Lol/Troll fits: Do they still exist?

LT SHANKS You In The Nutz 5502	Posted - 2015.03.26 11:34:00 - [1] - Quote Out of boredom, I decided to take a hand at making some "lol/troll" fits, so I looked through my assets to see what combinations I could come up with. Sadly though, everything I turned to was in fact viable in some way. The staple of "lol/troll" fits before included a mix of Myofibs with some crap tier weapon such as the FlayLol. Now, not only is such a fit viable, but it can actually be competitive to a certain degree. PLCs have lost their luster. Flaylocks are reclaiming their former glory. IoPs, despite what many believe, are absolutely deadly when dual-wielded. Melee? Sure, just let me jump over you first so I can smack you to death. The best I could come up with was a Proto GalLogi with: 5x damps 3x myofibs 4x proto scanners But even this fit was too good to be worthy of "lol/troll" status. So, do lolfits still exist or is Dust really on its way to complete weapon/module balance?

Lolfit that I don't use much is a min scout + quafe plc and Nova knives...... There's nothing really gimped or up anymore, so I guess weapons are balanced.. Sad They should add a weapon that's pretty bad but deadly in the right hands like the plc was before the like 5 buffs. A Logi with stacked Myos negates all the negatives to carrying just a Swarm Launcher. It has: -a means of defense against infantry (mobility and punches) -3 to 4 equipment slots for rep hives and REs A combat oriented AV Logi is actually a thing... Lol.

Lows armour plates Highs sidearm damage mods. Weapon: breach scrambler pistol grenade: your choice 1 flux used to end you, but these days you have plenty of extra hives for more ridiculousness. Hives best situated around a corner where you know enemies will come. For mega troll, use in minmatar FW, Amarrians will froth when you kill them with their own pistol. > Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

So, do lolfits still exist or is Dust really on its way to complete weapon/module balance? A month or 2 ago I was thinking PRO range enhancers were bad as only a 15% bonus. Then I read uprising 1.10 patch notes again a week ago. For a PRO amarr scout (which I have acquired): I realized I could have 9 db precsion at 15.6 meters (50% precision at 40% range), 18 db precision at 39 meters range (100% precision at 100% range with 2 PRO range enhancers and 2 PRO precision enhancers), 25.2db precision at 78 meters (200% range at 140% precision). The results were also great on std amarr assaults (provided you are aware and use grenades against PRO guys coming around corners and finish them off with a SCR and magsec)

I think it's a credit to the general level of (infantry) balance that this is the case. A good troll fit needs to be obscure and appear fatally flawed while paradoxically allowing you cause at least a moderate level of annoyance. I'm not sure if there is much that fits the bill anymore. Jumping lasers maybe? Arcing over someone while cutting them in two with a laser would be pretty cool and should embarrass the dead merc. -Aramis
