Before I begin, I would like to thank Arkena Wirkspire for inspiring me to make this Minmatar guide, and would like to give her credit as I will be using the same form as she used.
A tough, no-nonsense race, the Minmatar are a determined and independent people.
This is a comprehensive guide on how to fight Minmatar Style.
Are you a blueberry that randomly chose the Minmatar race? Are you a dedicated lore reader that carefully chose your race? Either way, start here at this guide. I will take you from the very basics to your first prototype fitting.
As a very dedicated Dust 514 player, I have been through all four races, not really knowing which race to stick with, I finally got to liking the Minmatar race, and have been a loyal Republican ever since. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up and if you want further assistance, join Y.A.M.A.H and friends pub, a friendly chat channel that helps blueberries and vets alike. This is also a great place to squad up, I live in the PST time zone and a lot of the Y.A.M.A.H people live in the EST.
Please feel free to critique this guide as much as youGÇÖd like, I specialize in using the Minmatar Assault but I have experience in all five classes.
This is a very long guide so to help you navigate, there is a CTRL-F system. Merely press those two buttons at the same time and type [M#], depending on if you want to skip the basics.
This is a comprehensive guide, but I will not go into the very videogame basics, besides, I think we know that you use L1 to aim alright?
[M1] The Skill System. Earning the space monies [M2] The Nightmare known as the fitting system. How does it work? [M3] Strike Hard and Strike Fast, the Minmatar Combat Philosophy [M4] Minmatar Weaponry [M5] The Assault Suit [M6] The Logistics Suit [M7] The Scout Suit [M8] The Commando Suit [M9] The Sentinel Suit [M10] Afterword
The first two sections are purely technicalities, and if you already know these things just skip them and go to the meat of the thread.
[M1] The Skill System, Earning the space monies
Pretty much every game out there has a progression system of some sort. Dust 514GÇÖs progression system is called the Skill System. Of any game, this is arguably the most detailed progression systems out there. Almost all items in Dust 514 requires skills to operate them. The only items that do not need certain skills are militia items, which can be found in the GÇ£Militia GearGÇ¥ section of the marketplace, they are cheap and good for making money, but very bad for competitively playing, and standard AUR, items, which you purchase using money from real life. AUR items will require two levels less than regular items of the same caliber.
Skill Points are the currency for the Skill Point System, Skill Points will now be referred to as GÇ£SPGÇ¥ from here on out.
There are two types of SP, lifetime and unallocated. Lifetime is how much SP you have earned on that character total, and unallocated is how much SP you have to spend on skills. For instance, if you have 5 million lifetime SP, but you have used 4 million of it, you have 1 million SP to spend on skills.
You start out with 500k lifetime SP and about 380k unallocated SP, because some is already spent on skills intended to help new players.
Post Uprising 1.10, SP is earned in five ways, Actively, Passively, Daily Login Bonus, Daily Missions, and from special events.
The first way to earn SP is actively. You do this by playing in matches. You get 5 SP for every second you are in a match, and you get 2 SP for every 1 WP(Warpoint).
The second way to earn SP is passively, you can only get SP passively on one character at a time so choose wisely which character you want to have more SP on. You earn about 5 SP per second, and about 24k SP in a day.
The third way to earn SP is through the Daily Login Bonus. Every time you login for the first time in a day, you get a certain amount of SP, 3000 the first day, the SP raises by 500 each day until a maximum of 6000 SP on the seventh day. If you miss a day, it will automatically reset to 3000.
The fourth way to earn SP is through Daily Missions, which are objectives you need to complete in order to get rewards such as SP and ISK, as well as items. The SP from Daily Missions is usually small.
The fifth, and rarest way to get SP is special events that happen maybe once or twice a year. For instance, we had a GÇ£Million Clone ChallengeGÇ¥ in which we were awarded 1 million SP for terminating 1 million clones, and another 1 million SP for terminating another million clones.
Active and Passive SP gained can be boosted greatly by buying skill point boosters for AUR, which multiply the amount of SP you gain.
Every skill in this game has a GÇ£skill point multiplierGÇ¥ that starts at 1x.
At the 1x multiplier, the skill points needed are shown from level 1 to level 5
Level 1: 6,220 Level 2: 18,650 Level 3: 43,350 Level 4: 87,060 Level 5: 155,460
As the number for the multiplier goes up, the amount of SP you need GREATLY increases. For instance, at a 8x multiplier, just the Level 5 skill requires close to 2 million SP.
There are seven separate categories of Dust 514, each called a GÇ£skill tree.GÇ¥
The skill trees are the following:
Dropsuit Command Dropsuit Upgrades Weaponry Vehicle Command Vehicle Upgrades Turret Operation Corporations
I will not deal with Vehicles and Corporations in this guide, but will be focusing on the first three skills.
Every tree has nodes, and starts with one single node. To progress up the skills, you must level up the nodes using SP, and once it is up to a certain level, you will have unlocked the next node(s). NOTE: Do not level up the first node to level 5 for Dropsuit Command and Dropsuit Upgrades, and only level up the first node for weaponry up to 5 if you want to use heavy weapons.

