I (think I) figured out why when you shoot a missile launcher while in a moving LAV, it rarely goes where you shoot it. It seems at the LAV sort of points to where the missile goes, depending on the LAV turning. For example, if an LAV turns slightly right when you shoot the missile, the missile will go off at the angle that the LAV was at. I came across this while I was replaying some footage of me playing. A guy stole my LAV, but invited me to ride as the gunner, and we got into an LAV chase where I shot numerous times, enough to come to this conclusion. I may post the video if anyone is interested.

That is interesting actually, I don't ride LAVs often enough to notice but I wonder if it's related to small turrets on DS's not turning with the vehicle.
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.

I fired a missile from a moving lav for the first time the other day. The target was dead ahead, and we were driving at top speed. Apparently lavs move faster than missles. |

After thinking it through a bit more, don't turrets have to actually turn in DUST? I feel like the problem as of now is one of a visual disparity between where the turret actually is and where your camera is pointing. I feel this is the problem because as of now turrets turn very quickly on LAVs, while not so much on tanks. Also, on drop ships, if the drop ship turns, your turret follows, which is not the case on LAVs. When the driver turns an LAV, your camera keeps pointing at where you where always pointing, meaning that the actual turret entity may not have caught up with your visual, making it shoot inaccurately. Testing will have to be done.

I just assumed everyone who notice the problem would nullify it by accounting for the turn of the vehicle or if in a squad tell the driver to stop acting like he has Parkinson disease.
