Pft. How is that Pay to win? So you get a few extra sp after buying some aurum. I'll say this once, loud and clear, so pay attention.

How is that p2w?
If you activate that booster will it bring you to a " YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY BEATEN DUST 514" screen?
Uhhhh, hey guess what? You don't have to activate booster and you still get to play game. Neat huh.
Go shoot people, its fun.

It's pay to win because you can't complete the mission unless you pay for it. That is the very definition of pay to win. |

I guess if you want to be all ocd about it, but that isn't really a mission and you dont win anything for completing it. Its a recent add on to the game to give you a stupid daily goal to work towards. The amount of sp you "win" by activating booster can be earned in your next battle by just spawning in.
Your not missing out on anything by not completing that particular mission. I promise you, Dust will still go on with or without activating that stupid booster.
Its not pay to win, unless you REALLY want to complete that particular mission. Then thats on you, but theres no special prize or leaderboard or anything to "WIN" by doing anything other than helping your team achieve that "VICTORY" screen. |

Completing that mission nets you nothing useful anyway. All my savant missions have been rewarding me with 1-Day Passive boosters, plus you only have to do three to get the Bonus reward. It's most certainly not p2w, it's more like "Pay to receive optional extra"

Well, yes, its pay2win as any other free2play game, but must admit to be fair, CCP still doing it way more delicate.
Reward u get from this mission is an item u can obtain other way, or if its a booster, well than you wish item that give you advantage over the other players who use isk only and on other side u still dont like p2w?

These missions are not integral to the game. You get (basically) the same salvage that everyone else can get, a little bit of SP, and some ISK.
By this logic, the loyalty ranks would be pay to win as well, because you get X% more from selling assets.

Strongboxes and keys (which can be one from the aurum missions) are essentially a way for wallet warriors to purchase officer weapons. I've already seen a dramatic increase in officer weapons in pub matches.
And yes the loyalty ranks are a p2w feature not only because you get X% from selling assets, but other advantages including skillpoints. Because of the disproportionate influence aurum has over loyalty ranks it should be either tweaked or removed. I prefer removed.

Well no, because completion of the jobs is an optional activity and does not tie in as a necessary requirement for progression. Your SP accumulation will not be frozen due to a job not being completed.
Also factor in that its very rare, but a key could show up in the after game salvage. If that happens to a player who never spent AUR ever, then infact, this game remains free to play. The only payment options are just incase you feel like leapfrogging a little bit. In that you can wait your turn for a free salvage key, or you can buy some boosters and get it included.
If it was truly pay to win, the skillbooks and SP trainers for proto would require AUR to unlock. |

It is not an optional activity for people who don't spend money. It's irrelevant that your SP won't be locked when someone who put in equal effort gets more of a benefit because they payed real money.
Yes keys are very rare and strongboxes are common. This is the problem. Statistically only people who buy aurum will benefit largely from rare items. And then you said it yourself "or you can BUY some boosters and GET it included"
Wrong again. It needs only to provide an advantage to be p2w.

Only time I see those and I think, "Well that's edging in PTW..." Is when it's that you need to activate it 5 times, and it gives you an omega booster plus 45,000 sp. That's a lot of potential sp for AUR.
