one great skill they are the masters of the light weapons. that's about the only good thing they got going for themselves, there regeneration is awful they are slow with big fat hit boxs. It would be nice to at least have a slot buff to help the commando become more solo instead of relying on a logi to be near by. Can I get a hell ya??

It could work
But generally no, their purpose is to spew dmg You want solo survivability id take an assault
Or fit for It Calmando with a regulator and energizer is a good fit if u got the skills
An extra slot would make it more a super assault
Though a stamina buff isn't a terribad idea My thoughts
I run Calmando with very high skills

I've got proto minmando, proto MD's, swarms and CR.
I never use the proto suit as it costs too much and sods law I always die imediately in it to some douche scout with a shotgun/RE's or a team of heavies, but the skills really help the basic and advanced suits shine, the CR melts armour and the MD is great at covering/indirect fire. and then swarms are obviously great at deterring vehicles.
I do miss grenades but I can live without em, and I have around 300 shields and 400 armour with decent reps and recharge, I'd say help the scan profile maybe as it's currently as bad as other heavies, but other than that, I like it as it is.
Part time Logi,
Full time heavy.

out side the box idea hear. have a hp and ewar progression from standard to adv to proto. at standard its pretty balanced but a proto commando is worse than a assault in every way so a little more hp and ewar at adv and proto. |

Commandoes need to go away. They are the redheaded stepchild. A bad idea that doesn't bring anything but more scrubby tactics to the game that would be better served forcing ppl to man up in a medium suit. The commando should have been a light suit with guns akimbo.

Especially as assaults have been buffed with slots and HP, the commando doesn't really feel like a step up from medium frame to heavy frame anymore. That's probably where I'd focus. The ewar is pretty terrible but they can scan sentinels so ok.
I would say one big thing is we need light AV in the form of lasers and rails to balance out their versatility.

Your in my corp but
**** YOU. My squad in YAMAH will put up a fight. And my suit of choice is the commando. They are an absolutely unique suit that can be built to have no more than two seconds of downtown between firefights with support. They can out dps anything in a sustained firefight besides a ******* tank.

Fixed shield recharge / shield delays / stamina. Maybe an extra high for amarr, gal & min, extra low for cal (these should fly in the face of slot layouts 3h/2l for cal & min 2h/3l for am & gal). Re-adjusted ewar. Little bit more pg/CPU for the extra slots. They'll be in a terrifyingly good spot after that.

I wouldnt say they need a buff as a whole but certain racial suits/weapons need looked at. The difference between an advanced suit and weapons vs proto suit and weapons is definitely not worth the cost between the two. Very minor dps/ehp increase between two. On the other hand you risk making the Proto suits OP by going too far.

What if commandos got a slight bonus to the inherent regen and tank of their suit ?They would be the kings of suppression by having decent hp and regen with good dps and little downtime. They would still be very vulnerable to high alpha such as hmg, sniper, and shotguns. They would not have the mobility of assaults, hp of sentinels, or regen of scouts but they would be somewhere in between. The proposed skill bonus would be similar to sentinels, but geared toward the conventional regen / tank of said race.
For example. Amarr-plus 3% to armor and 2% armor repair Gallente-plus 3% to armor repair and 2% to armor Caldari- plus 3% shield regen and 2% delay reduction And vice versa
From my experience , I feel the slight bonuses would help promote the suppressive fighter playstyle that is the commando. Although this may not seem underwhelming , if the suits are used with these bonuses in mind, a commando can become a much better flanker and general fire support without the need to hide for long times if used in conjunction with the modules best suited for said race.
Since commandos aren't as armored as heavies, or as versatile as assaults with all their modules, or as fast and ewar capable as scouts I think regen seems to be a good niche for commandos. Not ewar or speed or tank. Just regen.
While slow to anger and occasionally indecisive, they are also capable of harnessing enormous resolve when truly tested.

be nice if they received an Ammo carried bonus to their racial wepaons ontop of the damage bonus to make them more independant i'd also preffer to go back to a similar system as to when they were first released but keep a uniform slot layout (H/L/E)
STD - 0/0/0 ADV - 1/1/1 PRO - 2/2/2
slightly alter racial shield/armour to compensate so lower base caldari armour but raise shields a small amount and by adding the extra equipment slot at proto level encourages more use of higher tiers and makes them more versatile. the minmando coud become the AV suit it always dreamed of with prox mines and a hive, caldari snipers have the extra ammo and a scanner, gallente has two hives to ensure it actually has enough rounds to shoot the BAR or PLC's ect all hopes and dreams of course but hey ho
Never argue with an idiot. they bring you down to their level and beat you through experience

Agree, and it just goes to highlight something we need to think about when talking about commandos: due to the weapons they are encouraged to equip, each commando tends to play quite a bit different from the others and have very different play style options. |
