I've thought for a long time heavies are in a good place.
But the resistance thing always bugs me, 2 and 3%? I'd be surprised if they are even applied - has anyone does any scientific tests on these? I saw a while back people doing one or two things in a Factional match to do with the HMG spray but I doubt this is even applied in the first place.
Why not make the resistance something like 25 or even 50% to start with and then dial it back - that way these bloody Minmatar assaults, or anything for that matter (not singling out Minassaults) cannot kill a heavy suit with a single clip.
Does anyone agree?
Okay - yes, 25 - 50% may be a little too high to begin with - but also, it might not be, what is the damage output of your average proto CR/RR? 2000+ damage? with it's massive hitbox and no speed - no heavy can survive that.
Yes yes I know - get a logi etc etc. but just humour me here; I want to discuss the innate resistance stat of the heavy that seemingly does not do anything. Once upon a time (albeit for a bout a week) I remember when you could tank a RE! anyone else remember that? explosive resistance my ass!

Victor, I will say that yes the resistances do help sentinels. When I used gallente assault with ar and smg (prof 5 everything) I hated amarr sentinels. My usual prof against shields and armor was 125 and 130. Amarr sentinels would reduce that to 110 and 115 . So someone without prof 5 would be getting 95 and 100 with the same suit and weapons. Each sentinels resistances work against certain weapons which can make them a NIGHTMARE if you get caught with your pants down.
As far as I know splash resistance saves sentinels a lot as well. Even as a chubby chaser commando with 312 shield and 632 armor and 23 reps, i can get taken out by 2 core locus grenades. The chubby i was chasing would survive those. Resistances do help, but only against certain weapons. Playing sentinel involves a lot of cover abuse and suddenly popping out of corners and doorways because max sentinel skill only cancels 15% and 10% damage efficency of said weapons. Any higher and sentinels would be ridiculously hard to kill. Thats my opinion at least.

Resistances are OP combined with the high HP heavies. It takes 13+ MD rounds to take 1 heavy down. As for other weapons taking down a Heavy, that is working as intended. Heavies already get too much for too little, and need a resistance reduction.
