That's honestly severely disappointing, the old 3/2 vise versa slot configuration with a CPU/PG buff would of actually made LAV's light attack vehicles but with what you just said I honestly just can't see them being anything more than glorified A to B one time transports.

you know what funny ? the fact that CCP nerfed all LAVS including the non militia ones, i mean i was expecting an increase to cost to normal ones and the nerf would only apply to militia and /or BPOs but hey gotta nerf one of the hardest roles there is this in game

Maybe the imminent slaughter of LAVs will FINALLY show Rattati that the current state of Swarm Launchers is ridiculous.
LAVs used to be the only vehicle that could survive against the Swarm-Spam, but now even they can't hope to live.

Ok, so for you naysayers on how bad the LAVs are, look at these fits (post-echo ehp in parentheses):

Both these fits are at max skills using an ADV turret (the easiest turret to fit, btw). Both don't make it past their previous ehp totals and the Methana doesn't even make its primary tank. Both get 2 shotted by swarms easily, and I'm fairly sure the Saga could get alpha'd by most PLCs, forges, and rail tanks.
Yeah, tell me LAVs are viable.

LAV is intended to be transport vehicle since forever. If you want to run a tank LAV then do some creative fitting with them and be useless for everything else. It is possible.

That sounds nice. At the moment the biggest shield extender I can fit on my saga is a single enhanced heavy when using a powergrid module. This leaves just enough room for a turret and a scanner, and the shields come out to 1600. This fitting has died to a single swarm volley several times today.
And the methana is difficult to even match the pre echo eHP. |

That's the thing, since 1.7 every vehicle is so cookie cutter that the only thing you can do with them is tank'em. If the second faze of vehicle reintroduction was here maybe I'd be different but it isn't. Also having so few slots doesn't help either

Pre-Echo having a shield booster was mandatory to survive in a LAV.
Now I can't even fit one after getting my tank high enough to avoid being OHK'd by AV...

Holy crap... that Saga would just go Splat... barely 2,000 hp on it.. O.o; The Methana might take 2 rail shots at 3,000, but it could be 1 shot if the blast hits the hood...

ProtoFits hasn't updated the fittings (same as ehp). I checked them myself and they'll fit.

Same verdict here.
I have maxed fitting skills and can barely make a Saga survive a single maxed pro PLC shot. Can't make a Methana survive two Swarms.
Those are fitted LAVs that cost over 100k ISK, mind you. Don't assume I didn't try. They don't work.
As for being constructive:
Before Echo a fitted Methana could get to 4k hp. It is now below 3k hp. That's a 30% nerf. That means we need a very significant amount of CPU/PG to get fitted LAVs back to where they were. I'd very much suggest adding a third racial slot though. Two-slot tanks are very boring (Plate + repper or extender + booster, no other options).
The Saga - except for the Saga II - wasn't quite up there with the Methana before Echo. It got hit even worse. It needs help. A lot of it. |

Please reconsider leaving it As Is, Devs, and Fellow Mercs. So, to clarify BPO LAV Small Turrets are NOT going to be Removable? Thanks to Everyone.  |

Welp no more slots? I hope you plan on adding slots to tue Saga II and adding a Methana II as well then because right now there's not a damn reason to use an LAV as a frontline support or recon vehicle. Not at that price and RISK.
I'd rather depend on a blueberry to fly me around in a drop ship without dying.
As long as 4/5 (80%) of infantry AV weapons are Anti Armor based you're never going to achieve vehicle balance CCP
