The more I think of this, the more I want it! Duels? No. I think it should continue to be who ever happens to get struck gets struck. You both see each other and try to feint until one of you messes up and gets hit. I don't think CCP needs to put any complicated mechanics in. Racial Nova Knives.

Without nerfing the nova knives, I'm not seeing how this could be viable, the knives can already one shot most suits.
Are we suggesting more range + more damage, giving the option of adding more hp modules or having enough damage modules to down a sentinel without a charge, isn't going to backfire somehow?
Also with more range, we're getting into the area of making the shotgun pretty useless. Though I would be amused to have a sword instead of a shogun on my commando, it would have to be better than a knife somehow.
Think of it like this
Which would you rather see coming to kill you?
A shotgun Scout/Assault/Heavy(Hate them so much)
Or a sword wielding Scout/Assault/Heavy
The sword I would pick.
I also think the sword shouldn't have a charge,you just swing it and it does 460 damage a swing
