Are you tryng to catch butterflies in the red line? It s ok have fun as it is a game but if you dont play for win you can play barbie or hello kitty I liked LAV racing, that was fun. Didn't win. I also like melee fits, don't always win but hella fun. Same with PLC. Just because IWS said it doesn't mean you have to automatically hate... Doesn't matter who says it, automatically hate. I'm not saying you can't play just to have fun but if you aren't trying to win even just a little bit then you're a wasted spot on the team. You can play to win and have fun as well, the two aren't mutually exclusive; but if you just want to jerk off, there's porno for that. You don't always win but at least you tried, even if it was only slightly harder than the rest of the dipshits on your team.

I bet you're that douche in gym that is always bitching at the fat kid you got on your team because he can't run as fast.
Like real life, there's a place for competition and one for fun in DUST, FW+PC and pubs respectively.
I'm a douche by asking for the slightest bit of effort? If you say so.
Like I said before, the two aren't mutually exclusive but If you aren't going to be competitive then why play a game where every mode is a competitive mode? Why play a game built around being competitive? And don't tell me anything with "sandbox" in it; EVE: Online is a sandbox, EVE: DUST 514 is not.
And again, I'm not saying you have to go balls to the walls about it but if you want to fck around instead of trying to win you should go do it where it won't negatively impact other players. I'm not an "MLG player", by most measures I'm a casual player so I'm not trying to shove some elitist bullshit up anyone's ass. But jesus christ man, CoD players put more effort into winning than most of the people here and winning is even more meaningless there than it is here.

The rest I get where you're coming from, but I don't get this one line: Where in the world would that be, may I ask, if pubs is not the place? Getting stomped gets annoying, sometimes I just feel like f*cking around... People fcking around/not trying is the reason most stomps happen.

It's better than getting your ass handed to you 100 times over with this garbage matchmaking. People fcking around and not trying are most certainly not symptoms of stomping; they're symptoms of a "I got mine" attitude that this game's community & flawed design fosters. This sh!t has been happening since at least the start of open beta and that was when most people were really excited about this game. When people could go into a match and not see a single proto and in my opinion when matchmaking was at it's best (didn't really have a system in place at the time). Yet each match had people that just fcked around and were otherwise not trying on both sides but sadly one side always had more than the other which has had a snowball effect to where one team has 1-6 people not trying while the other has 10-16 people not trying.

If not pubs, where do I go to not care about winning? FW, where winning and losing is relevant to some egghead in the sky? PC, where winning and losing is directly relevant to my corp and my wallet? Seriously, I'd love to hear your answer. I did answer his question, with a question. Seriously, if you're not even going to put forth even just a slight bit of effort to win then why are you playing a competitive game? Don't feel like being competitive? Go play a game that isn't built around it.

Passive way of telling you to go play a non-competitive game.

Sorry, didn't realize I had to play competitively. Don't worry, I'm only doing this for the sake of argument. I like arguing the hard part, it's better than being a conformist most of the time. I could turn around and say what you guys have been saying. But here are some points to REALLY consider: Against derping around: 1. You can't run **** fits and be competitive 2. This game is a competitive game 3. You're ruining my fun For derping around: 1. You can be competitive and run shitfits 2. This game is not necessarily a competitive game. 3. What's the point of the game if not to have fun Now, some points to remember, winning isn't always fun, and being competitive isn't always either. Also, if they're dicking around in the redline, they won't go 0-20. If it really was a close game and you lost because someone was dicking around, is it really that much of a loss? You had a good game, had a good score, and probably had some fun. The only people who would not agree with this last part are those who a. care too much about K/D, or b. were like those who thought it was a good idea for the "call for help" function to be implemented in a team based game. Also, how can you say Dust is a competitive game at this point when most games are extremely one sided I assure you 90% of the time it isn't because of some dudes in the redline derping around. I'm really starting to think you and I are arguing slightly different things. One of the first things I said was "I'm not saying you can't play to have fun". You can run dipshit lol fits all day long and still put in a slight bit of effort towards winning the match. You can still race your little tin cans around the map as you hack objectives but if all you want to do is race, go play Forza. I'm not asking people to follow me into hell, I'm just asking for a little bit of damn effort. Being competitive doesn't mean you're playing like an "MLG" player and going balls to the walls about it. It just means you're putting in some kind of effort towards the win.
I can say dust is a competitive game because every mode it has is designed for one team to compete against another team. Matches are so one-sided because of the "I got mine" attitude I mentioned earlier. The vast majority of my matches I see good players on both sides but only see one of the sides actually push for the win while the other side's good players are just doing what they can to get as many points for themselves.
