Except if everyone ran proto in pubs, no one would ever have enough money to run proto in pubs... If everyone went all out, and you never got to stomp several matches, your balance would be ****.
Hence why I don't get people using proto in pubs.
If we got payed for what we kill on the other hand... |

Sure the game has teams but what is wrong with assuming the reason there are teams is to make the game interesting because the point of games is to be interesting?
Since some people say it is team game I will treat it as such, However They are probably in the minority and I really don't get where there certainty comes from. When you have a group of people with a common goal teamwork is important and rewarding but there is no solid reason to think dust is actually supposed to be that type of experience, that type of experience is not hard to find, in fact it should be a big part of your life.
Some people have just decided the opinion "there are teams so it must be team game" is right and the opinion "It is a game and games are supposed to be fun" is wrong. I am sorry, but those people should not expect people to treat baseless decisions as solid facts, I will treat it as team game to spare myself reading irrational garbage.
So uhm... How do you go about winning the game?
Is it by... Having your team hold the objective the longest?
Or... Your team wipes out the other teams clones?
Also... A group of mercenaries working together are a... What?
Is it not a team game because you can play for isk, sp, daily missions, blowing up vehicles or coming top of the leaderboards? Because I'm pretty sure even if you do them, it doesn't guarantee the game telling you that you've won.
Mejt0 wrote:I said adv and proto. Adv cost nothing and it's just as good as proto. What i'm saying is that the gap between std - adv is much bigger than adv-pro, so 5 adv guys would help a lot. I'm not talking about sentinel ofc. They can use militia.
In conclusion i'll once again say something about proto : 1. There's nothing else to spend isk on other than proto. 2. When someone is running solo proto gear is the best option to not die within 10seconds from enemy stompers.
ADV can cost about 50k which is about the cost of 4 deaths in an average payout. If everyone is fighting like hell over objectives all in ADV suits, chances are you're going to lose money, once again ADV is only viable when you come out on top.
People running std or lower are making a tidy profit (even in the likely event they get stomped) which is the way to generate enough isk to run ADV or proto in the first place.
1 - it would be nice to have more to spend money on. There are currently only vehicles, suits and clones to spend money on, with the latter being somewhat pointless with PC being so broken. I imagine the warbarge will likely have some things implemented that you can spend isk on at some point. Giving people something to 'fight for' would be a nice way to encourage spending, but I still wouldn't suggest that place to be pubs.
2 - When running solo the best idea is not to run expensive gear you can't afford to lose, because against a well coordinated team your best chance is to give them surprise butt-sex, which is doable in any suit.
Running proto in pubs is clearly not intended for everyone, otherwise it would be self sustaining. |
