I still see people using injectors, i still see people smashing uplinks. We need 1 mil a day and we got 500k yesterday IF THAT. Unless we get over 2 million kills a day during the weekend then its over. I have a hunch its because theres no SP reward but whatever. Can we atleast get a follow up chance to win the BPO?

If we've done 1 million up until now over 2 days, and have about 3 days left (march 9th downtime), then we'd have to play a good weekend, maybe attain 3 million clones, and the last million on the monday... it will be close and also much harder considering the player base is much lower than it used to be. Personally I don't mind the rewards, but it hasn't changed my play habits... I just login, play the dailies then log off... if there was some kind of personal goal attached to the global goal it would be more interesting...

They have the stats of how many kills the community make in a set week so I believe it's quite possible they're doing this on the knowhow that it is possible but with a little push. I'm sure we'll achieve it or CCP will drop it to 4 mill remember last event the community hit just under 3 mill in a weekend but that was for sp. Nevertheless just play the game for what it is and if we get it we get it exposedsquad

You don't want to hurt your K/DR, well the event is only 5 days in length and we are halfway through it, just play something else or use an alt you don't care about and spam BPOs. Quit sniping, tanking, ADSing, and join the meat grinder soldiers! Or troll the community, it's your prerogative.

If the problem is high KDR players facing low KDR players instead of each other, I think I might have a suggestion ... KDR matchmaking fixes everything but the stupid purple Quafe stuff.

Squad of Vacuum Cleaners* in protosuits Squad of Prima Gallicus* in protosuits Squad of Dead Men* in protosuits Some Nyain San* in protosuits Various others, in protosuits If this is gameplay-level in public(!) matches, no fracking wonder that no-one are bothering with the event - where's the fun for the average player (or newbros), if they are the designated meat in the grinder for not being able to afford (ISK or SP) to run constant proto? Before someone argues that all-proto squads vs randoms in MLT gear results in high kill-numbers: It results in lower participation due to a lack of fun, which in turn gives a lower kill-count. (Part of) the player has spoken - they don't care about the event, and will continue to do their level best to ensure it fails. *: I see dickless people remain dickless, here 10 months later

I can see where you're coming from, but I've had a lot of fun running BPOs as much as possible and completely letting go of any sort of self preservation that I had. Ironically I'm one of those "type of people" that think tax lotteries are scams... because they are, but I absolutely agree with you that the goal is to kill and be killed. Not roll around in a tank/proto squads going 8/0 or 15/2. What we need is many more people going 15/15 and such. Like I said earlier, I'm cool with people not caring about the event, but I'm pretty sure with the level of coordination I keep seeing in pubs SINCE the event started that people are try harding for the event and not understanding the concept of K/D versus K/DR.

The reason we are losing the event at the moment is , of those who are participating, because players are doing exactly what they do even when an event like this isn't happening. Spawn on the contentious CRU's, spam clones and attack attack attack. Who cares about winning? Win what you need for your missions, and win the obligatory 3 matches total that you need to qualify for the reward and beyond that have fun. Try builds you would never try before. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out and you add to the clone count. What's killing this event right now are the try hards. Everything you learned about being good at Dust(Picking your battles, spawning in safe locations, establishing control of the battlefield) forget it. We don't need that behavior. What we need is people having fun shooting each other and dying. You can go back to fantasizing about being the very best that no one ever was Tuesday. Until then, let your hair down and treat yourself to some fun girlfriend!

Could be coincidence but I think people are try harding but don't understand why. So I see a lot of ambush matches lately end like 0/20 or 20/0 clone counts with 4 minutes left on the clock (Slow ambushes) and red lined matches in dom and skirmish of 100/150 150/100 clone counts. All the proto spam is slowing down the meat grinder. Don't even get me started on the douche canoes running around in tanks and ADS. We want quantities of K/D not good K/DR. You don't want to hurt your K/DR, well the event is only 5 days in length and we are halfway through it, just play something else or use an alt you don't care about and spam BPOs. Quit sniping, tanking, ADSing, and join the meat grinder soldiers! Or troll the community, it's your prerogative. Edit: From what I've seen we could easily still hit the 5 million clone count if players just start grinding each other in BPOs and such. If the problem is high KDR players facing low KDR players instead of each other, I think I might have a suggestion ... You've already wasted more effort hinting about a kdr matchmaking system Than it would take to make your own thread. People can't think for themselves. You should just lay out the pros and cons.

Which isn't the issue at all. High KD/R players period are an issue for this event. You get high KD/Rs by being cautious... that won't meet our CCP overlords' meat quota. Quantity and not quality, is what we need for the event. It's not about killing more with a certain weapon than others, it's not about winning so many matches or earning so much sp. It's about killing and dying. That's it, so as long as you're out there "interacting" with the enemy you are helping. If you're putting on your big boy stomping shoes and chasing all the other children away, you're not helping. If you're hiding in a vehicle or in your red line, you're not helping. As the Abusive Sergeant says, "Get out there and fight maggot!" Edit: And for those that don't understand why people won't just leave their red line when you're strategically shutting them down... you must be only children (no siblings) whose parents never took you to the park huh?

It's quite some simple math: Assume a 2,200 player average across the weekend (48 hour period) [This is backed up by average numbers over a weekend period from EVE Offline] Then assume that each of those 2,200 average then has an average death of 1 / min (Which in practice is probably a bit low for the average player who is actively jumping in matches) 2,200 * 60 * 48 (avg players * avg deaths per hour * weekend period) = 6.3 Million deaths. The 5 MMC is not such an impossible goal with these kinds of average numbers. Accounting for the 1 million we've already killed before the weekend starts, we could assume the average player count over the weekend needed to reach the remaining 4 Million Clones: Assuming the previous average of 1 death / min: 4,000,000 / (60 * 48) = ~1389 average players. EVE-Offline Week Average: ~2200 So we would need roughly 63% of the average player count over the weekend to meet this goal. Now let's hear the opposite argument that 1/ min average deaths per player is too high. using that 2,200 average (for a week) number, which should be more than conservative: 4,000,000 / (2200 * 48) = ~ 38 So we would need an average of 38 deaths / hour for each player to meet the remaining 4 million clones. Math, taking the magic out of tin-foil theory.

I would prefer they gave out the consolation BPO to people that got more than 500 kills and deaths combined over the course of the event, rewarding those that tried to help out and leaving all the "lol i got my 3 Wins, good luck guys!" scrubs with nothing.
