I bought the APEX hawk scout for its flavor and not because it is good at getting warpoints,
It has a rail rifle, a bolt pistol a cloak and an active scanner, It is hard to earn warpoints with it.
Apparently CCP thinks players with a lot of SP that don't get enough warpoints should not get any SP
I don't think they want to punish me for buying their products so what is the explanation
Do they think the Apex hawk scout is good at getting warpoints?
I find it much easier to get warpoints with the other APEX scouts.

If so then what's the problem?
It will help to reduce afking [for new players too].
Also veterans should help their ******** team. And everybody will get enough wp to earn sp.

APEX are supposedly meant for new players anyways. Since you have more points due to being a vet, surely you could not only run better gear, but AFFORD to run better gear. Well, this is how it's supposed to be, anyways. |

I thought it was OK to goof off in public contracts, If goofing off is not not OK then why make the Hawk scout?

Your passive SP is always growing.
You can still play even if you don't make the WP quota for SP rewards.
Which flavor is the hawk scout? Strawberry? Banana? Chocolate? Marshmallow? You've piqued my interest. I'm actually considering getting one now.
Uh, do you have to use that flavor for the entire match, or can you use a dropsuit more conducive to achieving WP for part of the match? |

I am quite bad at FPS so the only way I would make quota is be a logi first I suppose that is not the end of the world
As for the flavor, I think it is really better if you try it, I try and use it's scanner massive passive scan radius to actually scout for things , I make it harder for the enemy to catch other team members unaware.
It is a big investment so get a protoscout and fit it with proto range amps first , then give it the same gear. |

Edit , I just played 2 games with it again, You try and put your self about 40 meters from your main group and cover a blind spot,
You take pot shots at the enemy, and duck and hide you don't have the hit points for gun battles
, The tracers make the other blues aware of where some reds are, And if you see a tank or heavies scan them
You have two long range weapons at your disposal. If you stay outside of your enemy's weapon range, then you can take a few hits even though the Hawk doesn't have many hitpoints.
Have you tried these tactics for raking in more WP:
1. Play the Hawk as a Hawk: Perch and use your keen senses to discover your prey. Use your scout's natural jump abilities and cloak field to sneak up into high positions, running up slanted support structures to get on top of kettles (water towers). From there you can easily control your cover and shoot down at distant enemies.
2. Use your active scanner to discover equipment and use your cloak to sneak in and destroy it.
3. Use your active scanner, passive scans and cloak to sneak in and hack installations. I wouldn't hack letter objectives with a Hawk since you have a locus grenade, as opposed to a flux. Only fluxes can clear out all of the REs on an objective with some degree of certainty. Also, the Hawk doesn't have REs to rig an objective, so it's not good at anything relating to letter objectives.
4. Use the bolt pistol to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies who are standing still and aim down sight to get a headshot and drop them in 1 or 2 rounds. Use the damage indicator at the bottom of the screen to maximize the % damage.
5. Use wide open areas to maximize the effectiveness of your rail rifle.

I tear through the flanks of unsuspecting reds in my hawk scout . If you max all the skills associated with the suit then it's gracefully quite good for pubs and fw .

Protip : you have to LEAVE the MCC to get WP usually. Everytime I see you in match, you are sitting in the MCC and at the bottom of the list with 0/0 and 0.

You think you got problems, try being a bug hunter. We won't even get baseline SP rewards at all for issue testing come Tuesday.

If you followed the discussion with CCP Rattati earlier, it was meant to punish AFK players who just sit at the MCC all match and do nothing. The minimum warpoint requirement ensures that you must at least put some effort for the team if you want your SP. CCP never intended to punish veterans so don't assume that this is aimed at veterans only. It's aimed at countering AFKers and I find this to be fair and I'm a veteran.

Last I checked they have yet to release what the minimum is, so it seems a bit premature to argue about it until it drops.

I see no reason to complain as long as the WP limits are reasonable. If I end up having a dull match and only score like 600 WP and discover that the minimum threshold is above that, I'll be annoyed though.

Yeah but the entire playerbase is too worried about loosing ISK because payouts are **** and there's no ISK to be made in PC apart from farming the cargo hubs of bad players.

What if the threshold is (even lower) 400 WP? And what if you are a playing a fire support role defending a point knocking down shields with a shield kill gun while your buddy has a Mass driver for the kill.
Teamwork, tactics, team support. Unselfish game play. Seems like you should be rewarded for that.
Now imagine - only 12 guys rushed ya but the SL (or Team Leader if y'all are very organized) ordered you and your buddy to defend that 1 point so the rest of the team could hit other objectives with superior numbers.
There is already a huge gap between differing roles on the battlefield. Let's widen it even further in an attempt to combat AFK players.
(ProTip: Fit a BPO suit with good uplinks. Sneak somewhere. Drop uplinks. Suicide. Put two rubber bands on your controller. Go screw your girl while your clone runs circles in the MCC. Come back to 5k+sp and 350k+ ISK. AFK problem solved....  )
I do not support minimum WP thresholds alone. |
