I'm not really sure why the Atlas uses a forge.
The forge gun is a Caldari weapon. The Atlas is a Gallente heavy. Caldari and Gallente are mortal foes. APEX is meant to be racially appropriate. This is not racially appropriate.
It makes far more sense for the Gallente to use a Minmatar item, seeing as they are close allies rather than mortal foes.

Rattati mentioned that they are looking into making the suits modifiable with limited CPU and PG, so that would largely solve the issue.

Who asked for this, specifically? o_O
Some of the APEX fits have some really weird things going on. Why is there a range amplifier on the Rasetsu? It gives literally 1m more long scan range, is that really a good use of a slot? The dampener on the spartan is distinctly odd as well. The amplifier is slightly more reasonable on the Amarr scout, but it's still a terrible module - a 5% increase is simply not worth fitting.
All of this and more would be solved if we could tweak the APEX fits even slightly. It would be ludicrously OP to allow full fitting of course, but if you could tweak little things like the variant of weapon you're using I imagine APEX would be more desirable.

I completely respect what u said, but some of them doesn't look like they were think by veterans. And the main issue is that we all want another thing or things in those fittings... I'm not saying they sux or anything but that is what many think " i would put x thing instead of z thing"

Yeah at first I was hoping that they would use "lore" for things needed for fittings. Since the Amarr-Caldari and Gallente-Minmatar are somewhat allied, I figured they would source from eachother. It would be one of the tangible benefits of that alliance that us Dust players could reach out and touch.
Imagine if the Gal scout had Republic remote mines or like you said, Gal has the republic HMG and such. Empires helping eachother with their own supply line shortfalls in the stocking of Apex fits. |

Gallente and Caldari use Hybrid weapons, hence Forge gun.
Amarr and Minmatar are in close proximity and share the same weapon tech due to minmatar slaves sticking with the Amarr, hence HMG.

Each alliance needs a heavy with an Hmg and a heavy with a forge. Hmg is min tech so obviously the min heavy gets it which means that the other heavy in the alliance needs to wield the heavy AV weapon.
I thought this was obvious and logical...

None of the fits should be using an AV weapon, they are intended to be an entry level blueprint suit that you can actually fight in and take some deaths in without breaking the bank. AV stinks overall, and even if you disagree with that Im pretty sure almost everyone agrees that basic/militia AV sucks so hard its almost useless. Any APEX fit with an AV focus needs to be reworked so that its useful in a more general context, in other words: you need an HMG on heavy suits.
The only AV that we should be seeing on these is the plasma cannon. |

More likely to use a Railgun given the weapon is originally gallente tech and uses already developed hybrid charges over an inferior projectile weapon.

Caldari and gallente are in a war not mortal foes in fact it is a much like the American civil the caldari tried to leave they got into an argument and boom. Caldari companies sell their weapons to the minmattar. So the reason the gallente got that forge because of that alliance that way both sides have a forge.
Pro Caldari assault and sentinel.

Can't understand all this "racial purity" or "racial parity" nonsense.
Not every country/faction/corporation produces tools for every situation. Thinking about factions armies - why would they not use a well designed specialist weapon when they have the need? You see, the weps aren't exclusive to factions.
The current conflict between factions hasn't lasted for nonstop for eternity. There have been opportunities for factional armies' doctrines and tools to mix.
If looking at system stats of New Eden, there ARE many corporations operating in every factions space. Including those corps founded in opposing factions space. EVEN ones closely tied to the gov's. For example, Oppold IX - Moon 19 - Imperial Armaments Factory ( Amarr Industrial Station ) in Minmatar space Amarr VIII (Oris) - Moon 4 - Expert Distribution Retail Center ( Caldari Trading Station ) in Amarr home system(!) Mabnen VIII - Moon 2 - The Scope Development Studio ( Gallente Military Station ) in Amarr Space
One argument stands though: it would not make sense for a factional army to use tools from opposing loyalty store.
But all of those are mostly about factional armies. Clone militias are more mixed. And more importantly: All dust players are mercenaries. Mercs tend to fight for profit, mercs tend to use any tools that best suit them.
TLDR: I don't appreciate lore that much. But trying to force everything under same mold because of lore makes no sense; not even lore supports that.

So the APEX suit is the pre made fit sold by CCP on the market right? It may not be my place to say but if you don't like it train your skills and fit the appropriate suit and mods, don't complain its not the right one, there are only 2 types of heavy weapons, both are good depending on you're terrain and opposition so to say one is wrong, well strikes me as odd. What is odd is that we have no racial heavy weapons for the amarr or gallente.

If the only benefit these APEX suits have is ease of purchase for use then I will tell you what I do when I derp and run out of suits. I go to my fit screen and restock the fit I want, at one nice convenient price, the Apex suits are restock-able in the same way and seem more like a derp suit (yes I run heavy too) than something useful.
Quote:CCP this is Vetran advice, take note, get better at fitting. The suit sucks and I don't like it.
Specializing is what makes a suit strong, not having 1 more meter of scan range. As a damage dealer heavy a damage mod is preferred or more tank or both plus regenerative abilities for when there are no Logibros like myself around to use their boundless wp building tools to repair the heavy suits.
