Is it the fact that they can stay off radars, cloak, and kill almost instantly with Shotguns?
Or is it because they can tank their suits out, equip a BrAR and benefit from their inherent eWar bonuses, decent speed, and smaller hitboxes?
Things may not be as bad now, but these two examples I mentioned seemed to be the main complaints of all GalScout opponents. I never understood which was disliked more. |

My guess is because they could dampen, while still having plenty of room to tank, and essentially be more effective as light assaults than any assault suit could manage.
I don't know there is any problem now.

I like how i can be invisible my galscout has 13db (im not sure if anything can scan that). And i have space to tank/more ewar like kinkats (once i unlock them) or cardiacs

I dislike the fact that it is, has been, and probably always will be; the best scout in the game.
For a specialization that needs damps to survive, built in dampening and excess low slots give you fantastic fitting ability.

This has largely been the root of all scout balancing issues as well.

It is the best scout for scouting, just like the Caldari Assault is the best overall Assault for Assaulting; just as the Amarr Sentinel is the best overall Sentinel for both anti infantry and AV roles; just as the Minmatar Logi is the best overall logi for team support; and just as (arguably) the Amarr Commando is the best commando in overall survivability and self sustainability.
I don't believe that it is a mistake that the original four suits are the best at their respective roles.

I like the Gal scout being the only Gal suit in the game, carrying an AR and being what a Gallente should be during a time with no cloak to change the game to an arena gimmick game.
I don't like anything that is not that.

Caldari Assault best at assaulting? Maybe at the time when it was the only assault.
I'd leave that up to the CQC-aggressive Gal/Min Assaults.

What the hell, berries? There's a ton of APEX scouts scannable by just two PE's on a scout without precision bonus. You can match that dB up to that of the tier of the scanner you're using.
Or those are:
1. Trash-fitted
2. Dampening not leveled up
3. Slayer Lite Assaults
Of course, you'd run Gal with two damps and Suit bonus to 5, so I don't see much that can scan your fits.

This essentially. Right now the GalScout is probably the best scout: damp (escape long range scans) and precision bonus (see at long range) are both good and four lows are good in the current meta (either for tanking or for utility modules.)
I don't think they're wrong or OP in any way, but those are the reasons I could see for people considering them so. Personally, I am think we just need module bonuses for the scouts (and for the sentinel resistances) and we'll see a lot less scout QQ; add in a damp bonus for all racial scouts (different amounts perhaps) but it is pretty vital to the role.

I tried suggesting giving min a bonus to damps but it was shouted down in the shop and nobody wanted to hear a lick of it, nor did they raise a single other suggestion.
It's why I don't reply to or acknowledge min scout complaints any more.

Yeah, a while back got hate mail from a Tanked out proto Gal logi, who never once even tried using a scanner.
I spent the whole match waiting for YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED to show up and force me from my single into the my double dampened fit....
Nope, he never even tried.
I've knifed a few Amarr scouts in the back too come to think of it.

If you tank the fit, you lose the max eWar potential. Might as well use a Min scout with no extra HP and a plasma cannon as the only weapon.
None of my Gal scout fits have any extra HP. They're all eWar.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Amarr and Gal scouts are the only ones that can escape a Gal logi. If there's a mic though, everybody knows what direction that scout is in.
I use the Dovulle Focused on my PRO logi fits. Only eWar Amarr and Gallente scouts escape the scans. But there's built-in warning, so it's not like you're really escaping.

Every scout can escape 15db scans easly.
But it's not worth it. 5 secs of scan is nothing.
Ps. To that guy who was writing about minja bonuses. It don't need dampening bonus. Current bonuses are much better.

High alpha weapons + EWAR dampening dominance + EWAR scanning of a scout + enough HP |
