Did some brainstorming and came up with something that i feel is fair and easy to do. CCP, make heavies show up as a bold cirlcle on the radar instead of the same arrow all other infantry get. Being and aggressive player the last thing you want to do is see a red on the radar and challenge them only to find out boom, its a heavy, dead. If that red showed up as an icon (bold circle) i can then take a more logical approach (run) to deal with him. Heavies dont get a nerf and infantry have the ability to be more aware when they are around. Thoughts?

That sounds much harder than reducing some numbers, so it wont happen. Great idea though.
Maybe even giving every class specific icons, logis a cross, assaults get an arrow and scouts get to line |

Get rid of the explosive resistance. Mass Drivers and grenades should be the end all, and PLCs don't one hit super tanky heavies.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have seen the heavies show up as a right angle icon on the tacnet. Not all heavies show up that way but when they do it's nice because you can also see what way they are facing.

My counter to heavies is gallente assault with speed mods and damp mods and shotgun
or amarr assault with shotgun and dampener and Hp mods (works well in cities and places where there are many corners to ambush them) ( you must have lethal gun game) |

I think that is something that goes with the newest suits, so only certain heavies, and I think Cal and Amarr scouts as well if they were to show up on tacnet.

Carry flux grenades. If you run into one chuck and finish with primary light weapon. They're a lot easier to deal with when they have no shields. If you carry a RR and you run into one get distance fast and take them out from there. No need to do anything else to them via game augmentation.

I like to read comments of people who say that killing a heavy is so easy.
I want to add, that we're not talking about new players in 800ehp sentinel suits with mlt hmg running in open area.
We're talking about 1500ehp sentinels with 1000dps hmg. Answer is easy. To counter sentinel you need another sentinel, re or sg/nk scout.
You can't counter them using an assault suit.

We understand that you are referring to the best heavies, those with max hp and resistances and weapon SP skills and vet experience.
I am telling you they can be beaten. Its just a lot harder when they have good skilled allies and your on the other side of the proto stomp with militia allies that die quickly enough that the enemy is only distracted for short periods with enemy fire. This limits opportunities to kill them with weapons like nova knifes and shotguns and ARs and flux's and RE's. It will sometimes become impossible because your best option was to passively weaken the heavy by killing his team mates 1st and if the opportunity arises, kill the sentinel. Instead of directly weakening him.
Coordinated teams make things seem much stronger. Its just that your unlucky because your team was not coordinated enough to keep the enemy distracted. (your team doesn't need to be a threat, it just needs to be good enough to keep your enemy distracted).
If your enemy uses proto scans then you need a scout to have a decent chance at killing the sentinels. You don't have to use a scout to kill them, but your chances are very small without scouts. |
