Since an RDV can drop a vehicle off anywhere on the map, can we add the functionality to call in vehicles from the spawn screen (and spawn in them)
Rooftops would obviously have to be excluded
it could also help to comeback from being redlined |

No.
Killing the spawner before he gets in is so fun.
Life has no "real" meaning. We are just dust particles in an endless world we call space.
Just have fun while you live.

Wouldn't people just use cheap LAVs to spawn anywhere they wanted, and severely devalue holding CRUs, uplinks, ect?
Spawning in a vehicle near where you normally spawn in the redline? Sure, that's be cool. But doing it basically anywhere on the map? No.

Although, I'd like it if I could start off flying in my HAV at the start of the match. That would save a bit of time, and I like efficient way of life, as I have said many times.

it'd still get delivered so you could kill them before they land!
with the presence of BPO LAVs it may mean that people use them as mobile spawn pads, but calling in a vehicle is pretty noticeable so you would be taking a risk if it was an unsecured site |

Actually, you cannot spawn vehicles anywhere on the ground now as vehicles cannot be called from the in-between areas between the newest modules and the land areas outside of them.
BTW, I think there should be specialized DSs or DS modules where DSs can lift LAVs; friendly and enemy alike. I bet you'd see alot more turrets on LAVs if this was done. Oh yeah. And this would also allow a LAV to be moved anywhere like the thread author requested.

Hello there, Juno. And good post. It shows you are thinking strategically (and honestly, even many Proto-vets have trouble thinking strategically in Dust matches). Although RDV deliveries can't really be placed "anywhere" on the map (GǪthere is actually a whole Dust strategy-chapter that can be discussed about "the do's and don'ts of good RDV calls"), and am one of the players who was always interested in keeping a heavy amount of DIFFICULTY in calling down vehicles. There was a time when we were even requesting that the "ETA" of your drop be INCREASED as your location gets further away from the friendly MCC (deeper in enemy territory), and that the blues nearest the MCC should be the only ones who get instant drop service in 3 seconds or less.
Calling in the "right" vehicle at the right time will turn a "slaughter by the reds at Objective C" into "an heroic blue stand and match-win at Charlie-point". Just like running to a supply depot and changing into the right AV suit can turn the entire fire-fight around. So, like the Supply Depot's scarce distribution around the map adds a healthy amount of DIFFICULTY for changing into an AV suit, the RDV should also be kept difficult and risky---not be made TOO easy for players to initiate.
I like that the darn thing takes so long to float in and drop your vehicle to you. I like that the enemy can see is like a blimp from the other end of the map, and (if she's smart) knows you're probably about to try some sort of vehicle incursion into the fight. I also like that hasty and reckless RDV calls can still cause your buddies to their lives in crashes, or leave your vehicle hung up because the Balos got confused by your chosen location. RDVs ought to stay somewhat challenging.
But even though I'm against your idea, like I said, it 's a good strategic idea. Kudos.

Just wondering, but how would you feel if people could snipe into the spawn and kill your suit as you were spawning, even at the start of the match?

I like the idea of being able to pick a point on the overview map to drop your vehicles off at, but I don't think you should be able to spawn directly into the vehicle when you deploy it.
PSA: Tell players to terminate in order to access mCRUs.