Dropsuit command lets you unlock different kinds of dropsuit frames, and from there different classes.
Level up the first node to 1,2,or 3 depending on what you want to play as.
Note that medium frames require level 1, light frames require level 2, and heavy frames require level 3. DO NOT level this skill past 3, it is completely wasted as it offers no passive bonus. After you have leveled up this skill choose which dropsuit you want to use.
The three different types of frames are light, medium, and heavy, each of them has their advantages and disadvantages.
Light frames are the fastest of all the dropsuits, but they have low health, so they will usually resort to sneak attacks around your flanks. From light frames you unlock the path to the Scout Dropsuit.
Medium frames are what your basic grunt soldier would wear. But donGÇÖt be confused, these things are just as helpful to a team as any scout or heavy. They have good speed, and good health, though not as much as a heavy. From the medium frames you can skill into the Assault and Logistics Dropsuits.
Heavy frames are the lumbering, monstrous power houses with enormous health, but very, very slow. They are especially good in indoor places, and a well organized team will always have a heavy on an indoor objective. Their weapons also put out massive damage. From the heavy frames, you can skill into the Commando and Sentinel Dropsuits.
Of course the frame you choose will be Minmatar, which is why youGÇÖre reading this guide of course. However, do not let me restrict you to just Minmatar Dropsuits, but this guide will only cover the Minmatar Dropsuits.
Each basic frame you unlock has a 4x skill point multiplier. Once you get that skill to level 3, you can unlock the specialized suits (Assault, Logistics, Scout, Commando, and Sentinel).
Dropsuit Upgrades is your skill tree where you unlock better modules and equipment to put on your dropsuit. This tree is just as important as Dropsuit Command or Weaponry, so do not disregard this skill tree.
When you get your starting node to level 1 you unlock Dropsuit Core Upgrades, level 2 will unlock shield and armor upgrades, and level four will unlock biotic upgrades.
As Minmatar, we are a double tanking race, and we will use armor and shields equally, although we favor shields more. We will have lower armor than Gallente or Amarr, and lower shields than Caldari. If you plan on being a Minmatar Scout, only focus on shields. However all the other suits will use both forms of health to tank.
In Dropsuits Upgrades there is a skill called GÇ£Core Upgrades.GÇ¥ This skill is very important to upgrade as not only it unlocks all of the various equipment, but it also raises your PG/CPU by 1% each level so you can fit more and better items on your suits.
At level 1 of Dropsuit Upgrades you unlock Dropsuit Electronics, and Dropsuit Engineering. Dropsuits Electronics raises your CPU by 5% each level, and Dropsuit Engineering raises your PG by 5% each level, this makes this skill very useful, because at level 5 you will have 25% extra PG/CPU which means you can fit better gear on your suit.
Dropsuit Electronics will also lead to three electronic warfare, known as EWAR, skills that upgrade how powerful your passive scan is, how far your passive scan reaches, and how much the enemy can scan you.
At level 2 of Dropsuit Upgrades you unlock Dropsuit Equipment, which go in your equipment slot and are deployable or nondeployable. For instance, the nanohive is a deployable equipment that you have to put on the ground to replenish your ammo and the repair tool is a nondeployable equipment that you aim at a teammate to heal them.
Dropsuit Armor Upgrades and Dropsuit Shield Upgrades are equally important to the Minmatar, as we use both. This is where you can level up skills to gain access to modules that either raise your health, increase the amount of health you repair per second, or in the case of shields, how long it will take for your shields to start repairing.
Do not stop leveling Dropsuit Armor Upgrades or Shield Upgrades just once you unlock your modules, upgrade it to level 5 as it gives a 5% bonus to either armor or shields respectively. Once you get these to level 5 you have a huge bonus to your ehp(equal hp: combined armor and shield health).
Armor Plating will unlock armor plates that progress up in health as you level up, and also has a small passive bonus. As Minmatar we will be using Ferroscale Plates the most, which are Plates that give you less hp than a regular Armor Plate, but do not penalize you on your speed, which is very important to a Minmatar. The Armor Plates, as well as other modules all have three tiers, much like Dropsuits, that go from Basic, Enhanced, and Complex.
Armor Repair Systems will unlock armor repairers that progress up in the amount you repair your armor as you level up, and has a very good passive bonus of 5% more armor repaired by the module per second. As Minmatar usually one armor repairer will be enough.
Shield Extension is the Shield equivalent of Armor Plating, which progress up in health as you level up the skill, the difference between shields and armor plates is that Shields give you a vastly lower amount of health, but do not penalize your speed and also repairs by a much higher amount. The catch is, that your shields will only start repairing if you have not sustained damage for a x amount of seconds, meaning that if you want health, you will have to find somewhere to take cover.

