What a useless weapon, can anyone explain to me why to use it over a rail or a sniper?
Even in it's optimal - you're going to just plain suck. The best you can hope for is to be suppressive - even then, once you get to armor you'll be snail crawling every kill.
RR is forgiving if you miss just hip fire and it'll spread your shots for people with poorer aim - if lazer is going to be pin point then it needs to reward you for it. RR isn't pin point and it does far more. It makes no sense that a weapon that is easier to use rewards you more for it.
Either push the optimal of the laser to 25-120m and leave it as is - or increase the DPS.

I proposed to make it a light anti shield av weapon for the amarr on trello.
I wouldn't mind it doing more close range damage since it's still hard to use at that range already.

No. Lasers are fine as they are, they're a niche weapon. Instead of reinventing the wheel and changing one of the three amarr weapons in the game that actually is somewhat distinct and has a flavor of its own instead of being a generic hitscan rifle, how about we instead actually work on getting a few more weapons for the amarr.
The fusion rifle from destiny makes an excellent model for a pulse laser weapon (be it a heavy weapon, a smg, or the amarr 'shotgun').

More range? I wouldn't complain. My only real problem with it is that ADS still feels glitchy, too frequently people will move through the beam multiple times without taking damage and it's even worse if I'm actively trying to track them.

This is a thing of beauty to say the least.
I think the LR is pretty close to being where it needs to be. The only thing that I might like to see with it is expand it's sweet spot by 10 meters on either side.

I ahev the mlt laser blueprint on a fckn gal assault of all things and with a single mlt light damge mod rips through any infantry it lands on.
don't get me started on my double cmplx vizam laser on my gal assault. that suit is juts bloody mean.
please note that the laser.....ACTUALLY REQUIRES YOU TO AIM AND KEEP IT ON THE TARGET. and is quite difficult to use. which makes it powerful/fun to use.

the laser is much better for me personaly than the rr. did I mention its ridiculsy accurate hip-fire being pin point? all it takes is heat/ammo management and if you persit in its use can be a mean QCQ weapon........fun fact the laser rifle dosnt have an effective range. just an optimal.

seriously its only bad if youre not an amarr assault, same as the scrambler rifle, though it is interesting that the amarr assault is the only suit in the game that changes a weapon from complete **** to borderline OP, none of the other assault bonuses do this for their racial weapons, cal get reload spead? cool but it doesnt help because by the time you finish your clip everyone is dead,
minmatar with extra ammo? most people switch to their sidearm before main clip runs out anyway, gallente assault? I dont think I even notice that bonus seeing as everyone has been using it for almost 3 years.
And then the amarr assault can fire the viktors without overheating- what? |

Rail rifle kicks like a mule and the arr is **** ads. The sniper rifle will get you killed fighting at that range with its long sway time. All in all I would rather use a scrambler rifle as shooting next to them for the first 30 rounds in the clip for heat to build up just feels weird to me.
