Interesting. Though all of the scouts experienced a rise in use around the beginning of November, the mk.0 appears to be the only suit experiencing sustained usage while the rest experienced a decline between the beginning of November and now.

Probably just testing them out.
If that is the case, the Mk.0 seems to pass the test with flying colors. I can think of a few possibilities as to what's driving the sustainability of the Scout Mk.0.
It could be that it is technically the fastest scout suit in the game and that players like to get to the action as soon as possible and are probably not patient enough to wait for a vehicle to get called in to take them. Their speed is perfect for getting to objectives fast and getting out fast along with dodging most shots coming at them which makes up for the lack of EWAR. It might also be that they are the only suits that can enable a player to OHK a heavy suit with just nova knives but that would be highly unlikely given how difficult it is to wield the knives without dying too much.
I have been seeing a lot of Minscouts lately since last November. The funny thing is that these suits are nowhere near being OP. In fact, a lot of players regard the Minscouts as hard-mode suits that only dedicated players who enjoy a challenge would use. And with the lowest CPU/PG compared to other suits, I'm not really 100% sure what's causing this sustainability.

Cal/Gal assaulting/killing aspect fell down comparing to what it used to be. That's why Mk.0 is used more.
Also i'm not surprised with amarr scout. I known it won't be as popular as caldari when it comes to scanning.
That wouldn't really make sense for the Scout Mk.0 especially after the EWAR rebalancing. Minscouts have to fit more dampeners and possibly a cloak to get close enough without getting detected. They are essentially the squishiest suits to wear. Most militia-level weapons can overtake the Minscout no problem.

The Mk.0's sales rate going up could not only mean that it is getting more popular but also that it is being killed faster so people have to buy more of them more often.
I know that the scout scout I kill most is the Minmatar Scout and that a high rate of those kills are proto.
That's a good way to look at it. Didn't think of that. But then that only leads to more questions. Why are they continuously having to replenish it at this rate? Surely if a suit is not surviving as often as one would hope then most people would simply stop using that suit and use something else. Unless you're a masochist like me, using a suit that gets wrecked more often than most seems insane.

Smoky The Bear wrote:The dropoff after November is due to the RIDICULOUS cloak nerf.. that makes and already nerfed to the hilt class.. even less viable.. STUPID MOVE CCP..
That still doesn't explain how the Minscout is able to have a sustained use after November. If the cloak nerf is what's behind the decline, why isn't the Minscout following the same pattern?

They are like little versions of Wolverine. Going crazy and laughing like hyenas trying to cut you with their claws (knives). Whether they succeed or they die, they are always laughing. You can blast holes in them repeatedly, but they keep trying.
Minjas are crazy.
We like it rough.

THUNDERGROOVE wrote:OP is a dingus. Those charts are from the EVE client and are regional. Currently, there are 14 different regions that have DUST locals all with their own separate market data. Edit: Here is some real market data I pulled from CREST

Using evemaps.dotlan.net as a reference, these systems fall into the following regions.
Domain, Tash-Murkon, Kador, The Forge, The Citadel, Lonetrek, Sinq Laison, Placid, Everyshore, Metropolis, Heimatar, Derelik, Essence, and Devoid.
That is exactly 14 regions total. Yes, I checked every one of those systems in the list.
@THUNDERGROOVE
The link that you provided only gives us a total of the items sold during the past 6 months. It doesn't give us a clear enough picture like a graph does. Graphs are needed to show trends across all regions.

NextDark Knight wrote:I was about to ask if these graphs include the other region markets for the scouts. ^^
Unfortunately, the graphs posted by the OP are only covering one region. CCP, Chribba, and anyone who can put together excellent graphs using the CREST API would be the ones to be able to provide the proper graphs we're looking for.
