I was wondering. I don't know how many people use ferroscale plates, but I assume few do as they give around half a armor plate gives you. And recently, everyone likes to tank. SO I propose to give ferroscale plates a dampener bonus so that they could be more effective on scouts- who want to stay "invisible"- while redusing the amount of tanked assault scouts.
Any thoughts? I say give 5% damp to std ferroscale, 10% to adv, 15% to proto, but feel free to give your ideas, opinions, and numbers.

Quite the opposite, I don't use normal plates for anything anymore. Not only do they reduce your speed by a good amount, but they reduce your strafe speed by DOUBLE that. Using plates basically gives you the ability to absorb more shots but disproportionately increases how many shots you take.
Reactive Plates is where it's at.

A bonus on the scan profile ? Why not, but 15% on the prototype, I think it's a lot, with the reductor you take -25%.
I think, the std => 5% the adv => 7.5% the pro => 10%
Isn't cheat, but it's a good bonus i think. Or the same as the cloak ?
std => 0% adv => 5% pro => 10%

? Ferroscale scale plates have much lower hp. Giving them more dampening will make scouts use them while having much less hp. I mean, it would also give better chances for all dropsuits to have a chance to be invisible to radar at the cost of hp. I would definitely use these on my gal scout

I don't use regular armor plates. Just reactive plates. I'm not making my Amarr Suits any slower than they are.

Shields need a straight up buff. Supposedly they are lower than armor because the regen faster, but the fact that they are the first line of defense makes no sence at all. Shields need to be proportional to armor. All caldari dropsuit shields should be the same amount as gallente armor. Extenders also need a buff.

I don't really see the issue with Ferros. They still offer more HP than their shield counterparts and have no downsides (Whereas shield extenders have the delay penalty).

I'm Amarrian I almost entirely used Ferro's for that speed. Dat sweet sweet speed!
I was able to run faster than most suits, for longer, scan them down, and lay waste to them at medium ranges.

No. I think it is unnecessary given the benefit that Ferroscales have over equivalent shield extenders.

I would like regular plates to give me 2000 armour and no speed penalty. But you see the problem here?
What you're asking is the same thing, but on a less 'in your face' scale. |

No we would not.
1. Everyone already uses Ferroscale. It's most likely the most commonly used armor plate for armor tanking 2. Dampening already outstrips precision. As anyone will tell ya, it's hard being able to afford a precision mod and having it be worth it -- much less RANGE. Dampening needs no buffing. 3: What is wrong with the ferroscale that it needs buffing? Is it your implied argument that it's not worth it because it is slightly more than half the HP value of regular plates? Did you NOT include the 5% speed that you aren't losing? Or how about the fact it has lower PG CPU? Ignored context = fail argument and personal bias. 4: Scouts can run ferroscale without a speed penalty -- the double penalty to speed on scouts only applies to regular plates. |

I'm going to say I would object to this.
Ferroscales still give more HP than extenders and have no movement penalty. They also cost less PG/CPU than reactives if I recall.
Right now shields need a little love before we seriously consider adding more benefit to armor tanking.
I also think making it easier for gal/calscouts to HP up and still be invisible is bad for balance.

We all read it. What you mean to say is, you are surprised that no one agrees with you. You currently think that maybe the reason we don't agree with your opinion is that we don't understand it. As opposed to it possibly being a bad idea. |

Did read it. Don't understand why we need this? Not like they are under powered in any way shape or form.
