Well this is all opinion based on my experiences so far in the game after the recent vehicle changes. But the large turrets are still too good at mowing down infantry.
If there aren't some other mechanics that could be used that haven't already been tried to tone down the large turrets, why not try changing their damage effectiveness vs infantry so that its much lower than it is while still being able to do damage. Like.. large blasters and large missiles do 50% damage vs infantry.
Kind of like how non-AV weapons deal very low % damage against vehicles. |

I would say they are about even right now. Tanks kill infantry that are in the open easily, but infantry can kill other infantry AND vehicles from literally anywhere...

quit trying to suck all the satisfaction out of torching the tanks for me.
no, heavy turrets need to stay at full damage.

Tanks with 2 small turrets and 1 large turret, small turrets mow down infantry, large turrets blow up other tanks, turret instalations, supply depots and CRU. |

Both then you need 3 people in a tank doing what 3 people running Proto suits could do BETTER at 1/3 the cost. As for the installation thing, that doesn't really matter because a) turrets can only kill infantry if manned by infantry, and b) they are all usually in terrible positions or in the red line, so they don't really help anyway. CRU and Supply Depots take AGES to destroy...

Again I find it hilarious that someone is trying to tell me a bolt of plasma several times larger than that of a Gallentean Plasma Rifle, which does full damage against enemy infantry, would somehow not apply all of its destructive force upon impact.
Or Missiles...... or Railgun Slugs, all of which likely travel at a high enough velocity to scythe through light personal shield that infantry posses and that somehow these shield can do what the significantly more powerful shield and armour composites used on vehicles cannot.

But this suggestion is just you applying your philosophy on what 'combat should be' to the game. You haven't said how the implementation of large blasters is game breaking or unfair.
Personally I would argue that it makes NO sense for large blasters to suck at killing infantry -- and until there is a solid gamebreaking reason for it, a change is unneeded. |

In my opinion HAV's vs infantry is working out nicely at the moment. What does not work is shield vs armor HAV's. Cause i havent found a decent shield tank that could survive a encounter vs a armor tank.
I make the scrubs scream and the vets cry.

Are you finding Shield HAV better for Anti Infantry Gameplay or Armour HAV?
I know they are both effective but often times I feel like the ability to manipulate my HP actively is a real boon over the passive armour repairs Madrugars would rely on.

A railgun only kills you if it is a direct hit.
Large missiles have no splash and a 6ft missile the size of a scout does no damage to a scout unless it is direct hit.
Blaster has replaced accuracy with luck and you can bunny hop in a sentinal suit and not get hit.
It has never been easier to avoid getting hit with a turret.

The simple fact that I'd rather use a large blaster turret to mow down infantry, than switch to one of many small turrets, is proof enough for me, that the large turrets are still too good at infantry slaying.
I still mostly run rails/missiles though, switching to small rails (now that small blasters are complete poop.) |

Only non-evading infantry are easy kills for tank turrets.
