but instead of repping shields, it works like an active hardener with a small bonus to armor reps at around, say 30 hp/s.
Imagine a Logi with said tool on a CalSent, effectively reducing damage dealt to him by 50 or so percent. The CalSent might actually have a chance to take on an Amarr Sent + MinLogi combo. |

Terrible idea.
Let's pretend you were joking.
The winner of this war will not prove who's right; only, who's left.

I know that this keeps coming up for discussion but that example sounds kinda OP .
I would create a rep tool like a AXIS that's for vehicles but instead reps shields , that would solve a lot of problems but as long as it only has ONE stream and not dual , I think that it should be done but not to the point that it would create more to complain about like most in the forums do .
I'm all about the well being of this game and although it would be nice it might just disrupt the already fragile environment .
I'm for it though if done right and as long as it's not dual stream .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

I dont understand why this is such a controversial subject. The fact still stands that armor has more base HP, more damage, and 125hp/s IN combat rep tools.
Doesnt matter how fast your shields regenerate if you cant stay around enough to kill anyone, and it especially doesnt matter if youre already dead. |

Doesnt matter how fast your shields regenerate if you cant stay around enough to kill anyone, and it especially doesnt matter if youre already dead. That 125hp/s comes at the price of a perfectly good rifle firing back at you with 4x the potential DPS. Also, if that armor has more HP, it's moving slower (especially strafing) and probably regenerates slower on its own.

I don't see why this isn't a thing. The new Eden tech is perfectly capable of making a shield rep-tool (Come on, Remote Shield Boosters anyone?) Repping won't be balanced until this exists. Though people will still stick to armor reps, they always will, but this time because shields just don't have enough eHP.

Shield tool: temp hardener [pulse like militia hardeners] (10-25%) + regulate (10-15% boost). Armor tool: good as is.
A hybrid tool?

I would be best if it was set no higher than 10% that should have two lines only (even at proto) but one in Militia. and a 5% Base Shield increase at proto(Base- 1% ADV-3% PRO-5%)

So how about the rep tool we have works with shield.
When reptool is activated and is healing shield it won't heal armor until shield is at 100%? Shield reps fast anyway so it help it along. But shield delay can't be effected. That would kill regulators.
Might just be to complicated. My 2 isk |

I think a neat little stepping stone would be to add a minor 10hp shield repair rate to current rep tools, to provide a small boost to slow-recharging shields (amarr suits) between fights, and allowing the logi to kick-start shield regeneration on mercs in cover by giving them enough to bypass the depleted shield recharge delay |
