The playerbase has rubbed off on me. If I'm not in a squad I couldnt give two fucks if we win. This is an incentive problem. I think the equipment stuff is in a good place. Joining pubs is a lottery of randoms, sometimes you get a mix of randoms that adds up to somewhat of a contribution and sometimes you end up with 5 tanks on a city map.
its not solo players the problem, or even bandwidth to a certain extent. Its matchmaking. Theres alot of matches where the system puts me, solo logi, into a group with 15 people that seem right out of the academy, and then were up against a proto squad.
If we were up against another team of casuals, bandwidth wouldn't matter because chances are they wouldn't be sending teams to aggressively hunt any uplink thats not in our redline. The bandwidth system can compete with limited and role base deployment, but it cant compete with teams hellbent on redlining the lesser team.
Also, dont forget, public is supposed to be the most casual mode. If you tell me i need a squad in FW or planetary, you are probably right. But in public matches, its not fun to give 100% against people who stand no chance. Being in a squad to encourage that kind of behavior is even more disheartening. In public, its supposed to be fun to just run around try out a few new things. It takes away from the casual atmosphere to have someone in my ear saying "watch your back hostiles coming in from charlie".
Maybe you, you have fun by seeing the word "Victory" on your screen and by always trying to put up the best numbers no matter what. Good for you ,some people enjoy that. Me I enjoy the play by play. Each opponent fights differently, and thats the fun for me. Not having 5 friends gun him down while we were trying to have a melee fight. Thats where the most unique and entertaining things happen is when you are having a 1vs1 fight on the sidelines. Even if I lose that melee fight, i had alot more fun losing ti that getting killed by a Six Kin rifle from 50M away. |

I've seen you in the forefront of talking about " link spam " so I just knew that you would comment Thor .
Yeah I was expecting him to in this thread. Due to the fact that its a playstyle he is completely unfamiliar with, he will never acknowledge or accept that it is a valid style of playing the game.
However, just because he is rigid in his philosophy, it will not stop me from using his words or comments to make a point or to point out the folly of adhering rigidly to a philosophy.
An example of this is how he always talks about how being in a squad 24/7 encouraged him to keep playing, so all players should be auto squadded. My counter is that id rather have a squad where each player has a history of lone wolfing, cause its a good insurance policy if all members of the squad can operate autonomously if required. |

Don-Št be a loser dude and stay on topic. Leave your personal issues against someone behind. Everyone can have an opinion on how things should be.
His opinion is my choice (solo) shouldn't exist at all, and everyone should be auto squadded. It has nothing to do with anything personal against him. Infact, in topics other than this one, i find myself in agreement with alot of his posts. Its just I already know his opinion and vision on this because hes posted it many times.
And im allowed to attack opinions because that is the very nature of a debate, its the essence of an argument. Without attacking opinions, this forum is nothing more than a suggestion box. Im not saying hes not allowed to have an opinion, or that hes a bad person. I just very strongly disagree with his stance on squad play and solo play. |
