Not played a game in what seems like ages!
Keep tempting myself to plug the PS3 back in and see how it is. The repetitiveness of Destiny is getting... repetitive.
When Sony finally releases it's PS3 game streaming service, do you think DUST may be among the games available?

Matchmaking isn't doing so hot, but weapon balance is in a pretty good shape and suit balance is getting better. Recent changes to Myofibs make getting around much more interesting.

The game is no longer playable. I dont have to sp to spec into flavor of the month. jumpers wont take damage. Its gotten so bad I have to leave battle. Its no longer fun.
Maps suck
Bugged terrain.
Horrible match making
Unbalanced weapons
Hit detection sucks
Passive scanning sucks
Lag every game
the game is a total disgrace from when it first started.
Starter Fit Suits are OP :-)

I cannot disagree more. With respect, to many aspects of balance you may just be looking back through rose-colored (or blood-colored?) lenses as I would state that hit detection, and weapon balance is far better now than it has been in the past for DUST 514. The weapon balance even has multiple metrics to back it up, from in-game anecdotal experience of seeing multiple weapon classes in game, indicating they are all competitive. There is also the data showing numbers on weapons used indicating large spread use of enough weapon types to indicate a general balance between a large array of combat options.
It may be true that not every weapon is perfectly balanced, but that's always a work in progress. Still it's far better than just about any point in DUSTs history.
As to the maps sucking, we have a far larger selection now then we've had before, and I quite enjoy a huge number of them. That said, it would be -really- nice if that kitten train map stopped appearing every game. We have a great selection of maps, ranging from ones with lots of close quarters combat, to some that favor more wide-open terrain. Ambush maps often work on the same maps, but their nature often has the focus on one area of the map that is often unused in Dom or Skirmish.
Bugged Terrain and Lag are just things I don't encounter, although I do occasionally see a laggy map. I think that falls under personal experience. Passive Scanning could always use more tweaks in my opinion, but by the same token it's not meant to be over powered compared to active scanning.
Matchmaking... yeah... that's bad. (But Rattati has a fix ready!)
Overall I would say that DUST is a far better experience than it was, and offers unique things that no other FPS on the market has. It also has a certain charm to it that has allowed me to bring in a few friends who normally would not like FPS games and those that play other FPS games to come and play it for long periods (for their average gaming sessions) of time.
I still love DUST, and certainly think it's worth another peek into. Especially if you have all that sweet, sweet passive SP saved up. |

The game has a Variety of playstyles you will come up against and you should deffo play
today I chased down an assault mk0 who was spamming nades, I ran through the doorway in my sentinel m-1 with militia hmg. and he started running, I chased him for 300m stop and start and killed him with my smg (ads 50m)

In terms of fun, this game is way more fun than say Uprising (all of them). Chromosome was still better at its core, but this is due to the engine change. Other than that, the game was improved drastically. Try it out and decide for yourself.

I think the game is in the best place it has been. What is the FOTM? There really isn't one, you can see most suits and most weapons in every match. That is because almost everything works and nothing works too well.
Ratatti has given me hope that the big problem, matchmaking, is getting revamped. Just knowing that our pleas haven't fallen on deaf ears will keep me playing this game.
Because, that's why.

Laser and Magsec are the only things I rarely see.
I think the CR is the least used rifle other than the laser. Things are great, just need to figure how to make people fight. |
