As a vet, you get less SP per sec in battle now and more SP per WP, with the reverse for non-vets. This is actually proving much better for me in games where I don't do very well (under 1K WP), but this may be because I help the team in varying ways throughout each battle. And when I do well? Even better! I get SP amounts equal to what I'd get for exceptional performances before warlords. If I AKF? Not much over 500 SP. This is one thing they have done very well! I have yet to try out a noob account to see how it is for them but from a vet's perspective it's a good change. *claps* You're a gentleman and a scholar! I see your perspective but maybe rather than a hard cap at 150wp we still award 300sp or something for our friends who also play this game differently than you.
I was waiting for a reply as to how much his lifetime SP is, because the WP minimum is for vets.
I want to make sure CCP have set the "vet" SP high enough (character age is not a good idea), which, given the current weekly cap, needs to be really high now - noobs could have like 15-20mil!

Might have been good to open with "Hey, my hand is jacked up because of palsy and its hard for me to play! What can I do to get more than 150wp so I can gain skill points?"
Would have gotten you a different reaction and a different thread.....intelligence, use it. why should it matter? its not stopped me from playing and progressing in other games and it hasn't done so in dust up until tuesday i know how to get warpoints. ive been a logistics player since i signed up. my issue is that since the patch tuesday if i have a string of bad games i dont earn skillpoints Yeah? Well now it has because AFK'ers ruin this game because they sit in the MCC with a rubber band on their controller. You can thank them for your frustration. Why should it matter? What do you mean why should it matter? I'm disabled vs I'm a f!cking moron will garner you different results...its called the english f!cking language, learn about it.
i think he/she means why should they mention they're disabled, can we not just accept some players might not be all powerful die hard gamers with no life sat in their moms basement?
sure AFK'ers have brought it on but i know a couple of 50m sp guys who got stomped earlier and didn't earn any SP just because some tryhards on the other side need to over compensate for havign a small winky. the OP doesn't seem too much of a moron, from readign the posts he/she has experience as a logi but like the rest of us comes up against proto stompers and is disgruntled they no longer get SP when they have a s**t game.
the minimum WP thing is just a lazy attempt to curb AFK'ers when CCP shoudl perhaps be lookign at why peopel would rather AFK than play the game. from most posts on the forums the main cause is proto stomping forces makes pepel rathe rjust sit int he MCC than play because the game becomes dull to play when you die 30 times a match. i've still seen AFK'ers so its done jack s**t to stop it and just punishes players that have bad games due to CCPs own inability to code a game properly

whats point of playing now? I have a few questions for you. 3. Are you really that bad? Here are pointers for earning SP. - Hack objectives and installations. - Drop equipment (nanohives, uplinks). - revive and rep team-mates. - Shoot at opponents (you're bound to get some kills and assists). - Try destroying vehicles and installations. yes i am haha i use a logistics because im not a very good first person shooter player so i use a medic to still contribute. i have some good games were i can get 2000 warpoints if i repair a good heavy suit but then there are times when i play with small squad or solo and i constantly die when i try to repair or place uplinks and ammo. before if i did badly i would still get skillpoints but more and more i face teams that kill al our teams clones in less than 5 minutes of the ambush timer Dont play ambush unless your in a squad, skirm is better for solo, get an lav, hack three insallations or kill 1 tank. Youll be golden
Every commando k.o, every weapon at adv or above. Don't give a damn bout my kdr, I will kill you.

Seems like a troll post made by an afklord. im not only one getting low warpoints. several of the matches people from 8-10 place on leaderboards had less than 100-200 warpoints. game lasts around 5minutes and team clones are depleted Don't play ambush then. There are two other game modes, use them.

Cheap logi fit for ambush:
Standar min logi with 2 basic shield extenders 1 basic plate 1 basic rep armor, six kin rep tool, advanced uplink and basic injector once you start battle drop the uplink and aim your rep tool, every time you die deploy and repeat the process, drop uplink and aim rep tool and if can can revive some mercs.

Less than 150 warpoints is REALLY bad. Seriously, I get that at the beginning of matches by hacking installations, even if it's a match where I get stomped. |

to clear up why im a bad player. i have limited dexterity in my left hand due to a procedure when i was younger which resulted in me having a slight palsy in my left hand and face. telling me to 'get better' is something im not fully in control of. the reason i liked the concept of dust is purely because of the repair tool and the prospects that i didnt have to be as accurate or manouverable as in many games and could follow a heavy suit around with the repair tool and despite not being a brilliant player i could still contribute in my limited capabilities. does it suck? yes of course it does but i have managed so far but with the new update, when i have bad games im severely punished now by not receiving any skillpoints. in other games i may be limited in my actions but im also not held back because of how my restrictions limit me
Simply put, that tactic is not going to work. The first thing a smarter player will go for is the logi when they see a logi and a heavy. Also, maneuverability is key, that or stealth. Accuracy.. you'll need that too. But it's okay, because aiming is done with the Right analog stick! |

As a disclaimer I didn't mean 'get better' to be derogatory, I meant it as a 'be a better player, stop hurling yourself at the wall placed in your path, use your brain for a second and walk around the damn wall'.
I am sorry to hear that you have a physical disadvantage. If you're invested in fps games and have a computer I'd recommend MechWarrior online, they even allow macro'd controllers and keyboards it might be more to your pace.

Take this as a suggestion: Get better (use uplinks, injectors, repair tools, use a dropship or lav with a mobile cru in it, mass fire on enemies with something that you don't need to aim well like a mass driver).
If you're getting below 150wp's you are not carrying your own weight, speaking as someone who regularly feels like I have to drag my team kicking and screaming to victory it ****ing sucks to have people who don't contribute as teammates.
Here's a question: What are you doing in a match that you are consistently ending it with less than 150wp? Start a new character and show us how much ass you are kicking. Mina would be earning thousands of sp per match right from the start with a brand new toon.
Players can even adopt a low risk playstyle and earn thousands of sp per match.
First pro hint: put down uplinks second pro hint: spawn away from the enemy third pro hint: try to stay out of sight fourth pro hint: don't run in straight lines, run like a drunk fifth pro hint: only engage the enemy when they're already engaged with somebody else sixth pro hint: run away whenever you see more than one enemy coming seventh pro hint: never stand still, even when you're not going anywhere dance around like a merc who really needs a pee.
Those behaviors will pretty much guarantee you 1000 sp a match.

I cant seriously believe people are defending this 'new mechanic' if it really is punishing newer / bad players with pitiful payouts.
This will be the absolute nail in the coffin if this is how things are for the more casual players. Not only that, even reasonable players will be tested when the non existent 'match making' puts your scrub squad up against a team of co-ordinated proto squads.

It is unfairly weighed to favor the logi, because an average "slayer" with only a few kills will receive a tiny ISK/SP payout. SP payout for 20+ kills is pretty decent. If that's the case all I would say I pike ius it may benefit new players. |
