I think that the ratio that they are droped should be backwards. I get that the descriptions says that the key is the rare one and its used to lock them but it should be the salvage it self that should be rare. I have 50 boxes in which 2 have been opened (52)
2 keys should be 50 keys. 50 boxes should become 2. After all, it's the salvage tha rate isn't it?
How to fix- add more officer stuff (I got 7 mk assaults, something I could have bought my self)
For a limited time, increase the amount of keys given and set boxes to ZERO. Maybe for like a week. I say this because I've only played dust for about 6 days in which 4 days that included about 5 matches gave me a total of 50 boxes. Over the whole course, I got 2 keys.
After the week or so is over, set the boxes to a VERY rare drop rate. As much has the key is currently.
Finally, give the drop rate of boxes to the keys and reduse it by half

I guess, but even still, there are to few keys to boxes.
There has to be a way to make it better

So far I have not gotten a single key from salvage.
As of now my Key to box ratio is 176:0
GG CCP.
CCP holds the Caldari's hand so this doesn't happen again.

It's fine that the keys are rarer than the boxes, since they're not the actual keys to the boxes, but a hacked copy.
That said, the drop rate is absurd. I don't mind the boxes being extremely common, but they're entirely too common for the rarity of the keys. As it stands, I have 193 boxes and never gotten a single key. If I were just to pull a number out of nowhere, I think for something like this, 10:1 boxes:keys would be far more reasonable than the current ~200:1. If I were wondering what to spend AUR on, I wouldn't even consider opening a strongbox, because I don't know anything about the possible contents. |

That's another problem. I opened my 2 boxes only to find something that I can buy. Last time I remembered, salvage contained MOSTLY rare items/officer weapons.

Make strongboxes drop in lieu of officer weapons, and make keys even rarer.
Have boxes contain officer gear/bpos/etc.

It actually makes sense,getting boxes is easy while getting a hacking decoder would be hard to come around.
Thinlk of it like the keys are illegal and hard to transport.
Or The keys are spread out around the cosmos,hidden.

They must rethink the whole thing. Nobody's buying keys as the rewards are mostly ****, and we all have hundreds of boxes already..
Just had a 2 weeks break, and still, I have 250 boxes (only had 4 keys since the beggining).
A friend has 1100+ strongboxes. He'd have to pay more than 330Gé¼ to open its boxes. I'm not even sure that a week were keys have the same ratio as boxes would be enough... but it would be a start.
