Ground attack craft with lighter transport than an NDS but greater firepower. Except we're not allowed greater firepower (well, we have greater firepower, it's just essentially irrelevant.)
Derrith, would you say that solo ADSs are the only ones used in PC? Transport might be used a bit but I'm talking about gunning.
But one of the biggest stumbling blocks for any DS/ADS is that the maps and teams are so small that meaningful transportation is pretty unnecessary and that the firepower available to an ADS is pretty easily performed by infantry who can do more on the ground than in the turret.

I tend to leave ADS alone, as i dont have any points in Incubus, so id rather not provoke them into pulling one out. I'll also fly in and assist with pushing a point, or distract a tank. Since the ROF nerf, ive found it hard to destroy tanks without running proto missiles, and even then, it depends on how good of a tanker they are. PRO Rails on an Incubus are pretty good for vehicle hunting still. Not nearly the sheer banditry of 10% ROF/level days, but still solid. HAVs don't care too much unless you can hound them for a good minute or two, or they're really bad, and LAVs had never cared if the driver considers jinking once in a blue moon. DSs, though, have to be concerned.

Another main reason for this is the fact that gunners require a pilot to hover, making him easy prey to any AV on the field.
Transport ADS are definitely used, but it's nothing more than "spawn here and take your guys to the city" at the start of the match. Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought.

I believe a gunner can learn to shoot on the move but we never taken the time to train one. Numnutz and I are pretty good, even on the move, but I doubt we'd be more effective than a solo pilot plus a ground pounder in a PC: coordinated AV in pubs is bad news enough already, and while we have a better reaction to Swarmers than I have solo (ie, I'm more likely to zero in and kill AV as a gunner) it's still likely that one Swarmer forces us to run.
Not done a PC in ages, and the last was a lagfest, but I got repeatedly chased down by the same AVer (solo, I might add - Ratamaq, if you're still watching, here's a shout out for you!) But yeah, I definitely feel that the 16-merc team size is too small for anything approaching flexible tactics.
The difference between 15 or 16 boots on the ground is felt more heavily than the difference between 31 and 32, or even 23/24. Just a bump up to 24 vs 24 would give teams much more flexibility... anyway, thanks for the answers guys, just wanted to have that out in the open where Rattati and Co would (maybe) see it.
