Most people I have seen (yes, jerkoff, an anecdote) are not using myos. They are engaging in their typical gunfights as per usual. A handful of people seem to be using the myos to jump and use the maps in new ways. These new ways have not impeded nor detracted from the generic gunfights, and I have yet to see any evidence or convincing anecdotes to the contrary.
However, I have not seen how myos affected the cesspool of PC, so my experience is not without limitation.

As usual the real problem is a lack of any sort of basic QA, an inverted stacking penalty, invisible small turrets. Every patch there's something that causes the player base grief and makes the dev team look amateur at best.

I don't mind the jumps but I think there should be a stacking tax after the second one because the jumps are too high or incorporate a greater fall damage when reaching a certain height or cause them to go into inertia if the height is over x m's in air .
That's the crazy thing to me , you can jump onto a building or one of the high places but if you were to fall from such the inertia would activate , what's the difference .?. just doesn't make sense but I have zero problems with the jumps , it's just again ... the matter of how the system was admonished with no afterthought of how it will effect the overall make up of the game , kinda like the monetization ... something that's good turning into a gimmick because much thought wasn't given .
It just seemed like this was done to hold the attention of the player base but this game needs REAL content , racial content , heavy weapons , DS's / LAV's and such but what happens when the " magic " wears off and other games come out while this one is still stagnant in it's performance even , again ... not much thought given .
I don't want or need mechanics from other games , then why don't I just play those games and not this one then ???
Just silly , lazy and sloppy ... I started playing this game because I truly believed that it was breaking from the pack and setting it's own standards ... but I guess I was wrong .
One suit tiercide comes I'm officially gone because I might as well play COD , BF and the rest that's on the shelf .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

True.
Players who complain are blinded by their utter distaste for the Myo changes that they fail to realize that:
-Stacked Myo fits usually result in little to no eHP tank making even medium suits just as squishy as Scouts
-Long hang times render users more vulnerable to enemy fire

Shanks you keep saying this. It doesn't make it true. Shield tanks are viable as long as you can get away and are smart. Aim is more important than ehp. Assaults can stack 800ehp and still jump in tactically adventitious ways on top of large crates and over your head to flank and gank, not to mention they are fit with 0 movement penalties and strafe at the "normal" hit detection breaking speeds.
People just don't know yet...

Seems to be the correct answer as stacking the myo's didn't add up number ones to any of the other modules; stack 3 of them and jump high enough to get to the top of a cloning installation and jump onto the next floor?
It's mostly players who run scouts that are also enjoying this change to myo's as it's not as viable to a heavy or a logi, I've seen some assault use it but not to the degree that scouts do. I think the overall problem for a good portion of players is that if you're playing the game with under 20m in skill pts you're typically running one type of suit to proto level and that's where you get the most bang for your stacking.
Hey I get the bunch of posters saying "oh cry me a river waaah waaah" but that's also the exact problem that got this game nearly a few nails in the coffin: no new blood, no contact with CCP when stuff went bad and the lack of communications as well. I won't argue that CCP Rat brought the game back to life nearly from death but it was always a fine line between a good update and a bad one.
A few examples of a few fights that change the gunfight dynamics is seeing scouts jump onto the walls away from logi and heay and then do a barrage of flaylocks and mass. Had i been one week earlier if a scout found themselves pincered between a logi and heavy the lack of jumping over a wall with the door being behind the heavy 8 meters away isn't a pretty good looking one. I'm not delusional enough to "firmly" believe this doesn't change anything; roofs were never safe to begin with but multi floor jumping with enough myos stacked also changes really how battles work in general.
Hey I get it, a lot of you have been here long enough to have the ISK, skillpoints and what not to care but as a game itself, Dust doesn't really rely on veterans stomping on everything for new players. I've been running militia gear during the weekend and saw my KDR steadily rise and struggle to keep 1:1 ratios. I get the benefits of skill lvls for armor and shields and what not. But myo's is something that is pretty damn hard to compete with in terms of the typical proto and officer builds I see running.
Complain all you want about how myo's "are working and being enjoyable" because really it's not everyone running scout and not everyone is going to pay Aurum to do a skill tree reset to do this one thing but let's not just lie to everyone in the face either and say it's working as intended and that everyone loves it because it's really only the players who benefit directly from it who're saying it and the fact that the myo percentage stacking shouldn't really let you jump floor onto floor doesn't make you a whiner for calling it out, you're calling out something that really isn't working properly in the game. |
