If you manage it right, its better to turn it off than have it going for nothing...
Though most tankers aren't that smart.

After you kill all threats you have nothing to gain by being hardened. Deactivate to start your cooldown. Why waste precious seconds?

It would be better if vehicle module cooldown worked in a similar way to the Cloak .

Well, you also don't wanna turn them off too early. You never know if there's a random forger waiting around the next corner...
But yeah, turning them off on accident sucks big time. Happens all the time when i'm using a new fit and the modules aren't where i'm used to them being. (Dumb armor tanks. :P)

Yes.
What? After you activate/deactivate or even think about using your hardeners you're unable to fire for a period of time? |

Just like my logi fits, my tank fits always have the same modules in the same slots. Always. But, since most ta kers aren't used to managing multiple active modules and moving and shooting all at once (thanks 1.6) this is a common problem. Cycling hardeners, and now including damage and dispersion mods as well as nitros is almost like back in the middle days of tanking. Timing is key with all modules.
Mark a$$ tricks, and bags of dicks....

Yes. What? After you activate/deactivate or even think about using your hardeners you're unable to fire for a period of time? No, that after deactivating your charge doesn't go back to 0, and you can reactivate after 50%.

Cool down mechanics should work from max-min, not how it is now, and buff mods should go from min-max, so if you deactivate it 75%of the way through, you'd only have to cool down 75% of the regular timer.

You are right. The hardener being active only makes sense if there is a passive module. That would be the Adapter. This needs ro be put back in the game. I was able to withstand any damage well except for a forge gun back when passive tanking a Gunny was a thing.
Caldari are "hit and run"? Huh? Tell that to EVE players. No, shield tanking is a thing in EVE, not a silly crap mechanic next to armor.
Death is a serious businessGǪ So is running a shoddy, half-baked game company.