Shield Recharging is the equivalent of Armor Repair Systems, and they progress up in the percent of shields you recharge per second. There are two variants, Shield Rechargers and Shield Energizers. Shield Rechargers will just increase the percent you recharge your shields, and no strings attached. However Shield Energizers give you more health recovered per second, but lowers your shields by a certain percent. As Minmatar with an already low ehp, we will use the Rechargers over the Shield Energizers.
Shield Regulation is special to the Shield health system. Shields have a recharge delay, and a depleted recharge delay, which mean that it will take x amount of seconds without taking damage before your Shields start repairing, and even a longer time for it to start repairing when all your shields are gone. Shield Regulators decrease the amount of time it takes for this recharge delay to happen, meaning you can get back to the battle quicker. As you level this skill up the Shield Regulators also progress.
As a Minmatar, upgrade your Armor and Shield Skills equally, because you will use both equally in most cases.
The final tree I will cover is the Weaponry tree. This tree unlocks all the various weapons of Dust, and also damage modifiers which increase the amount of damage your weapons do to the enemy.
You are probably bored to death by now so I will go over this tree quickly.
Weaponry level 1 unlocks Sidearm operation which makes you able to unlock the various sidearms there are Weaponry level 3 unlocks Explosives(which include remote explosives and more importantly grenades), Handheld Upgrades(damage modifiers), as well as Light Weapons, which are of the most interest to you as they unlock the weapon you will probably be using the most. Weaponry level 5 unlocks Heavy Weapons, which are the HMG and the forge gun, used by Sentinels, do not unlock this skill to level 5 unless you are sure you want to use the Sentinel.
There are many more skills in this tree but they are all very self explanatory so I need not elaborate on those.
And we are over with the technical stuff, so lets move on to weapons.
WAIT?! ThereGÇÖs more?!

[M2] The Nightmare known as the fitting system. How does it work?
After just reading about the Skill System, you thought it couldnGÇÖt get any more complicated. You were wrong.
Make no mistake, fittings are the funnest thing to mess around with, but deciding which fitting is right for you may or may not give you a headache.
Okay letGÇÖs get to it. Once you deploy into a battle, you go in a dropsuit. The dropsuits you use are characterized by what suit they are, and how you fit your suit. Basically your suit itself, hp modules, EWAR, weaponry, grenade, and more all defines your suit. Why does it matter you ask? Because even the simplest of changes in one of your suit, can make a huge difference.
All dropsuits have two fitting GÇ£requirementsGÇ¥:PG and CPU (Each module, weapon, and equipment have a certain PG/CPU, and if you go past the amount of PG/CPU your suit can handle, than that suit is invalid and you canGÇÖt use it.
All dropsuits have a certain number of slots, in which you can put modules that increase the effectiveness of your dropsuit.
There are many different kinds of slots:
Heavy Weapon Slots (represented by an H) can fit any weapon and this slot is only included on the Sentinel. Light Weapon Slots (represented by an L) can fit Light Weapons and Sidearms Sidearm Slots (represented by an S) can fit only Sidearms And Grenade Slots (represented by a grenade icon) can fit grenades
High Slots are represented by two dashed horizontal lines and are found on the left side of the dropsuit fitting screen, and can fit a number of certain modules.
Damage Modifiers Shield Extenders Shield Rechargers Myofibril Stimulants Precision Enhancers
You will shield extenders and rechargers the most often, and sometimes maybe a damage modifier in place of a recharger. As Minmatar scouts are not EWAR oriented you usually will not use Precision Enhancers much.
Myofibs are in a class of their own and increase melee damage, which is how effectively you can punch someone. If you level this up you can get quite a few laughs and quite a few hatemails and can take out scout suits in one hit, medium frames in two hits, and heavy frames in 4-5 hits.
Low slots are represented by a single, thick, vertical line and are found on the right side of the fitting screen, and like High Slots, can fit a number of modules.

Armor Plates Armor Repairers Range Amplifiers - DonGÇÖt worry about it Profile Dampeners - DonGÇÖt worry about it Cardiac Regulators Kinetic Catalysers Codebreakers CPU extenders - Only use these in extreme cases PG extenders - Same as above Shield Regulators
Armor plates, repairers, and Shield Regulators are the most important modules on this list.
Some other very important modules are Kinetic Catalysers and Codebreakers. Kinetic Catalysers are modules that increase your speed and are a very important skill to level up, even if it might take a while, because on a Minmatar Scout, these things are deadly and you can run almost as fast as a tank.
Codebreakers are modules that increase your hacking speed, and on a proto Min Scout you can hack an objective in less than 5 seconds.
Last but not least are equipment slots. There are many equipment you can use, and all of them are useful, so here is a list:
Active Scanner: A Gallente tool that highlights enemies in a certain area as long as they are not dampened, and even the protoscanner might pick up a dampener. Has a cooldown.
Nanohives: Deployable equipment that creates a bubble in which you restore your ammo by a certain percent every second. Includes a variant which restores your armor as well as your ammo.
Nanite Injector: Revives people who have died and restores a certain portion of health to that person, depending on what tier of Injector you are using. Does not work if the person you are trying to revive is terminate (Cuz letGÇÖs face it, you are not going to survive a railgun to the face, I donGÇÖt care if this is 20000 years in the future).
Remote Explosive: A waffle sized object that sticks to walls/vehicles and explodes when you press L1, but unfortunately does not stick to people(KAMIKAZE BLUEBERRY). There is the normal one, than the packed variant which sucks, and the proximity which explodes when a vehicle goes over it.
Drop Uplink: A cursed Amarrian tool that is unfortunately useful and is a remote destructible spawn point
Repair Tool: An item that you hold in your hand which you aim at a friendly target to heal their armor. Especially useful on heavies.
Cloak Field: Use this to be transparent, NOT invisible. Hard to see you if you are still, but there is a blue shimmer when you move.

