It needs a buff not a nerf, the gun is unusable on other suits apart from amarr assault.
No, leave it the **** alone. I'm sick of everyone trying to change **** because they feel like it. The SCR is fine the way it is. Shortening the mag is just a **** move, but adding a damage buff is just asking for it to become the FOTM, and get nerfed a month later far below where it is now. It is fine the way it is.
For how few people actually use the SCR, it's staggering how many seems to want to change it. I use it religiously, and I like the SCR the way it is. I liked it better before the hotfixes, but I have settled on it's current state. Leave my ******* rifle alone, and go analyze the assault combat rifle or the burst AR. |

DPS and damage-until-overheat are best when just spamming uncharged shots. Is this intended? - The ScR is good against armor and terrifying against shields. Against armor a pro ScR does 71.5 * 23 * 0.8 = 1300 points of damage within 2.3 seconds, or 572 DPS. Even at a truly lazy 420 RPM (7 shots a second) there's still 400 DPS against armor left. A pro AScR - for comparison - will only do 320 DPS against armor at less range. A pro AR does 408 DPS against armor at shorter range. All these numbers are before skills and damage mods.
I'm firmly pro-Amarr - I currently have no non-Amarr fitting - but I can still see that somethings wrong here.
Sure, but you're forgetting the overheat mechanic, which if hit, damages you and leaves you completely vulnerable for 3 seconds. So in a gun fight, if you're not careful, you're gonna die. And, it has a clip like other rifles, so along with the overheat, you need to watch the bullet count.
The only way you truly get the best performance from the rifle is with the Amarr Assault class. Yes, the commando give you a damage bonus, but with straffing, more rounds fired is better them more damage per round. No other gun has such an exclusive benefit to a single suit.
It also has a very high PG requirement, so you often find yourself giving something valuable up on your fitting to be able to use it.
It also still has a bug, that if you rapid fire the remainder of your mag, it pretty much jams, and the last round turns into a charge shot that you can't discharge until it feels like it, or you sprint/change weapons.
It's a high risk v reward weapon. Those of us who love it, love it because we committed the time and effort to master the weapon. Personally, I like it because It suits my playing style. I'm the idiot that charges a sentinel, and if I play it right, and control my fire, I can beat him. Yes, I lose a lot, but winning the couple gun fights is why I enjoy the weapon. |
