I actually quite happy from what I heard. :)
They've stated facts and answers to a lot of things I was hoping for.
What are your personal opinions?
Thank god for CCP Rattati!
Rogue Relics is my home away from home.
Thank you CCP for getting DUST 514 back on track!

Goods things were said, now let's just hope that they will be a real thing and not just words.
They didn't say a word about Dust/Legion on PC/PS4 and this is a real shame.
Fix the game before trying to add anything else.
(Hint: hit detection, lags, glitches,.. you've got some work :) )

Last year, DUST was at least offered a set at the adults' table. There is also the fact that Rouge was being honest for the first time: "we cannot do what we wanted on the PS3." Yes, it was really horrifically announced but that fact being known rather than us still having false hope about all the crap that was supposed to come is an advantage.
This year was nice for the facts but there is a huge downgrade from having a keynote and a progression presentation to just having 15 people in a room talking about things that are fairly understated. A new game mode is cool but why the hell was that such a secret that it is saved for FanFest? It isn't big enough to have it be worth waiting for the big stage, especially when that stage was a room that didn't have proper wi-fi to have it be streamed from Dennie.
As mad as I still am over FanFest 14, I still think it was the first time that CCP was honest with us. This year, sure the honesty was there but the minimal lip service we were given was sad. Hell, I think there was more talk about Project Nemesis than DUST on Twitch and if it weren't for Soraya we probably would not even be able to see the roundtable. DUST isn't some unknown game that CCP did in it's highschool years in the garage. CCP has released two videogames but it seems like they want to try their best to make it seem as if there is only EVE who is pregnant with Valkyrie.
The total kick in the nuts this year was substantially less than what it was when Rouge left the stage last year after 23 minutes, though.

Is it still planned? When? Obviously 2013 MTACs in Uprising is not happening anymore. As you can see from my Corp banner, we have been waiting and preparing for MTACs for a long time. We have built up our ranks and we have eventually seen our ranks dwindle. Many of the troops we have lost were lost not only from MTAC AOC but from Dust 514 altogether. They could be brought back with the answer of this one question.
Are MTACs coming?

Joseph Ridgeson wrote:cut I prefer talking about Dust than talking about another game, even if it was only a little round table it was significantly better than a keynote of Legion which can be a vaporware for the things that we know about it. To sum up: ff14 nothing was told about dust, ff15 we had a little rountable with some news. Something is better than nothing.

Guys, we need to stop calling MU a 'matchmaker' when it's actually a 'teambuilder'.
And I want to play FE:A now. Damn.

I'd say the expectations set were way different as well.
For 2014, we were told that there would be big announcements at Fanfest, and that we should all wait eagerly to see what goodies were there. Because of such words, the community got more and more excited about what could come, and hype grew and grew.
Then we got what we got, and many in the community felt it was such a kick in the teeth that we had mass riots and biomassing, with even the more centrist posters scrambling to try to get some form of communication or clarification. In short, it was a disaster for the game in the company.
Compare that to this year. We were promised effectively nothing would be announced at Fanfest. There was going to be no big Legion or DUST news, no big reveals. So for most of the community, at least those who read the forums, hype was pretty low but many tuned in anyways.
Instead of nothing, we got promised some reasonably obtainable goals: a basic pvE mode, maybe some more EVE connections, more DUST mechanics that weren't 1:1 bound to EVE. Then we also were told of an upcoming feature that was a new reveal: Acquisition.
In short, we got MORE than we were promised instead of less. Further we got told by Hilmar himself that he's happy with DUST, and we see new articles pronouncing that the game we all play is profitable, which means it is healthy.
So, assuming you can set expectations on what you were told before hand, and not flights of fancy, then yes the Roundtable gave us more than we expected. I for one, am quite happy with that. |

Unimpressed with the room.
Folks didn't even take the time to absorb the format Rattati wanted to initiate, hopefully more took place outside of the 40min window a room was allotted.
is it a EVE online fanfest or a CCP fanfest next year?
Many Thanks Soraya, for recording it and posting in record time.
Rattati, Frame, please accept my humblest condolences for having to put up with what must be an exacerbating process to field video game nerd questions while still attempting to appease whomever signs your paychecks at the end of the day.