[P3] Strike Hard and Strike Fast, the Minmatar Combat Philosophy
What this means is see a gap in the enemy defense, exploit it, as soon as danger arises get out of there. Minmatar weapons deal a lot of damage, but their shoots have generally lower ehp than other suits, with higher speed than other suits. Minmatar work well with dual tanking, so even if the enemy gets your shields down, you still got your armor.
Minmatar suits will not have as high armor than a Amarrian, or even Gallentean suit, and not as much shield as a Caldari, but has a mixture of both. Minmatar have an average armor repair rate, and a very good recharge delay time on the shields.
One of the Minmatar advantages is that they have the fastest suits in the game, with the Caldari being the second fastest. Many people will speed tank with Minmatar suits instead of dual tanking and this is just as viable.
Minmatar weaponry works at all weaponry, nova knives at close range, combat rifle at medium range, and mass driver for long range, although the mass driver is good at all ranges.
Minmatar use high slots and low slots equally, and these are used for shield rechargers, shield extenders, shield regulators, armor repairers, ferroscale plates, and biotics modules. I can not overemphasize the importance of kinetic catalysers, and these are the base of speed tanking.
This concludes the Minmatar Combat Philosophy, and now the part I know you were waiting for.

[M4] Minmatar Weaponry
All weapons are tiered the same as Dropsuits, and increase in damage with each tier.
The Minmatar Republic makes six different weapons, the Combat Rifle, the Mass Driver, the Flaylock Pistol, the Submachine Gun, Nova Knives, and the Heavy Machine Gun.
Combat Rifle: My personal favorite, the MinmatarGÇÖs rifle is good at medium to close range, has a large clip size, and does projectile damage, which means it will do 85% damage against shields, while doing 115% against armor. It is a light weapon and it comes in two variants.
The regular combat rifle is a semiautomatic rifle that does shots in bursts of four, if you can make all your shots count, this weapon is deadly. It has a very good clip size and a good reload time. It comes with a scope.
The assault combat rifle is an automatic variant that does less damage per shot, but has a larger clip size and a faster fire rate. It is good if you release the trigger when firing every couple seconds as this weapon has a god awful kick if you hold it down. Leveling up the Combat Rifle Sharpshooter skill is a skill you might want to look at if you use this weapon. This weapon does not have a scope and uses iron sights.
Mass Driver: A little bit like a futuristic grenade launcher, it explodes on impact and you will do most of your damage with its explosion. It has a small clip size and a very small max ammo, so be sure to bring a nanohive. The mass driver does explosive damage, which means it will do 80% damage against shields, while doing 120% damage against armor. It is a light weapon and it comes in three different variants. All mass drivers are semiautomatic.
The regular mass driver has a explosive object which arcs to deal splash damage to opponents, it is good for driving people out of cover. You can also deal good damage to LAVs. It comes with sights but theyGÇÖre awful so donGÇÖt use them. The regular mass driver is arguably the best mass driver.
The breach mass driver variant is a mass driver that has very little splash radius and damage, but does huge direct damage. However it has a very low clip size, and a very low max ammo, so it is pretty useless unless you want to spitwad vehicles.
The assault mass driver variant is a mass driver that has a larger splash damage than the regular mass driver, but does less damage. It is very good for driving people out of cover and also good for confusing and scattering the enemy team.
Submachine Gun: The submachine gun is a weapon that does low damage, but has a huge clip size and a very high fire rate. However it has a very low range so it is suited for very close range combat when there is several enemies. The motto of this weapon is GÇ£spray and prey.GÇ¥ It deals projectile damage. It is a sidearm and it comes in three variants.
The regular submachine gun has a very large clip, a high fire rate, and deals good damage. However it has a short range. It comes with a sight but most of the time you will hipfire this weapon, although there are some cases where you would use the sight.
The breach submachine variant is a submachine gun that has a smaller clip, a slower firing rate, but better damage, and better dispersion. It also is better over range. Right now it is arguably the best submachine gun.
The assault submachine variant is a submachine gun with a larger clip size than the regular submachine gun, a higher fire rate, less dispersion, and slightly more damage. It also has a higher range. From the description it sounds like it might be the best out of all of these, but trust me when I say it is not.

