I tossed two fluxes and killed a sica with a AHMG earlier. 10 second window for depleted recharge, so chewing through 900 armor is not a problem.
running in a armor tank squadron, squad mates did notice a lot of damage coming from those things.
But i like my AHMG.

So anything that does less than 102 damage to vehicle shields just... doesn't do damage? It that so? Hm.

Because I've melted through a good bit of HAV shields before with a Laser Rifle. That was back in like, 1.7 though...

On the anti infantry side of things it struggles at range as it seems to have a lot of dispersion. However, this might be a good thing as it works well at close range and is prety good at AV by the sounds of it. |

I cant really confirm this. I think the fact is that the dps is higher than shield regen so what you see is shields going down but the regen is actually working and is, in fact, lowering your dps.
One of the few assaults you'll find in a PC match!

There's one thing that bothers me about it... It has the same clip size as the regular HMG, but 1/4 of it's ROF, so you really don't have to reload it alot.
It's strange.

I believe his point is that the DPS of the AHMG is enough to render the regen rate practically irrelevant, despite it not disabling the regen.

It is autocannon. It kills LAVs. Deal with it? :D I love it. If you don't want your vehicle to get killed don't go into melee range.

The shield threshold can easy be bypassed with AV grenades. Sleek AV grenades are priceless for this cause you can throw them really far and then just shot the living crap out of any vehicle. If a dropship flys low enough it works too. the AHMG however is near useless vs. Infantry due to 2 things:
-no inversed dispersion like on the regular HMG
-shots to slow to catch strafers
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

Not completely true. I did make a tank retreat against it, but only after taking an AV grenade to its front to stop the regen. Took out his shields with the AHMG and he got the hell out of there. Naturally if the tank wants to get away I can't really chase him though. It's definitely a weapon that is best for slapping vehicles away from objectives rather than hunting them down and murdering them.
I think it could actually do with a bit more effective range. It's difficult to make effective against low flying ADS at the moment and that seems a bit wrong.
Usually banned for being too awesome.

It is actually ok. The flux granades make a nice companion, and if there are other players with av it is possible to make short work of careless tankers. |
