I do not mind the cooking of grenades, it is a common feature in many games. Whats is needed is some form of indicator showing the grenade. I get killed so many times by invisible core nades that I have no idea where they came from

True, but cooking grenades is OP if you think about it. A core locus grenade can do 700+damage in an instant. You ever have that moment where you have a guy beat 100% and you turn a corner and you have full HP and he has like 2 hp and boom a grenade blows up in your face and a Proto bag of sh*t gets away??

Yup, it has happened many times. But as much as I dislike being killed by grenade spamming people ie davidcollins, I cannnot think of a logical reason as to why grenades should not be allowed to be cooked

Because it has no indicator- because it does massive damage without warning-because every scrub in the history of dust abuses the cooking.

Isn it the same with forge guns or plasma cannons? I mean, the part where they can kill you in one instant and there is no indicator. Same with snipers (a good one who aims to the head). I hate to die because of grenades, but well... its just another weapon... The bolt pistol... thats another story, but then again... |

Grenade fuse is so long that without cooking a sentinel can trivially waddle out of the blast radius.
Hell no. You want to make a weapon with borderline utility worthless.

The fuses are way too long to remove cooking. If I couldn't throw a locus grenade, die, respawn, and then see my own grenade explode (basically), then you might have a case, but until the fuses are shortened to 3 seconds or less, no. |

You can hear a loud beep when someone begins cooking a grenade (theoretically, assuming dust's sound channels arent bugging out as they sometimes do).
Personally I dont have a problem with cooked grenades, it takes alot of timing/skill (compared to other stuff in the game anyway) to get a grenade off just right to hit someone for sure, and it is a big risk to put down your weapon for ~2-3 seconds to cook it up right. |

There has been many a time where cooking a grenade has saved my clone; such as being able to take a wounded Proto suit hiding in cover by cooking and throwing a Militia Locus Grenade.
Being able to cook a grenade gives me options that have allowed me to punch above my weight during engagements and taking down Proto fits with lower tier weapons and gear. Removing the ability to cook Locus Grenades would just remove their viability since their current fuse (I believe it's around 4 seconds) is it too long to kill with.

Cooking grenades has been a staple in many games for quite some time.
Considering how week most grenades are in game, I really think you are seeing a problem where there isn't one.
Being frustrated by a kill does not mean something is a problem.
I run a 200 to 300 HP suit, and the last time I was killed by a grenade was many many months ago. I only remember because it was a notable event.

That would be funny but would not make sense in terms of logic. any company in new Eden would test fuses for the nades. Instead of nerfing gernades add a counter; explosive Resistance mod for suits. give 20 percent basic 40 percent proto with stacking penalties. So people that use tactics that get them grenaded a lot could put this on there suit. This would weaken them against most of the infantry weapons as a result because you can't put another armor player/shield extender on. That's a big trade off IMO.

Er...ok that's it. People say OP this and op that.pÇÇPeople keep throwing the word OP (overpowered as it is actually an acronym) without knowing what it actually means!
Over powered can mean:
1. To be uncounterable. 2. To affect so strongly as to make helpless or ineffective; overwhelm. 3. To supply with excessive mechanical power. 4. To be the superior choice in the vast majority of situations. 5. To provide great return for very little work and or skill. 6. To have more strength, force, or effect than (someone or something)
That's 6 distinct definitions there -- none of which have anything to do with the OP or rationale. Saying 'cooking grenades is OP' is akin to saying 'Crouching is OP.' Or 'reloading is OP.'
Edit before any nitpicking occurs:

Nothing needs changing. Cooking grenades takes skill, cannot be done constantly, removes the ability to shoot/reload/jump/sprint/throwequipment/DO ANYTHING while cooking, carries the risk of killing the user and or friendlies depending on game mode, and is avoidable! |

I dunno, New Eden and all companies within are made by CCP, it's logical that everything is bugged to hell and not well tested, lol.

Surely it could be 'overpowered' as it affects hp in such a way that it overwhelms, makes helpless & leaves it very ineffective.

Everything takes 'skill' however the level of skill required for 'cooking a grenade' is akin to that of counting to 3.
Just another thought, to make it less of an easy mode, could increase the timer so it isn't such a good idea to stop firing and throw one at someone, you might need to be behind cover if you want to insta-pop someone with it. |