Flaylock Pistol: My favorite sidearm, the Flaylock pistol is a pistol that has a small clip, but deals a lot of damage if you land all your shots. It does explosive damage and it has a very small blast radius, but enough to deal good damage. DO NOT use the iron sights on this weapon. It uses explosive damage and it comes in two variants.
The regular Flaylock Pistol has a clip of four, so make every shot count. If you make every shot count, you are rewarded by dealing massive damage to the enemy. However it takes practice to use this weapon efficiently.
The Breach Flaylock Pistol is a two clip flaylock pistol that does HUGE direct damage and mediocre splash damage. When I say HUGE, I mean one shotting scouts huge. This version is not used very much as it is very hard to use, but very satisfying when you get a direct hit. It only comes in the STD tier because CCP knew that the STD was too OP as it is.
Nova Knives: A very unique sidearm weapon, the nova knives specialize in close range combat. And I donGÇÖt mean close like a shotgun, I mean close enough that you can tell me what shampoo the enemy is using. The damage from this weapon increases dramatically with each tier, so if you want to use these, it is well worth leveling up. A single nova knifer can decimate a squad and a proto knifer can one shot most medium suits, and two shot most heavy suits. You can use it without charging, but the nova knives have a charging option that charges your knives for about 1 second(gets better each tier) and the next swing you do will do double damage. Note that the Minmatar Scout has a bonus to Nova Knives.
Heavy Machine Gun: If youGÇÖve ever played COD, you will know this as the equivalent of the Death Machine. It has a MASSIVE clip, the largest in the game, and does not do that much damage per shot, but has a huge fire rate. However it also has an overheat penalty, which means that if you fire it for long periods, it will overheat and take a few seconds to cooldown. It is a heavy weapon and can only be equipped by sentinels and comes in three different variants. It deals projectile damage.
The regular Heavy Machine Gun has a huge clip, a huge fire rate, and has an average overheat penalty, but not one that you should worry too much about as by that time pretty much anything you were shooting at is dead now. It is very good indoors.
The Assault Heavy Machine Gun is the same as the Heavy Machine Gun except that it does less damage, and is GÇ£supposedGÇ¥ to have a larger range, but it really doesnGÇÖt work and is considered to be the most inferior Heavy Machine Gun.
The Burst Heavy Machine Gun, fires in bursts, and has a very big overheat penalty, you will not be firing this for too long at a time. But while you do, it does a lot of damage with each burst, and dominates heavy vs. heavy battles.

[M5] The Assault Suit
The assault class is a very versatile suit which can be fitted for almost any situation. They do all the grunt infantry work, but this does not make them any less valuable a suit. Arguable, the Minmatar Assault is the best assault suit as of right now.
If you are a beginner of Dust, I recommend you start off with the Minmatar Assault because it is very easy to use.
All suits have a class bonus, and a bonus specifically for that race of dropsuit. The Assault class is giving a 5% reduction to PG/CPU for light weapons and grenades per skill level, and the Minmatar racial bonus is a 5% increase to the clip size of projectile weapons per skill level.
You can see all the basic stats of your dropsuit on Dust 514 itself, by clicking GÇ£show infoGÇ¥ in the marketplace or your fittings screen. Everything after this depends on your playstyle and is up to you but I will give you tips on what to do.
The Minmatar like fighting as hard as they can, while being smart about it.
The Minmatar Assault is dependent on its speed and dual tank, so upgrading your Armor Upgrades and Shield Upgrades skill is imperative. These will help you out a lot in your quest to one day be a protostomping machine.
This is a recommended fit and also my personal fit that I use:
Suit: Assault M-1
Light Weapon: Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: Flaylock Pistol Grenade: Locus Grenade
High Slots: 1 basic shield extender, 1 basic shield recharger
Low Slots: 1 basic armor repairer, 1 basic shield regulator
Equipment: Nanohive
This will give you good tank, and good shield and armor repairing. You have no speed penalty which means you will move faster than most other assault suits. Always be on the move, never stay in one place for more than 15 seconds.
Always find the weakest target in a group and take it out. For instance if you see an enemy heavy and a logi repping it, donGÇÖt go for the heavy just because its killing everyone, go for the logi that is repairing it therefore cutting the heavy off from his health supply. The greatest are held by the weakest, and by cutting them off, the great fall.
However still be smart about your fighting, if you see a group of enemies and you are the only friendly around, donGÇÖt run in there guns blazing saying YOLO, instead pick them off at a distance, and run when they go after you.

