I've had the trainyard at least 10/14 matches today. Every day, and that map plays out so bad. Red team camps the platform, blue team trapped in corner under platform. Blue team gets remoted, now switch. Really its so boring. |

I fuking hate that map now. And CCPs silence on the frequency of that map is annoying and suspicious.
But if the objective was put in one of the train carts that would change things up a bit... untill you played it every other game.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

This. So much this. I've basically stopped playing domination because I can't stand playing this map any more. I don't mind it in skirmish because I can just avoid Alpha point, which I do

Just a hunch, but I bet we'll see a greater rotation of maps after the clone challenge. I think CCP is trying to get us to fight more by having fewer maps with 5 objectives and focusing on trying to get everyone around two or three.

I'm guilty of leaving the match every single time I get this joke of the map, and I'm not even sorry. I tried to remain optimistic and gave it plenty of chances when it first came out, but I've run out of patience. Every other match I'm thrown right back into it. Just because it's new does not mean I need to play it so frequently. I'd rather play in the lag facility.

Yep, of all Domination matches I played during the 5MCC, the Train Yard seems to pop up very frequently (almost 50%). It's not a bad map, but it gets old very quickly with such a frequency.

Theory time: I do wonder what CCP consider a unique "map" in the rotation?
Of all the time I got the Train Yard, it DID have unique sockets and mood. So (in CCP's eyes), does this qualify as a "different map"?
If it does, then it might explain the behaviour we are seeing (or feeling). Mood and sockets are very nice to spice things up, but if the objective is not within a interchangeable socket, the system is pretty moot.

Yeah unique sockets and mood, but the sockets aren't being utilized. Instead of having 2 of 3 objectives next to ground spawns why not move 1 to, lets say a train cart. Maps should be adjusted when there's little activity in major sockets, add an objective or something.

Maps has always been a problem with this game. For six months during closed beta we had one map. Line harvest. That sucked. I've started multiple threads in the past about this particular topic. Honestly it wouldn't even be that difficult if they just hired an intern, to move the objects around on any map, and come up with a new map every month. The best idea, really, is player made maps. If they would give us a map editor, and the option to vote on said maps, created by the community, for which would be moved into the regular rotation. One thing that would be really cool. A map on a star ship. fighting control overtaking another companies MCC?

I'm reporting that, as of March 8th, the issue seems to have alleviated. The tunnel map was there, but not in exceeding amounts.

That is the most common map I get playing domination. I hate it. That and the train yard one are the only 2 I will leave and re-search if I'm playing solo.
It's not so bad in skirmish, but yeah, it sucks with only 3 points. |

Indeed. I just played the "new" MCC map for the first time, it only took 6 weeks!
Sidenote: I haven't seen the same map twice in a row today, unlike everyday up until now, and only had the railyard once.
