Those that go around putting uplinks in hazardous places which noobs continue to spawn at because they are too terrible to spawn anywhere else. They also make it so that noobs don't focus on taking CRU's or Supply Depots because there is an abundance of uplinks and nanohives around. They also drop low level uplinks from the APEX logis that take forever to spawn people so it is almost impossible to make a counter attack when the enemy is on the offensive.
I hate these logis they sabotage their own teams and yet still rake in a reward.

You missed his point. His point is that you don't gain the experience of a Logistics just by wearing the suit.
In the eyes of a veteran Dust player, a logistics player is one who highly specializes in the role of logistics, knows how the make the most of the equipment, knows the best spots to put the equipment in so that his team benefits the most from it, and is mindful of his/her own limitations as a logi. That's a logistics player.
A player wearing the suit just to try it out isn't really a logi but instead a tourist.

Observe where you are spawning. It will save you headaches.
You can zoom into the overhead map, pan left and right and determine if the uplink you are considering spawning from is in a preferred location.

did you learn how to scout/heavy/assault/tank etc on your first day. no so give the noobs a break. everyone has to learn somewhere. how about instead of blaming others for bad equipment locations how about you blame yourself for using them in these bad locations. noobs soon learn where and where not to place equipment when they don't get used. i'm still learning new stuff to this day and i have been a logi for years.

In fact I already knew how to be an Assault from countless hours of Call of Duty and I had a decent amount of experience as a logistics player from playing the engineer class from the Battlefront series. The heavy is just a simplified Assault.

I do the same distinction with any other roles including my own. I'm a dedicated scout in every sense of the word due to my years experience. I have been cross training into logistics for the better part of the past month but I have yet to call myself a logi player because I just don't have enough experience going into that role. I would say the same about myself if I cross train into assault or piloting vehicles or whatever.

I think this is a great post. To us logis(everyone in general), as all the other roles the game has, why not say what you would like from a logi? I think logis reading those replies, it would help them help you better.
Like me, i dont do reps/needles. I do proto uplinks, then switch to mass driver/nanos.
Would help saying both Ambush and Dom/Skirmish fits you would like to see logis do.
I drop a lot of high uplinks, I had not really thought about the new falling animation. I'll think about that from now on, yeah it would suck to fall down only to get killed. |

I wouldn't necessarily say "majority" unless I have statistics to prove it. I would say "some" as that is a much broader term.

It is rather strange isn't it? All roles mark themselves clearly with their namesakes, but players in Assault suits don't. They, as well as many logistics, refer to them simply as slayers which is odd given that heavies and scouts tend to get comparable kill counts with scouts tending to get more WPfrom the hacking of objectives behind enemy lines.
Is a player in an Assault suit with a Swarm Launcher still considered an Assault player? What if he dons Kinetic Catalyzers and a shotgun? Is he a scout or an Assault? What if he uses a Sniper Rifle and dampeners? Is he a Sniper or is he a dedicated Assault? What about if a scout player decides to use a Plasma Cannon and remote explosives against HAV's? Is he still consideed a scout, or is he now an Assault; or quite possibly just simply an AV player?

Assault seem to be the only oddball out of all the classes. From what I understand they are meant to be Jack of all trades but masters of none. Their main advantage should be flexibility. They can fit themselves to be scout-ish or AV-ish, or logi-ish if they want to but are unable to marginalize or outclass the other classes. Experience has taught me that they are meant more for direct, frontal attacks just like the Commandos. But that only means they are made redundant by the presence of the commandos who can tank more and wield two light weapons. They're a pretty weird case to comprehend.

The Commando is not a better Assault; the Assault is a better Commando. The Assault has more mobility, has more weapon speciality and much greater EWAR capabilities and the possibility of more HP. The Commando is just a suit meant to be used with Launche weapons like the Swarm Launcher, Plasma Cannon and Mass Driver. Anything else and there is no reason to use them.

I'm not a tanker because I call in a tank, or a pilot when I call in a DS, not really a scout if I don't play like one. Logi is both a role and a suit, good logis are like all the good players in other roles, they don't want the bad ones ruining their reputation. What the correct use is, I don't know.
Because, that's why.

Uplinks where never supposed to be the main form of spawning... Nore spawning on Objectives or structures as they are prone to spawn camping..
Like any game like this is... and always will be.
Dropships where supposed to be a support vehicle that dropped mercenaries off and continued to act as a mobile spawn platform in areas that where being engaged..
You will kinda see this done in very limited ways because of dropships terrlible defense and Offensive capabilities that make dropships act like slayers.
But when a dropship has a Mobile CRU and is able to fly around and offer some cover fire... while being at a height that mercenaries can continue to spawn and dropdown with taking minimal to no damage not having to activate their inertia dampener...
It's truly some intense gameplay... Where defenders are fighting off people endlessly until enough AV support can remove the threat.. and people are spawning in frantic into the dropship to drop down and engage.
Instead we have wet paper bag dropships that 1-3 shot every suit in the game and Mobile CRU's that completely ruin the defensive abilites of a dropship while doing nothing to offense.
And 2 years of mercenaries spawning blindly into points and structures and uplinks to get to have all their ISK investment deleted in less then a second. |

No $h1t , half the time people just spawn where they see a link at and not looking at the environment that there spawning in , I can't blame that on the logi more or less .. the person that's spawning in , part of the reason that people camped CRU's is the same reason then they come and complain about it like it's the person who placed the links fault .
Sometimes positions get overtaken and camped when the spawn was in a good spot for recovery but was notice by the enemy .
I just can't understand why we keep having this discussions like you people want links nerfed or something where they can't spawn in high area's .
You people complain about everything and no one is perfect .

It's how you learn and I know DAM well that most of you didn't know what to do without trial and error .