Also, determine the best course of action depending on the situation and the enemy. If you see a heavy with its back to you, but it has over 1200 ehp, do you try to take it on? Well, if its outside, go for it, but if it's indoors, I would say better not to try it.
Remember that this is not a law to abide by, just a guide, so feel free to make changes to the fitting as you see fit! Everyone has a personal preference!
Advanced Recommended Fitting:
Suit: Assault M/1-Series
Light Weapon: BK-42 Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: GN-13 Flaylock Pistol Grenade: M-1 Locus Grenade
High Slots: 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders, 1 Enhanced Shield Recharger
Low Slots: 1 Enhanced Ferroscale Plate, 1 Enhanced Armor Repairer, 1 Enhanced Shield Regulator
Equipment: K-2 Nanohive
As you can see, there is a significant difference from STD to ADV gear. It is cheap enough that you can use a couple times and make a profit in a match before you go negative.
An Advanced Assault Combat Rifle gives you more damage output, while 1 more shield extender and a ferroscale plate really increase your survivability, while not hindering your speed.
You are a lot more dangerous, but this suit costs a bit more so donGÇÖt be reckless with it.
Suggested Prototype Fit:
Suit: Assault mk.0
Light Weapon: Six Kin Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: Core Flaylock Pistol Grenade: Core Locus Grenade
High Slots: 1 Complex Shield Recharger, 3 Complex Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 2 Complex Ferroscale Plates, 1 Complex Armor Repairer, 1 Complex Shield Regulator
Equipment: K-2 Nanohive This is an endgame fitting and it will take a long time to max out all the skills necessary for this fitting, but once you get it, it is well worth the wait.
Once you do unlock prototype, you have a universe of options. This is just one fitting out of thousands, so donGÇÖt be inflexible and feel free to change this how it suits you. I have many Minmatar Assault fittings. Want some speed? Replace a Complex Ferroscale plate with a Complex Kinetic Catalyser. Want more armor? Replace the Regulator with another Ferroscale plate. There is so much stuff you can do with this suit.
When you get to this point, you are basically at the top of the food chain, a hungry protostomping machine and you can take on almost any challenge. However just because itGÇÖs a better tier of gear, donGÇÖt use it carelessly, thereGÇÖs still plenty of things to kill you.
At this stage you have a lot of dual tank and a lot of speed. LetGÇÖs give an example:
Say, you dare to take on a group of three guys, one guys in a MLT frontline suit, one guys in a STD assault, and one guy is in an ADV Gallente Commando. You attack first by killing the Frontliner, easy prey. However, the assault and commando take down all your shields, before running away, you get shots off on the assault and get him down to very low armor. You run away, and they are too slow to follow you. After enough running you have decent health again, and you go back, the assault in his weakened state, dies easily, but the commando, gives you a little bit of trouble, but you can still take him on and beat him, thanks to your damage bonus against armor.

[M6] The Logistics Suit
The support class of Dust 514, the logi does many useful tasks that give it a lot of WP, by doing these tasks such as restoring ammo, reviving teammates, restoring teammates health, deploying Drop Uplinks, and being a heavies logi slave, most logis will get very high on the leaderboards.
Minmatar logistics are the best logi in the game hands down. They focus on repairing enemy teammates which gives them massive points in the first place. But with a lot of equipment slots, it can also, revive, spawn, and restore ammo.
The Minmatar Logistics Skill gives you a 5% bonus to repair tool range and repair amount per skill level for that racial dropsuit, and gives a 5% reduction to equipment cost per skill level for all logistics dropsuits.
You can find the base stats the same way you can find the base stats for the Minmatar Assault.
Minmatar Logistics will focus a little more on support than attacking, so I do not suggest putting damage mods on this suit, that is unless you want to be a slayer logi.
Note that the logistics dropsuits (besides the Amarrian) only have a light weapon and grenade slot.
Here are the recommended fittings per tier:
STD
Suit: Logistics M-1
Light Weapon: Breach Assault Rifle Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 1 Basic Myofibril Stimulant, 1 Basic Shield Extender
Low Slots: 1 Basic Armor Plate, 1 Basic Kinetic Catalyser
Equipment: Repair Tool, Nanite Injector, Drop Uplink
Now before you go crazy and ask me why I have a myofib, this is more of a personal preference. There have been many times where my teammates have died, I have nowhere to run, IGÇÖm out of ammo and I have no time to put down a nanohive. This is where I this fight to the death with my fists, and it proves more useful on higher tiers.
The kincat is to counter the armor plateGÇÖs speed penalty.
ADV
Suit: Logistics M/1-Series
Light Weapon: GB-9 Breach Assault Rifle Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 1 Enhanced Myofibril Stimulant, 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 2 Enhanced Kinetic Catalysers, 1 Enhanced Armor Plate
Equipment: BDR-8 Triage Repair Tool, KIN-012 Nanite Injector, P-13 Quantum Drop Uplink
The weapon choice is a breach assault rifle because it is a deadly weapon, and very good on a logistics suit if you do happen to have ammo and have to fight the enemy. Notice that I am not using the advanced Flux Grenade, this is because the advanced variant does the exact same thing as the standard, and only does extra shield damage, which would only be effective against shield tanking vehicles.
The two enhanced shield extenders is a step up in survival, but donGÇÖt go frontlining with a logi still. The chose two enhanced kinetic Catalysers with an enhanced armor plate instead of a enhanced ferroscale plate because I opted for a little less speed and more protection.
Instead of a regular repair tool, I chose a triage repair tool because it heals people for a larger amount of health, at the cost of less healing done to vehicles. And lets face it, nobody bothers to heal vehicles. A better nanite injector is always helpful, and the Quantum Drop Uplink is like the regular uplink, except that it can have more spawns on one uplink, which means your team can defend a point for longer.
PRO
Light Weapon: Breach Assault Rifle Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 1 Complex Myofibril Stimulant, 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders, 1 Complex Shield Extender
Low Slots: 2 Enhanced Kinetic Catalysers, 1 Complex Armor Plate, 1 Enhanced Armor Repairer
Equipment: Six Kin Triage Repair Tool, Wiyrkomi Nanite Injector, Viziam Quantum Drop Uplink, Ishukone Gauged Nanohive
One thing you may notice is that you can not fit all proto on this suit, and even with this you can just barely fit it. As a logi, always opt for better equipment, than better weapons or modules, because your equipment is your life.
Because of the reason above, you can only fit a standard Breach Assault Rifle, so this is a step down in offensive capability, flux grenade is of course still standard.
The Complex Myofib is just awesome, I really recommend you try it, the two enhanced and one complex shield extenders is still a step up in defensive power from the ADV logi.
In the low slots, I opted for a enhanced armor repairer rather than another armor plate, because than you just have too much armor to repair, and you do not have as much speed. The two enhanced kinetic catalysers make you faster and are for countering the speed penalty from the armor plate. It will even boost your speed even more.
As I said before, these fittings are just a guideline, you can make a fitting of your own choice, but these are just guidelines.

