragonfly / Gallente scout on the shelf for an Assault suit.

No dude no ... never restrict the sand box. Increasing time in the academy untill you have at least 5 million skill points aswell as fixing machmaking would almost completely remove one sided proto stomps.

I strongly disagree that all one side needs is to field full proto for a win.
I almost never run full proto and I see many proto squads with very good k/d/r end up losing
People forget these squads are organized AND on mics calling out your positions - and that is how they are stomping you
I think glitch strafing is a much much bigger issue (and would solve some issue with proto gear)
This game drives me insane sometimes (when I get killed from behind or around a corner I eff-ing lose it)
But You tend to complain a little too much without backing up your arguments - this means you need to dig deeper and find out if your playstyle is not working or the game is truly broke.
ie: proto stomping argument valid - possible solution - mode for new and intermediate players
