You unlike the forum trolls seem to understand that these patches are all being worked on, one at a time, so they take time to roll out or come out in small chunks. I see that the game is being iterated on, Balistyc. It's being improved on, in typical CCP fashion, slowly but surely. My concern is that CCP Rattati is no longer concerned with how his vision for the game fits into New Eden. His attitude has basically been that "Dust is different than Eve because fun is a reason" and that means he gets to discard source material as needed. The chief reason I'm still interested in this game is because of the New Eden setting. Sure, I like the customization and the ScR gives me a chubby, but I can find similar thing in other games. I can't find a New Eden FPS anywhere else but here... and pretty soon I might not even find it here anymore  I don't believe Rattati overarching plan is to slowly lead us back to the New Eden setting after some patches. In fact, I think the goal is to distance DUST 514 from New Eden as much as possible so as to make the game more approachable and thus more profitable. Dust would probably sell better to the casual market if it were more fluffy and cuddly and "wheee look look I can jump really high mom!".
We live a virtual universe where our conscious mind is actively being recorded, transmitted and upload into empty husk clones in real time, so that the nano second it stops recording from the primary source, a new clone is awoken, to begin the entire process over for all effing eternity.
We have battle tanks that have the most absurdly powerful electromagnetic energy force fields deflecting super dense volitile spheres of metallic elements spun into a plasma state with relative ease.
We have combat knives with an arcing plasma blade to cut through the most sophisticated heavy metal armor platong our fake universe can dream of.
And you believe that over injecting our hyper advanced humanoid bodies with superduper muscle force juice so that our highly actuated combat suits cant jump to incredible heights of whats only 40-50 max when we ourselves stand 9 feet tall?
That last one is shattering the illusion of the new eden you know?

That last one is shattering the illusion of the new eden you know? Suspension of disbelief. All of the things you describe fit snugly into what we have come to recognize as New Eden tech. These new drugs don't fit within some players' scope of New Eden tech. That causes my immersion to break and to say to myself, "This is just silly..." If I intended to play a purposefully silly game this would be fine, but I didn't. A side note here: if CCP had actually made some kind of lore building statement about why myofibs grant this magical jumping power it might help this bitter pill go down. Something about the 5MCC being a test for our clone's physical limits and that the formula for myfib stims has been altered yada yada yada. It would still be silly and suck, but at least CCP Rattati is trying to make his change fit into the universe. As is, his answer is "It happened because fun is a reason".