[M7] The Scout Suit
The Minmatar Scout is at least tied with the best scout in the game, if not the best scout in the game.
It is unique to all the other scout suits, the other scout suits focus on scanning capabilities, and capabilities to hide from scanners. However the Minmatar Scout is all about speed and power.
The scout bonus is a 15% reduction to the cloak field PG/CPU costs per skill level, and this is a blessing since the cloak field really drains a lot of PG/CPU. The bonus specifically to the Minmatar Scout is a 5% bonus to hacking speed and nova knife damage per level, once up to level five, this makes you super deadly.
Here are some recommended fittings:
STD
Suit: Scout M-1
Light Weapon: Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: Nova Knifes Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 2 Basic Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Basic Kinetic Catalyser, 1 Basic Codebreaker
Equipment: Cloak Field, Remote Explosive
This suit is made for speed, hacking, and assassinating. With this suit, always take the scenic route and flank behind the enemy team and donGÇÖt let them know what hit them.
The Assault Combat Rifle is for engagements where you donGÇÖt have anywhere to go, the enemy already saw you, and you are too far away to do anything with nova knives.
Nova Knifes, go behind the enemy time, and slice and dice until you see a +50 on the screen and you did the job right.
In the low slots, you see a Basic Codebreaker, what these do is decrease the time it takes to hack an objective and an installation, go behind enemy lines and confuse the enemy by making everything turn blue to you, and red to them.
For equipment choice, cloak field is a given, and remote explosives are for setting up traps for people to walk into.
ADV
Suit: Scout M/1-Series Light Weapon: Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: ZN-28 Nova Knives Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 2 Basic Shield Extenders, 1 Enhanced Shield Extender
Low Slots: 1 Enhanced Kinetic Catalysers, 1 Enhanced Codebreaker
Equipment: ARN-18 Cloak Field, F/45 Remote Explosive
This is a little bit of a step up in survivability, you have more speed and more hacking speed. With those advanced nova knives youGÇÖre going to start making people look behind them more often.
The advanced cloak field is a lot better than the standard, and I do not recommend you use anything above advanced. The F/45 remote explosives are also a lot better than standard REs and you're going to start blowing up people, and maybe even vehicles.
PRO
Suit: Scout mk.0
Light Weapon: Assault Combat Rifle Sidearm: Ishukone Nova Knives Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 3 Basic Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 2 Complex Kinetic Catalysers, 1 Complex Codebreaker
Equipment: ARN-18 Cloak Field, Boundless Remote Explosive
You might notice that you only have room to fit 3 basic shield extenders, this is fine because the Minmatar Scout focuses on it's speed, although a little extra survivability is good.
The Ishukone Nova Knives, in the right hands, can decimate a team, and be the deciding factor in a battle. With these you can probably one shot most medium suits, and two or three shot most heavies.
With the two Complex Kincats, you are going to move fast, and I mean FAST. With the codebreaker, you will be scaring the wits out of the enemy team by turning everything on their side to you're side.
The cloak field is explained above, and the proto remote explosive really packs a punch.
Again feel free to make changes to these fittings as you see GÇÿfitGÇÖ (see what I did there?)

