i admit to enjoying running proto in matches as much as the next merc but when a herd of mercs with proto Scrambler rifles and core f*ck grenades its ridiculous and presents a problem... i propose to restrict proto weapons (or maybe proto suits) to attempt some sort of balence...
as for the herd of squads dominating solos and rarely facing a MATCHED squad, i propose implementing a some sort of use of the total data of spent skill points of each player and time spent IN game in a given squad, time to be the deciding variable of how many skill points are too many.
take this and modify it as you will, this is just an idea but if you guys can spit ball ideas on how to make this better but we need to stop proto stomping squads some how... Join a squad, this is a team game not "Call Of Duty TM"

Join a squad, this is a team game not "Call Of Duty TM" Proto squad will stomp a not-proto squad. The issues are real. Even if few people can articulate them well in a post. Not necessarily true, some of the issue with this assessment is that it doesn't take ingenuity of players in to account nor does it take strategy or tactics into account.

I still kick proto stompers in the teeth with my Sever Logi suit as well as win matches on a regular basis. Yeah I can proto but play with less because its hilarious watching a proto go down to a 'Toxin' Assault Rifle, leaving my Duvall in my inventory for another time.
Running with a squad allows me to do this, playing my role rather than being a one man army.
Tired of being Protostomped?

You say this like it's the rule rather than the exception. I run solo. protostompers don't even phase me. Lol bring on the proto, I like their tears better.

1) What happens if I run a proto suit with a Basic Gun for more variety? 2) I've played this game for over two years, and yet you want me to refrain from the best part? 3) I have more money than I need to worry about running proto. FW is a stomp, and too hard to get into. There is no Isk sink. 4) What about people in Adv suits, which can destroy nearly as effectively as a Proto Squad vs Militia gear 5) Players will lesser experience will NEVER catch up. I have 60 mil SP. Maxing cores plus weapon proficiency is 30 mil. That means that I will have an advantage ahead of them no matter what suit I use 6) Killing players who crouch with sniper rifles when I'm 5m from them doesn't work. Nothing cures stupidity 7) Not every player using proto is deadly. We have bad days, and if you're squad is together, 5 militia suits can kill a proto suit. Your issue is proto squads 8) What about proto logis, that keep their squad alive? Would you complain if I ran my proto logi suit while my squad of Adv gear ran all over you with M1 Locus Grenades? 9) What if I use a Proto suit with basic modules like the APEX? Is that proto? 10) What happens if my team is getting decimated by other squads of non-proto? Can I run proto to swing the tide????? I usually go into a dom and find we're redlined. It takes proto links, followed by a proto speedhack, followed by numerous other suits to solo hold the objective against the other team to even have a chance at winning.
People will complain about everything that kills them. Once you can define my 10 terms, then I'll stop running proto in pubs. Until then, no. . Why not use an APEX suit. 2,3,4,6,7,8,9 (Is that actually proto? Define a proto-stomper please.), 10. LOL, I think the one guy running proto is just kill finishing for the guys who need a full clip and have to reload

Dust isn't meant to be fair. If it was, there would be no progression.
The progression is in SP. I can't count the number of "straight-to-proto" dingbats who are confused as to why my quafe suit with nothing other than militia mods and guns pops them like zits. If you deleted proto tomorrow from the game the protostomping "problem" would not go away. Why? Skillpoints. Everyone's so monofocused on the gear that hardly anyone realizes that it's the skill points that are DUST's actual force multiplier.take asquad of protostompers and drop them into all STD/MLT gear and the result is exactly the same. If you give them coordination the problem multiplies. Is this a problem per se? No. Is it a problem that new players are allotted 1000 warpoints earned before we drop them in with these players? Absolutely. Do I have any sympathy for anyone who is b*tching that it's unfair because they want to play solo? No. Not even jokingly. My only real concern or care about protostomping is the fact that there is zero newbro tolerance there. And they have no chance if they've been spotted unless they are protected by an entire squad of experienced vets who are actively walking them through the game. That is the protostomp problem. Solo complainers about stomps can go die in a fire if they have more than 10m SP. Absolutely, and as someone who takes time to put sp mostly where it should go, I do suffer in some areas, such as not being a freaking jackrabbit. BUT teamwork is ultimately what any new player should focus on, heck some older players too, it makes for better teams.