[M8] The Commando Suit
The Commando suit is a specialized version of the Heavy suit, but is so different from the heavy suit, it is in a class of it's own.
Basically, the Commando suit has very good base health, a not too bad speed (though not as fast as an assault), and the ability to carry, not one, but two light weapons, at the cost of decreased high and low slots.
The Commando bonus is a 5% reload speed to light weapons per skill level, and the Minmatar racial bonus is a 2% increase to projectile and explosive damage per skill level.
The Minmatar Commando is well fitted for area denial and has the best commando of the four races arguably.
Here are some recommended fittings:
Suit: Commando M-1
Light Weapon: Assault Combat Rifle, Mass Driver
High Slots: 1 Basic Shield Extender
Low Slots: 1 Basic Armor Repairer
Equipment: Nanohive
This suit uses a mass driver to do major damage to groups of enemies, and an assault combat rifle if it ever needs to do frontline engagements.
The Basic Shield Extender is to help your survivability a bit more and the armor repairer is there for the same thing.
Nanohive is there for your own use, because you will run out of ammo often, and will need to restock ammo often.
ADV
Suit: Commando M/1-Series
Light Weapon: BK-42 Assault Combat Rifle, EXO-5 Mass Driver
High Slots: 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Enhanced Armor Repairer
Equipment: K-2 Nanohive
This suit has increased survivability from its modules, and also packs extra damage with its better weapons. You can also restock your ammo on the go.
Note: You can also switch the Mass Driver with a Swarm Launcher for anti armor capabilities.
PRO: Suit: Commando mk.0
Light Weapon: Six Kin Assault Combat Rifle, Freedom Mass Driver
High Slots: 2 Complex Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Basic Ferroscale Plate, 1 Complex Armor Repairer
Equipment: K-2 Nanohive
This suit will be dishing out tons of damage. You now have extra shield health, extra armor, and extra armor repair rate.
This suit works well with a squad, and also well as a lone wolf, which brings me to my next suit.

[M9] The Sentinel Dropsuit
The Sentinel Dropsuit, is you're basic mobile walking tank. It is capable of wielding a heavy weapon, and is the only class that can (besides basic heavy frame). This will be a major powerhouse and is a awesome defensive power.
The Sentinel Class bonus is a 5% to heavy weapon PG/CPU cost per level, and 5% bonus to splash damage resistance per skill level. The Minmatar racial bonus is a 3% bonus to laser damage resistance per level, and a 2% bonus to blaster damage resistance per skill level.
The Minmatar combines armor, shields, and speed for dependable lone wolf heavy. It is easily the second best heavy, under the Amarrian Heavy.
You know the drill, so I will only add the fittings and nothing else.
Here are the recommended fittings:
STD
Suit: Sentinel M-1
Heavy Weapon: Heavy Machine Gun Sidearm: Breach Submachine Gun Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 2 Basic Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Basic Armor Repairer
ADV
Suit: Sentinel M/1-Series
Heavy Weapon: MH-82 Heavy Machine Gun Sidearm: SK9M Breach Submachine Gun Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Enhanced Ferroscale Plate, 1 Enhanced Armor Repairer
PRO
Suit: Sentinel mk.0
Heavy Weapon: Boundless Heavy Machine Gun Sidearm: SK9M Breach Submachine Gun Grenade: Flux Grenade
High Slots: 3 Complex Shield Extenders
Low Slots: 1 Complex Ferroscale Plate, 1 Complex Armor Repairer

Suggestion: Avoid referring to things as 'best [role] in game', balance changes happen all the time and these statements can be extremely misleading. I would happily say that the amarr logi is situationally much better than the minmatar logi, but the min logi is great for general play.
I appreciate the effort you took to make this guide and I can provide some corroborating information for both the min-scout (alt has had it at level 5 since before the other scouts came in and got 400+ kills during the shinobi / mauler event) and the min-logi.
My biggest tip with nova knives is that they are a weapon of PATIENCE. If you run at something that is aware of you, you will die 9.5 times out of 10. If you wait for things to come to you however or wait for opportunities presented by say a distracted target you will generally murder them in a single swing.

I strongly agree with this.
Rather than say 'this X is best in the game', which is potentially misleading for newbies and likely not an objective statement, explain the strengths and weaknesses of X.
You can compare to Y, certainly, but the possibility of pressuring newbies into what has been claimed as the 'best' is something to be avoided.

Filler. Remove the first sentence.
AUR items will require two levels less than regular items of the same caliber.
Actually, not all AUR items are like this. For example, some Prototype AUR items cost less that their counterparts that have "proprietary protocols to minimize the skill level required.
For example, the 'Pyrus' Allotek Assault Rifle costs 50 AUR and needs level 3 to use, while the 'Construct' Duvolle Assault Rifle costs only 45 AUR but requires level 5 to use.
For instance, we had a GÇ£Million Clone ChallengeGÇ¥ in which we were awarded 1 million SP for terminating 1 million clones, and another 1 million SP for terminating another million clones.

NOTE: Do not level up the first node to level 5 for Dropsuit Command and Dropsuit Upgrades, and only level up the first node for weaponry up to 5 if you want to use heavy weapons.
I would refrain from using absolutes here and simply explain that it is not needed to max out a skill such as Dropsuit Command and Dropsuit Upgrades since there is no benefit to further increase this skill.

Aw. Poor fitting system. I like you just the way you are fitting system.
